Zayne Baros was graduating this year, engaged and ready to be married to his best friend whenever she wanted. He loved things right now. Everything seemed perfect. Holding his broom in his hand, he made his way down to the Quidditch pitch, where he waited for the other Slytherins that were interested to come forth. Once they had, he gave smile to the other captain before he turned and greeted the potential team, "So, just say your name, and then the position you are trying out for. I'll keep a tab of who will be doing what on a little sheet of parchment. Then for the chasers, I would like for you to grab a quaffle from the pile that I made for you. Keepers, I want you to go to the hoops and guard them. From the seekers, there are a couple of snitches flying around. Just catch them. And alternate beaters, since Isabella and I are the team Beaters, just guard the team from the bludgers." Zayne held out the sheet of parchment, and he looked up at the team go.
OOCOut of Character: Instructions
Just state your arrival and your try out into one. Make it creative. If your student has questions feel free to post them here, and I will have Zayne answer to them accordingly.
*First years that might be interested, you will have to contact the captains for approval first.

This year, Kailie prayed that she would not be made seeker. She had faith in her skills, and how she had helped the team to victory time and time again, but not as of recently. She did not really want to be a seeker again. She was once good at it, but she wanted to be a chaser. She smiled a bit at her reflection with her blonde hair tied back, emerald green uniforms, and a solid streak to match. She sighed and walked down to the pitch to see who the captain, or captains, were. She had no idea, and hoped that it wouldn't be someone that got on her nerves. Kailie entered the pitch to see that the captains were. One of them was the Isabella she had befriended somewhat in her first year, and the other was the prefect that seemed too nice. Both were prefects now, and she was quite glad that they were prefects. They deserved it. She strolled up to them and she said in a soft voice, "Kailie Styx. Trying for chaser. I suppose I can try out for seeker if you need one." She did not really want any other position on the team. Chaser was the most active, and she believed that to be her calling, but she can settle for seeker. So it was being a chaser. She knew how to handle one, and she was pretty skillful at making the goals. She walked over to the pile of quaffles, and she took one. Holding it under her arm, she mounted her broom and she took to the skies.

The fifth year looked around to see who else was trying out for the chaser position. Hopefully no one that she had a major competition with. She narrowed her eyes at the keeper, and she sped forward, her icy blue eyes looking for a way to score. Kailie continued to fly forward, and she tossed the quaffle toward the hoop, but it was blocked successfully. She simply nodded, since the keeper was pretty good. She caught the quaffle and she circled around to try once more. Kailie continued to try to score, and she did not get blocked that often, but she made a few good shots as well. She thought that with this, she would be getting on the team one way or another. Her skills were good enough anyway. She had been on the team since she was a second year, which seemed so long ago. Now she was going to have to go seek some golden snitches. She flew up higher after surrendering the quaffle. She managed to catch a snitch three times before the try outs were over. Kailie landed on the ground with ease. She smiled to the captains, something that would not happen much. She left the pitch to go do something, but she didn't know what to do. Kailie shrugged her shoulders and she left lawns to go inside of the castle.

Isabella was thankful that Zayne was going to start the tryouts, because Isabella was running a little bit late. It was his last year anyways. He should want to be the one who started it. If Isabella had done a better job packing her things away before she left for school, she might have had an easier time trying to find her Quidditch gear. Luckily, after a good fifteen minutes of tearing her stuff apart, she had found what she needed and was on her way to the Quidditch Pitch. Isabella could already see Zayne and Kailie at the pitch, so thankfully she wasn't too behind. Enough to the point where she wouldn't look too bad for being late. "Sorry." Isabella had to remind herself that instead of being rude, she just needed to not say anything. So instead all she could mutter was a quiet apology for being late. Being late wasn't a very good way to show that she was a co-captain, but if she could have helped it, she totally would have. Isabella decided to be quiet and just asses those trying out. There wasn't really much need for her to do anything else but that, Zayne seemed to be doing a pretty good job doing what he was supposed to be doing.

Albie strolled down to the pitch, broomstick in hand. He was still a little put out that his team wouldn't even let him on the pitch in their game last year, and he hoped to prove that he was worthwhile this year. He hadn't been able to fly much over the holidays, living in a muggle area, but at least he'd gotten to play plenty of rugby, and he'd kept himself in good shape. He'd even had a go at some more unusual sports, like fencing. Sports were what Albie lived for, and he hoped that Quidditch would prove to be one of his strengths.

He nodded politely at the others assembled before approaching the captain. "Hi. Albie Vermeulen. Trying out for Keeper. Or Chaser." Albie wasn't bulky or anything, but he had enough muscle and strength (as well as good hand-eye co-ordination and speed) to hold his own as a defender. He'd gotten in a little practice before they'd started, as it was, and he thought he'd be a decent Keeper. Still, he put himself down as a Chaser too, just in case (and it was always good to keep his options open).

Taking off in to the sky, Albie got in a couple of laps to warm up before settling in front of the goals. A girl trying for chaser almost immediately took a shot and he very nearly missed, but he had his head in the game today, so he managed to catch it successfully. He knew that she was just warming up though. She was a very good chaser, and while he started off going easy on her and letting her build her confidence, he found that he didn't need to after a while, she was just good at what she was doing. Of course, he knew he had to perform at his best to impress, so he made a few decent saves too. A couple of other chasers made a few attempts - he blocked a few, but he let a couple in too. Sure, he was competitive, but it was good to help people out at the same time. He made sure he didn't let too many in, of course. He had to make himself look good too.

After a while he let someone else take on the role of Keeper, and he grabbed a Quaffle and made a few shots on goal of his own. He was pleased to get a few shots in, and he was also pleased that his replacement managed to stop a few as well. It was important, he knew, that when in a team, it wasn't about the performance of the individual. You had to take pride in your teammates achievements, and you had to work together for the betterment of the group.

Feeling rather pleased with the proceedings, Albie bid the captains a jovial farewell, before heading off to the lawn for a jog. It was important to get as much fresh air as possible before cooping himself up inside.

Instead of consuming the kind of breakfast she normally ate, Artemis Jackson gave in to a little more just so she still had energy at the end of the morning. Lunch was a long way from now so she had to fill herself with food. Today, the main event was the Quidditch tryouts for Slytherin and based on experience, the usual Keeper of the team knew that it would take a whilst before she would get to go back to the ground. It felt nice to be thinking about Quidditch again, without the stress of the OWLs. As soon as she saw the announcement of the captains in the common room, Artemis immediately readied her gear and whatnot. The young lady held her broom in one grip as her thumb rubbed the woody part of it. She missed flying in the Quidditch Pitch and today, she would be doing it again. The weather was not so bad for flying, thankfully, which elevated her spirits up in just a second. Artemis stepped onto the pitch finally, spotting the one of the co captains of her house team.

Patiently she waited and gradually, the people who were to try out gathered. Zayne Baros, who was among the oldest of the Slytherin prefects, gave out the usual instructions. Artemis knew what she position she wanted, which was still the same as ever. She looked at the faces who decided to try out and waited for her turn to speak. However, there was a boy who was before her who intoned that he wanted to try for Keeper and Chaser. Artemis stared at him for a millisecond and felt the spark of competitiveness ignite. She knew that he was a transfer last year and was also made Chaser that same year. All she could do though was to rely on her skills and hope for the best. When it was her turn, she spoke up. "Artemis Jackson, going for Keeper," said Artemis. She waited for the rest to introduce themselves and finally mounted and flew up to the hoops she normally guarded. Then, finally when everybody was settled, she let the adrenalin flow and began.

The Slytherin flew around the hoops first, touching it, since it has been a long time ever since the hoops within her reach. Flying through the center goal, she stationed herself just before the massive hoops and looked out for any Chasers. It was not long before someone flew to her and tried to take a shot but she successfully blocked the goal. She threw the Quaffle at another Chaser and let them practice with it. Someone threw in the Quaffle again but she saved it, but for the next shot, luck wasn't paying attention to her. It happened so fast when the scarlet ball just came rushing to the hoops and Artemis nearly caught it, but it went through. However, Artemis still dove for it and threw it back to them before returning to her post. The Slytherin was keener than ever on the field and her senses were on high alert most of the time. During the tryouts the Chasers tried a lot of times to get score shots - some, Artemis had easily caught whereas the rest were just an inch or two away from her fingers. The process remained the same for the young lady, until time was up and the tryouts were over. Artemis flew around the hoops again before flying back to the ground. She always managed to have fun during the tryouts - the thrill just never ran out.

Una was glad to be away from her grandma. Her break had sucked and now she was even surprised that she was looking forward to the new year. something she had never thought she would say. the truth is that she had some proper friends here unlike any of her last firends. and she had some how managed to get asked to be in charge of the muggle sports club. which was coing to be interesting. she wanted to talk to the leader about pasabble managing to get them to a beach to go surfing in the summer. and before them she was thinking maybe basketball or like albie had sugested backyard cricket.
She was running a little late for the quidditch tryouts as she couldnt find her broom. Her grandma had insisted on packing her trunk and she had already noticed a slight lack of things she liked and more skirts and dresses. she eventually found the broom hidden in the bottom underneath the boots that her grandma had said would be bart of her halloween codtume along with some brightly coloured something that she hadn't looked at. she put on her flying geer and ran out to the quidditch pitch. she stopped as she reached it and took a minute to catch her breath seeing some other people take off. she then walked over to the captins. "Hey guys. I am Una Kickett and I am trying out for Beater or chaser again" she said. she always thought she would be a better beater but she had been surprised as to how she had played as chaser the previous year.
soon she took to the air her firebolt feeling happy to be out of the trunk. she took a lap of the pitch and then dove into the sort of game that was taking place. people showing off their skill. she caught the quaffle when it was thrown out from the goal and flew with it for a bit before passing it on. a short time later she caught another one and this time headed towards the goal. she aimed seeing her dorm mate was playing keeper but didn't let that effect her. she double bluffed and managed to get it into the left ring before turning and letting someone else have a go. it was a few minutes later she took another shot at the other goal and this time the keeper managed to save it.
Deciding that now would be a good time to have a play at beater. she took a bat and then took to the air again. the chased after the bludgers and hut them away from the other players, at one stage she managed to chase one down and aimed it though the goal on the opposite end of the pitch where there were no keepers as they were switching positions. she was pretty happy with it and wasn't sure if it was a flute or not. Eventually it was time to land. she made her way down to the pitch and put the bat away. before waiting to hear who had made the team.
