Minnie hadn't really expected to get it. She had been enjoying the freedom of writing and working at the Hog's head, but she also knew that that couldn't be forever. With her first book written, and now just the revisions and trying to get published, Minnie felt in a much better position and much more ready to face things. She was no longer stressed, and crying over every little thing. She just hadn't really expected to get it. So much so that she hadn't really mentioned it to Eric. She just wasn't sure she wanted to talk about it when he might disagree. Minnie had mixed feelings about school, about how things had been for her at it, but she also knew that if she were in a position to avoid it happening to anyone else, she had to be. "Eric, honey," she called out in their home, since she had the letter and needed to now tell him.

Eric had been working out and had just taken a shower when Minnie called out his name. He headed over in her direction, using a towel to dry his hair. "Hey, what's up?" He asked as he moved over to her to kiss her. "Been working on your book?" He asked, knowing that Minnie was pretty consumed with it lately. He was honestly waiting for things to slow down a bit more with the revisions before going shopping for a ring. He knew he wanted to marry Minnie, he just wasn't sure it was the right time. He was confident her book would be published sooner or later, it was just a question of when.

Minnie glanced up at Eric, her expression easing into one of fondness. She loved Eric. He supported her through every hardship and decision she had to make. She knew she'd never love anyone else like she loved him. "Yes, but, this isn't about that," Minnie went to take his hands in hers, the paper still being partly held. "I did a thing...I applied for a professor position at Hogwarts. I didn't think I'd get it..but I did," she held his gaze, looking for his reaction.

Eric's expression shifted into uncertainty as Minnie said this wasn't about the book. He had no idea what she could be wanting to talk about, but he got the feeling it was probably something serious. There was something about her expression that set off warning bells in his head. Eric tried his best not to assume the worst. When Minnie spoke again, Eric blinked in surprise. "Wait, what?" He asked her. "You applied- why didn't you tell me?" He asked, a feeling of dread creeping up on him.

Minnie gave a little sheepish expression and the shrugged. "I figured I wouldn't get it, it seemed like a bit of a long shot," Minnie told him, honestly. She just hadn't thought that it was something she would get. "And I wasn't even sure I'd want to do it," she added before leaning into him a little. "But it'll be better money than what I'm currently making, and it's only a class a semester, so I can still work on my book," she reasoned, not wanting him to get annoyed about it, or think anything of it.
