Tulip Wood Wand with Unicorn Hair Core
The wand moved smoothly through the air, slim wood grasped firmly in the red tipped fingers. Cecily Zhefarovich lowered it by her side, taking in her handiwork. House-elfs and a few staff a like had gathered to help with the decorations. The Great Hall had been transformed as it was every year into a spectacular and elegant ballroom setting. Christmas trees, mistletoe, ice blue icicles and many other festive and gorgeous decorations adorned the huge room. Round tables surrounded the edges of the polished dance floor. Large food and drink tables were stationed in the corners among many potted plants. Tonight the ceiling had been charmed to look like the clear night sky with hundreds of sparkling stars. In a fit of whimsy, a few cloud were added as well that would intermittently snow fat snow flakes down on the crowd slowly.

Once the room was over flowing with the student body, Cecily approached the podium. Proudly she set her bare shoulders above the strapless brazen red dress, eyes darkly lined, mouth slicked a nearly nude color. She was calm that night, in the shadow of the latest upheaval. For now she chose to ignore it, to not let it taint this wonderful night for her students, or her colleagues. "Good evening," she began, smiling at the crowd. "Welcome to this year's annual Yule Ball. I'll keep it short, as I'm sure everyone is eager to get on the dance floor. Have fun, no fighting, and be merry!"

Stepping back from the podium, she mingled her way through the crowd before going to slide her hand into her husband's and smiling up at him. The music started and the crowd began to move.

Siobhan fluffed her waves one more time as she walked down the stairs toward the Great Hall. There weren't many people coming in yet, but she walked in anyway, her short white dress trailing behind her. The beauty of the transformed Great Hall astounded her as her heels clicked toward the drink table to quench her thirst. She didn't even see anyone she knew yet, and it made her feel sort of awkward. Taking a sip of one of the punch glasses, she carefully took it over with her to one of the tables and sat down, tapping her foot.

Siobhan hoped the ballroom would fill up soon.
