One of Marley's favourite things while being at school was her friends. She absolutely loved spending time with her friends. The Hufflepuff had a few friends, close friends even. And she considered Lucy as one of them. She wanted to catch up with the girl and see how she was doing. Sure she had spent time to time with them, but it was always nice to have a catch up sesh. The Hufflepuff had asked if Lucy could meet her at the Great Lawn. Marley thought it was a good place because you could hardly hear other people's conversations. The Hufflepuff set up a picnic mat and some snacks on top of the picnic mat under one of the tall trees, as she waited for Lucy to arrive.

Lucy was in a good mood. The weather was nice, and she was going to have a picnic with one of her close friends. That was pretty cool, in her mind. Although she did have a few things on her mind - in the blur of OWLs, quidditch, and the conglomerated arts club, Lucy had a secret. It was a secret that made her heart soar in a strange way she'd never really felt before. It was sort of painful, sort of pleasant, and all because of one particular person. Lucy wondered if Marley had ever had these feelings as she walked out onto the great lawn. She spotted Marley pretty quickly, waving to get her attention as she approached. "Hi Marley," she said as she drew close, then stopped to admire the set-up. "This looks great! Oh, and you brought food too!" Lucy beamed as she took a seat on the picnic mat. It was a lovely day and not too cold in the shade. A perfect picnic day.

Marley grinned when she saw Lucy appear. "Hiya Lucy!" Marley says happily with a wave before she takes a seat on the picnic mat. She always enjoyed Lucy's company, even if she didn't hang with Lucy as often as she had hoped. The Hufflepuff nodded. "Yup! I hope you don't mind. Thought some snacking would be fun while we chat" Marley says with a chuckle and shrug. Marley always enjoyed some snacks, mostly sweet snacks, but she always loved many different snacks. "Anyways, how are you doing miss prefect and co-captain?" Marley says with a grin as she raised her eyebrows up and down.

Lucy was a bit of a sweettooth, so she appreciated the sweet snacks, going for a wrapped chocolate first. "Good thinking," Lucy said, unwrapping the chocolate before popping it in her mouth. She chewed happily as she listened to Marley's question. "Great!" she replied. "Well, a little bit nervous because it's like, all of this new stuff plus it's OWL year but you know, besides that..." Lucy trailed off, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks. She shook her head. "Nevermind. What about you? You made prefect and co-captain too!"

Marley grinned when Lucy agreed with her idea of the snacks. The Hufflepuff always thought it was always fun to snack and chat. She nodded in agreement when Lucy explained how it was their OWLs. Marley had tried her best to be mentally prepared for the upcoming year, she wanted to do well. The Hufflepuff tilted her head to the side when Lucy had stopped mid-sentence. Marley knew she was gonna circle back to that in a second. Marley grinned. "Honestly I'm shocked, but I'm ready for the challenge to be honest. Big responsibilities for the both of us don't you reckon?" Marley grinned a little. The idea of having both titles seemed exciting and fun, Marley waited for a bit as she waited for Lucy's response before deciding to say something."Was there something on your mind a minute ago?" Marley asked curiously, as she grabbed one of the chocolates and began to unwrap the chocolate.

Lucy nodded, glad she at least had friend's in similar situations to her. Then Marley circled back, and Lucy didn't know if she could hide it any longer. "Well, there's...maybe there's someone. You know, that I might like-like," Lucy said, the flush returning to her cheeks. "But I don't know how she feels yet! I'm sort of...I'm just trying to gauge what to do, I guess." Lucy felt abnormally shy, reaching for another snack to take her mind off saying how she felt out loud for the first time.
