Hēmi looked up, noticing someone familiar but who he couldn't remember talking to before. He felt oddly shy for a moment - the girl was pretty, and Hēmi was starting to notice that about girls. He quickly recovered though. "Just some poi," Hēmi said, then wasn't sure if she'd know what that was...
Hēmi had situated himself in the student lounge, a bag of supplies emptied out on the top of a table he sat at. It had been a while since he'd made poi*, but if there was one thing he missed at Hogwarts, it was the connection to his own culture. He had greater talent at harakeke** weaving but he...

Hēmi had tried to up his game in the wardrobe depart this time around, wearing some clothes his mother had made for him especially. Today he was wearing green on top and yellow trousers, both featuring the heraldry of Slytherin and Hufflepuff. He joined in with the chant, feeling a little silly...
Hēmi noticed the music stopping but was honestly so taken aback by the girls little spat that he had to remember that yes, he was still playing, and yes, this still was a game. He dove for a seat, nearly sliding back out of it but righting himself at the last moment. Hopefully no one had seen that.
Hēmi took a seat that no one seemed to be near, giving a smile to his sister as he took his seat. His heart was beating fast as he did so. Musical chairs was a lot, it turned out.
Hēmi looked up, a bit confused. He rushed to the seat, not realising there'd been one free. That was kind of more embarrassing but he sat quickly down beside Teddy, a little ashamed but glad to be in the game.
((ooc: my bad, I counted wrong))
Hēmi slowed, then looked around, noticing that unfortunately there were no more chairs. He shrugged his shoulders in disappointment and went to spend his time being an on-looker. He honestly wasn't too bothered, but it was a bit embarrassing to get out on the first round.
Hēmi started to go with the music, walking in time with it without really thinking. He was just about enjoying himself though he could feel the pressure to find a seat at the same time.
Hēmi looked back at his sister, imitating the gesture. He was actually a bit nervous, but he didn't want to show that. He wasn't competitive like Aroha was but he definitely felt a tug of something approaching competitiveness when she was around. He really just wanted to have a good time more...
Hēmi didn't know why he was at the Valentines dance of all things but he kind of was curious about what it'd be like. As an eleven year old, he didn't particularly care about romance or love or anything like that. It seemed beyond him. Entering the great hall, he soon spotted someone in his year...
I'm going to offer just one because I've been pretty bad with keeping up with threads and I really need to have a better way of organising what I have going on asdfghjk.
Marama x Aroha - I don't think they've interacted before, Marama is a year older, but they're both Māori and both Gryffindors...
