Valentines was bittersweet for Acacia. She loved everything about the sentiment of the day... the spreading of love and togetherness, but... thinking about her own love life was always a sad affair. Acacia didn't know if she'd ever have any luck finding love at Hogwarts, as things certainly weren't working out for her so far. She loved seeing her friends happy in love (even love as strange as Analei and her disturbing boyfriend) but Acacia was starting to think that would never be part of her life. And she wasn't sure she entirely wanted it to be, looking at how horribly boys treated Emilia. Even though she had known Derek was bad news from the start, Acacia had still hoped he would prove her wrong, and now that he had failed that test, Acacia was on the warpath against the Slytherin. As far as she was concerned, no boy had proven himself worthy of her best friend yet, and Acacia was willing to bet no boy ever would. As angry as it made her, thinking defensive thoughts about Emilia's love life was a good distraction from her own, and keeping Acacia's mind occupied as she tried to get through this day. She was pulled from her thoughts of vengeance by the sound of her own name, looking up in surprise. "Oh! That's me!" Acacia said cheerfully, wondering who this rose would be from.
