Y33 Dueling Match #22

With the first round over and done with, Katherine allowed for a brief intermission in order to rejuvenate the competitors, and to tend to those who had been defeated before the beginning of the second round. With everything in order, the Headmistress lead the refreshed duelists onto the platform, and took her own place on a podium overlooking them. "Wands at the ready. Now, bow and commence." The woman announced, allowing them to begin.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

October hadn't known at first whether she was relieved or not about making it through the first round of duels. Round two meant potentially facing Tristan, and that was something October definitely didn't want to do any time soon. She had avoided all the other contestants until her second duel was called, and the flood of relief that rushed through her when she heard her opponent's name was overwhelming. She silently thanked Jerara for sparing her having to duel Tristan, and then did her best to focus her thoughts on the coming match as she took her place. When the duel began October moved quickly, hoping to catch Jerara off guard. "Stupefy!"

jerara had been surprised that he'd been able to beat Tristan, it had been the first time he'd won against the other boy. He was now playing against october. he knew the girl, liked her enough too. He bowed to her and was able to block her spell when it flew at him. He then fired back with, "Expulso,"

October didn't remember the last time she had dueled Jerara, and she certainly didn't remember him using such dangerous spells. Her eyes widened and she brought up a shield quickly, staring at her classmate in horror. "What are you doing?!" She asked in disbelief. "That could have killed me! Incarcerous!" She cast, hoping to incapacitate Jerara quickly. She wondered how on earth he was getting away with using such dangerous spells, if this was something he did against every opponent or if he bore some grudge against her on Tristan's behalf. Whatever the case, October didn't want this duel to go on long enough to discover what Jerara was capable of.

Jerara was a little confused by her reaction, wasn't the point to win, was this not a duelling competition where they could stretch out and use spells they might not otherwise be able to. He shrugged at her, he like October but he was just keen to have a good fight. The head boy blocked her spell as it rushed towards him, before sending something perhaps a little more tame in his mind, "Langlock,"

October couldn't believe Jerara's casual reaction, but as he returned to less lethal spells, she brought up a shield quickly, heart still racing slightly with fear. October didn't know what could have made Jerara bear her so much ill will that he would want to kill her, but she was eager for this duel to be over, and never to have to find out. "Stupefy!" She cast, hoping this duel would be over quickly.

Jerara really loved duelling, when he was able to push any spell he wanted to do. The boy blocked her spell when it raced towards him. Almost rolling his eyes a little at her choice of spell, and hitting back with a non-verbal, Obscuro.

October was surging with adrenaline now, terrified at the real danger that seemed to come with dueling Jerara. She was planning to shield against his next attack, but when it came nonverbally she didn't have the warning she expected and resorted to using her diminutive height to her advantage as she ducked under the spell, retaliating from a lower angle than usual in hopes of catching Jerara unawares. "Levicorpus!"
