Malachy had been enjoying New Zealand, but right now he was not in New Zealand. He was on another island with his team to celebrate. They were celebrating for winning a game or anything, but they were just celebrating their ability to party. He had broken away from the loud and crowded club his team had decided to go to, and he went to a much more quiet one, but still crowded. He had not had a drink in a few months. He was so busy with work and practicing that he had stressed himself out. He wanted to let go just a little bit. He had gotten strict once Louise came to stay with him for the holidays. She had her own paryting to do. The two siblings had two things in common. They shared blood, and they loved to party. Malachy was much more of a quiet party animal. Louise was a loud and wild one. He sat at the bar, and he asked for a cup and a bottle of liquor.
He opened the bottle, and he poured himself a drink. He put three ice cubes in it. Whenever Malachy drank he was reminded of that one party the seventh year Beauxbatons threw, and they invited the Durmstrang seventh years to come as well. It was over the holidays, and at the party Malachy had caught the sight of one Durmstrang student that sat alone in a chair. Several girls had asked him to dance, but he kindly rejected. He was very attractive, and Malachy could not help, but go and talk to him. Malachy later found out that the boy's name was Hezekiah, and he was a major loner. He barely talked to anyone, and he had plans to go back to New Zealand after graduating. At the party, the two had a very quiet conversation. Hezekiah did not show much interest in him, but Malachy was persistent.
After the party, the two sent each other occasional letters. By occasional he meant occasional. Hezekiah was not very interested in making friends. The boy seemed to not be very confident in himself. Malachy saw that Hezekiah had an inferiority complex. Most people with a complex like Hezekiah were bullies, but he was different. He stayed away from people because he did not want to waste their time. He felt that everyone else was bigger than him. Malachy natuarally felt attracted to this. He wanted to help his friend not feel so inferior, but he had never gotten the chance to. He and Hezekiah stopped sendig letters almost seven months ago. Malachy chugged down the rest of his drink. He started to pour himself another one.
