Caleb was deeply amused by all this rose stuff. He watched with curiosity as people around him got roses and waited to see their reactions when they read their notes. It was a brilliant distraction after how horrible his break had been. At least for now he could pretend to be like every other kid waiting to see if anyone had a crush on him. He perked up when he heard his name and waved his arms wildly. "That's me!" he shouted triumphantly and stood up from the table.

Caleb took the rose eagerly and went right for the note. He smiled when he saw it was from Rene. He was sweet and he was grateful that his friend had thought of him. "Oh, thanks." he said quickly, realizing he hadn't said it before he grabbed the rose in his excitement.
