Abigail was still proud of how the team had won against both Beauxbatons and Hogwarts last year. Clearly, her leadership was turning things around, even if Micha wasn’t all that bad. He was just too nice sometimes, so Abigail was there to balance that out. They were a pretty good team that way. She waited for the team, as well as potential new team members, at tryouts this year. Abigail had made sure to advertise all over the school, highlighting their recent successes. Abigail smiled at everyone, even the people she didn’t much like. “Alright everyone, as you probably know, I’m Abigail Martin and I’m one of the co-captains of the team. Last year, we showed everyone what a great team we are. This year, we’re going to do even better.” She said firmly. "New players and alternates will have to try out again. The established team members will be helping out with tryouts, and play as you normally would. I will not tolerate slackers.” She said, gaze cold. "If you're trying out, clearly state your name, year and position you're playing for." She added, then glanced at Micha, going quiet and giving him space to speak if he had anything to add.

Micha found it a little hard to feel good about their win against Hogwarts New Zealand. It felt wrong to even call it a game. But he had caught the snitch, even if it felt mostly like dumb luck. He just hoped that maybe that luck could last a little longer and they could snag one more championship before he graduated and had to face the real world. Micha let Abigail take the lead for try-outs since her help last year obviously did something. He doubted the team would have made it as far with out her. "And I'm Micha! The other co-captain." he said, introducing himself and gave an awkward smile and small wave. "Abigail covered most of it. But just wanted to welcome back everyone who played last year and give an extra welcome to those trying out this year. I hope we can all have a great season." he said with as much enthusiasm as he could. With nothing left to add he blew the whistle he kept around his neck and signaled for everyone to get started.

Pearl hadn't expected to need to transfer, she didn't even know the real reason. Her father had just packed up all their stuff and moved them to a nothing town in the middle of America. She wasn't sure what kind of life anyone could lead there. But she didn't mind. She had thought about staying at Hogwarts and travelling, but in the end she'd decided to transfer to Ilvermorny. She had been enjoying it, about as much as she had enjoyed Hogwarts. But here she had decided to try out for the quidditch team. She arrived at the pitch and watched as the captains spoke. They seemed...interesting. Eventually she was able to step forward and try out, so she did. "Pearl Parra, trying out for keeper," Pearl said. "And just FYI, I was the best keeper in all of Hogwarts,"

Pearl got on to her broom, and despite a slightly rocky start, she wasn't too bad at flying. She wasn't the best, there would be a lot of work to be done to get her to a decent standard but she didn't mind. The former slytherin now thunderbird went to the hoops to defend them. She wasn't too bad at it really. she blocked a couple of them, went the wrong way with outs. She hadn't quite managed to catch any outright and properly but Pearl was sure that would come with time. Being a keeper wasn't too hard, she just mostly watched everyone else. Only active when she needed to be. She could do that.

Dion practically sauntered down to the Quidditch pitch, twirling his beater's bat idly. He needed to lift his game with...just about everything, really, but he was just enjoying life and taking it easy. No point stressing so much, if he did as well as he needed to do then that was good enough for right now. Still, he was going to hopefully do better this year while still having a good time. He hid an eyeroll at both the captains speeches as he took to the air, hitting bludgers around and not really hitting them at players. At least that was his excuse for missing.

Noah didn't care much for try-outs, especially not since he was already part of the team. Plus, they weren't in need of any new chasers so it wasn't like he needed to try and help others show of their best efforts. He did know he had to show up though. Especially with Abigail as captain. She seemed like someone who'd kick him off if he even managed to show up to try-outs a couple of minutes late. So there he was, perfectly in time hear the captains say whatever it was they wanted to say. When they finished Noah hopped onto his broom and shot up into the air. He spend most of try-outs flying around the pitch, tossing the quaffle to other players and trying his hand at some of the kids trying out for keeper. Once time was up he touched back down, glad to not see half of the students who had showed up to try-outs on the pitch again.

Felicity was more than ready for the new year and a new season of Quidditch. She'd completely refreshed her look, fluffing her blue hair expectantly as Abigail and Micha addressed the team, not particularly paying attention to what they were, focused more on hoping her teammates might notice and comment on her new hair before they got in the air and it inevitably got messed up. It looked like they had a new girl trying out for the team and Flick hoped she'd make it, even if she looked a little wobbly; Felicity loved having more girls on the team. She made an effort to knock a few bludgers clear of the hoops, just to make sure the new girl had her best chance to put a good show, and otherwise stuck with Gwydion, keen to catch up with her fellow beater after the summer break.

Zoey hadn't been very happy with her performance last year. Granted she was just an alternate and sat on the bench during both games but even during practice she couldn't seem to make any kind of progress. She could practically hear her father telling her that she wasn't a quitter, which was true. It wasn't like she was running from the team, she just knew she needed to mix things up. When it was her turn she walked up to the captains with her chin raised high. "Zoey Hawkins, trying out for chaser." she said with her broom tightly in her hand.

With that out of the way, Zoey took to the air and grabbed the quaffle the first chance she got. She tucked it under her arm and started to fly toward the hoops and managed to avoid anyone who tried to take it from her, She took advantage of her small size and went even faster as she approached the hoops. She threw the quaffle and grinned when she made it though. Yes, this definitely felt better. She kept up with the rest of the team in this new position with ease for the rest of try-outs and was feeling quite pleased with herself.

Nabi was excited to try out for the Ilvermorny Quidditch team, she had been on the team last year, and it had been a lot of fun. She grinned as she waited for her turn. When it came, she stepped forward. "I'm Nabi Mun, I'm trying out for seeker!" She said, giving a little wave to go along with her statement. She shot into the air and started looking for the snitch. It took her a while, but she eventually grabbed it. With a grin, she held it up. "Got it!" She released it again and kept on looking until her time was up. At least she had caught it once.

Tryouts will close tomorrow!

Micha held his hand up to shield his eyes from the sun as he took one last look at the team trying out. They were a solid team and he hoped they could pull off another winning season one last time for his sake. He blew his whistle and waved his arms around in attempt to gather them all around again "Good job everyone!" he said and gave them all a thumbs up. "Thanks for showing up today and we should have a final line up soon!"
