The Ravenclaw team had done immensely well the previous year by managing to win the quidditch cup, and as Flavio returned for the new year and began to set up the quidditch try outs he was hopeful that year would be just as, if not more successful. Winning so many games and the team working so well together had definitely helped his confidence as a captain, which was a comforting contrast to the nerves he felt a year ago when he was first given the title, and felt anything but confident in his abilities. That day of course, after the success of the team and a year learning the ins and outs of being a captain, he was much more comfortable with the title, feeling confident that he wouldn't make a small mistake and ruin the teams chances of winning and also confident that if everyone worked hard and played their best, focusing on their tasks and not getting distracted by what was happening around them, everything would work out okay. The team playing well and feeling as if the time and effort they put in to practice was worth it was all Flavio wanted from quidditch in his final year of school, and he wouldn't think to ask for anything else.

When everything on the pitch was set up, Flavio began to notice various students arriving. He was glad his message on the bulletin board was noticeable enough for everyone to attend, and waited a few minutes for more people to arrive before speaking. "Hello everyone, welcome to the Ravenclaw quidditch try outs! My name is Flavio, and I am your captain. For the people who do not know how try outs work, all you need to do is tell me your name, and what position you are trying out for before you kick off the ground. Alternates need to try out again, but if you already have a position on the team, you just need to show up and help out the people that are trying out." Flavio paused, looking between the different students that gathered. "Okay, try outs can begin!" He then exclaimed. Wanting to make the best decisions for the team, he kept an eye on each of the students trying out, and also on the returning members that were helping them.

OOCOut of Character:
All returning players are guaranteed their position as long as they make an attendance post before try outs are over! Alternates must try out again.

If you're a first year please send me a PM before trying out! This is because first years are not allowed to try out unless there aren't enough students from the older years.

It still felt surreal to October, that Ravenclaw had managed to win the cup in her first year as seeker. She still felt like she had a lot to learn, and though with every game and practice she picked up new skills, it was still hard not to be embarrassed every time she made a mistake or a fumble. Doing something she hadn't spent her whole life training in was still a huge challenge, but it was one she was glad she had taken on. As she listened to Flavio beginning the tryouts it was a little strange not to be one of the people trying out, after having done so so many times in a row as an alternate. It was a relief though. All she had to do was help put the new people through their paces. Once Flavio was finished she gave him a shy smile and nod, then kicked off into the air, enjoying the wind on her face again as she began putting the new hopefuls through their paces.

Isaac had had a challenging holiday, and entering his fifth year he wasn't entirely sure of he was ready to return. With his Owls looming he knew he needed to do better if he wanted to work in St Mungos, but he still hadnt told his parents of his new plans. The only person who knew how he really felt towards his ambitions was now his ex, and while he knew it was the best the he and Sophie had parted ways, Isaac was left confused about what to do.

Heading down go the Quidditch pitch to take his place with his team, he tried to push the thoughts from his head, all the worries that were building up he needed to quell. He had other things to do right now.

Elly was happy to be back at the school, the fact that Ravenclaw had won the Quidditch last year had put her in a great mood. Elly walked to the pitch with her robes on and a broom in her hand. Her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She greeted her Captain and then waited for all the people to try out to come. Flavio started his speech and Elly listened. This would already be her fourth year as a keeper it felt surreal.

When it was time to try out Elly rose up in the air and helped people with their broom work. She was excited to help others. When the try out was over she left the pitch. She was excited for the upcoming year of Quidditch.

Jacob had made a lot of strategies, tactical planning and god knows what else. All of these he had hoped to implement while being benched. He hated Quidditch, but liked the strategy that came with it. But now he had actually been playing he started to like it. He could implement his strategies and play at the same time, it was marvelous. He had already made new predictions this year calculating wind, speed and time. Jacob was prepared and he was sure that Ravenclaw would win the cup once again.

Jacob arrived at the pitch and waited for the Captain to start his welcome speech. As soon as he was done Jacob flew up in the air alongside the students that were trying out for various positions. The only position that Jacob was any good at was chaser so he didn't even try to help the beaters. The worst one was already five-hundred times better than he was. Jacob laughed and every once in a while he aimed the quaffle at the keeper. He scored once or twice and assisted others. When it was time he left the pitch. It had been a lovely try out, since he didn't have to do a thing.

Noemie was excited for her last quidditch season, and she was very eager to do well in it. The teen walked on to the pitch and looked towards the captain as he gave a usual and pretty standard welcome to the try-outs. She listened along, when the time came she got on her broom and flew up into the air, she would help out in the try-outs for those trying out, but otherwise she was just happy to practice and brush up on her own skills.

The time came for Coleman to try to be on the Quidditch team, at least as a backup. With his dad being a skilled Quidditch player, it was roughly in their blood. Coleman had his own snitch, so he was going to try to become a backup seeker. Coleman pocketed his snitch and walked down to the pitch with his broom in hand. He walked up to the head boy and announced with a smile, “Hi, I’m Coleman Baros and I am here to try out to be a seeker. I know you have one already but I’d like to be a possible backup.” Coleman had not talked like that so confidently in a long time, as if he were channeling his sister. She was the confident, loud one. But if he could maybe channel her to make himself more competitive, then he would make a great Quidditch player.

Coleman mounted his broom and took off into the sky. He followed behind some of the Ravenclaws who did their laps, which he did at a decent speed where he maintained steady control. After the laps were done, he went up even higher into the air, and searched for the snitch that was released. After some time of searching, he managed to find it, and pursue it. It did not take him long to be able to wrap his fingers around it. He let it go, and proceeded to try to find it again. It wasn’t until the end of try outs when he managed to get it. It kept making him dive so he would become a little nervous and slow down, thus losing it again. But at least he tried out, and that was what he felt he could do.

Zoe wasn't really sure what had possessed her to head down to the Quidditch pitch today, but she was feeling pretty great about it. She had always had an interest in the game, begging dad to bring her along when he took Jason and Harley to games, and had enjoyed watching a few at Hogwarts, but hadn't considered trying out until now. Zoe wasn't the most confident person in the world on a broom, but she would get better as she practiced, and life was all about experimenting and trying new things. So she showed up and listened to the captain explain the plan for the day, making sure she paid attention.

Finally, time came to kick off. "Zoe Tsuji, trying out for Beater!" She said cheerfully, hefting the bat in her hand. Zoe had considered which position sounded the most fun, and she quite liked the idea of hitting stuff around. Plus, it sounded like the kind of thing Harley would approve of, and if she could get her big sister to show up to the games, that would be excellent. So Zoe kicked off, bat clutched tightly in her hand, and took to the sky, keeping an eye open for bludgers. It wasn't long before she saw one shooting towards one of the other players trying out and shot after it, swinging hard. To her satisfaction the ball flew far, soaring across to the other side of the pitch. She changed directions, circling the pitch, and after a bit dove for the other bludger, sending it towards one of the other players trying out. It barely wiffed past the person, but Zoe was pretty happy with her aim. She spent the rest of the tryout period zooming after bludgers, and managed to only miss the ball a couple of times. Happy with her performance, Zoe bounced off her broom once she was done, grinning brightly at the captain. "Thanks!" She said cheerfully, before heading back up to the castle.

After winning the cup in the previous year Jackson was excited to return and hopefully do it all over again. After a quick breakfast the fifth year made his way down to the Quidditch pitch where some of his teammates were waiting. He joined them while new hopefuls began to make their way out to try out for the team. Jackson was excited to see what new faces would join the team and help them win another championship.

OOCOut of Character:
Try outs are closing tomorrow, this is your last chance to try out for a spot on the team :D

Joshua had no real aspiration to play quidditch, from what he could tell it was a sport not to be taken lightly. There were many reasons not to try out for quidditch, and he told himself it was crazy and insane, and he wasn't going to make the cut anyways. Joshua doubted himself before giving himself a fair go. Then day for tryouts came and all those doubts went soaring out the window but before he actually went down to the pitch Joshua created a list. Two list to be exact, one side he label pros and the other cons, again he was meant with those same doubts again. This time they were staring right back at him in his own writing. Joshua balled up the list, if he could join a club and write articles, quidditch will just have to be another frightening experience he willing to go through. Joshua arrived at the pitch as one of the few students left to tryout. "Hey, I'm Joshua and I'm trying out for ch-chaser," Joshua spoke slowly and calmly, his stammering was getting better. He credited speech therapy for that.

Joshua picked out a school broom since he didn't own one of his own. Joshua mounted the broomstick and took off. Joshua wasn't used to flying, he went spiraling to his left then right. It took him a good minute before he could balance himself on a broom properly and actually maneuver the thing to go in the right direction. He was meant with some laughing or concern, the boy reassured them he was fine. Then Joshua took the quaffle, Joshua thought of the times he would throw stones inside a back basket home, or the marbles he played with during the school break. Joshua imagine it was the same concept, the boy made the connection, and then toss his first shot in one of the hoops. It didn't go exactly as plan, though he tried again, and didn't think too much this time. Joshua steady his hand and then shoot the quaffle in. He scored, he barely score as he flew underneath and caught the quaffle again, in realty he scored. Feeling a bit more confidence, Joshua tried again and again. He wasn't too great at flying and throwing at the same time, Joshua took his chance with quidditch in the end. Joshua dismounted after he hit the ground feeling a bit more validated in himself.
