With the two contestants for the round in tow, Professor Summers lead them through the chamber, stopping short of a long, raised platform. "Alright, take your positions here, and here." He stated, motioning briefly to the far north and south sides of the platform. He explained the usual rules to follow, and how the point system applied to ensure a winning side. Stepping back, he allowed for a safe distance between himself and the duellists, before giving a thumbs up to begin. ​

After she had participated in the last dueling tournament, Clementine found it to be quite fun. She was not one for violence at all but she liked the practice it provided her and she liked participating in things so she had signed up again. She smiled brightly at her partner, bowing to them politely. With the same happy smile on her face, Clementine shot out the Jelly Fingers curse.

Ryuu Arai wanted to participate in more clubs that could earn him even more friends. Dressed in the girl's uniform for the event, Ryuu stepped onto the arena and aimed his wand, after bowing with respect. He didn't know the Hufflepuff at all, but she seemed really sweet looking. Ryuu didn't want to hurt her. But then she shot out a curse. Ryuu threw up a shield, before frowning slightly. He aimed and cast, "Stupefy!" But a part of him wanted to close his eyes because he almost didn't want it to hit her.

Clementine couldn't tell whether the opponent across from her was a boy or a girl, not that she minded either way, she just didn't know what pronoun to use so instead she kept thinking of them as 'they.' She was ready to block the spell they sent her way, and shot back "Tarantallegra!" She wanted to win this duel but she just hoped she wouldn't have to resort to hurting her opponent to do that.

Ryuu breathed a sigh of relief when the spell did not hit her. He smiled a little bit since he didn't want to really win this. He wanted to have some fun. Though he was sure that the president would have his head if he knew that. Ryuu dodged the spell that would make him dance uncontrollably. Ryuu called out, "This is fun!" The Ravenclaw thought over the spells and found one, "Rictusempra!"

Clementine was surprised to hear her opponent say this was fun, so she was unprepared for their spell. She managed to dodge it just in time, but she laughed anyway as if she had been hit. Her opponent reminded her of why she had signed up for the tournament in the first place. Last year she had tried out different defense spells on Teddy and it had been so fun which is why she had signed up, and this was just like that all over again. Clementine smiled brightly at the boy, glad they were both on the same page and wondered which spell to use next. She decided on, "Expelliarmus!" nothing harmless.

Ryuu was having too much fun, until his wand flew out of his hand. Ryuu attempted to cast something but it wasn't possible. Ryuu looked at his wandless hand and started to giggle. "Looks like you win!" Ryuu reached around and scratched the back of his head, unknown on what to do without his wand. He could try to tickle her to forfeiting but that would likely be illegal in the tournament. He didn't expect to win anyway. So, he was not disappointed.

Clementine didn't expect for her spell to hit successfully but when their wand flew out of their hand, she began to regret her decision to use that spell. She should've tried for a different, harmless one, but there were not too many to choose from since this was a dueling tournament after all. She was disappointed that the match was over because they were just getting started and having fun, so she was both happy to have won and sad for her partner. "Aw, good job though!!" she said to them encouragingly, hoping he wouldn't be upset with her. "We should practice together more!" she offered brightly.

Professor Summers had enjoyed spectating the duel, which lacked the bloodthirst of many of the other matches over the course of the event. It was refreshing to hear a kinder attitude over the more common bitter competitiveness. "As Arai is unable to continue, Pratt is the match winner. Congratulations!"
