This was Kate's second year as Co-Captain of the Quidditch team. Last year had not been a good year. Some members of the team had not been reliable and Kate really wanted a team that she could rely on. This was Kate's last year and she would like to win something. Things were good this year. She was head girl, she had Stefan and she had her friends. Life was good and winning a match would be an added bonus. She was slightly nervous about Stefan watching her. He had never seen her play before. She loved having him around, instead of waiting months in between visits. This was more of a stable relationship. She loved spending time with him. Her mind sometimes went to her sister. Kate wasn't sure if her new look was permanent. Kate really didn't mind if this was a phase, everyone was entitled to find themselves and though some may be more extreme everyone had the right. What was bothering Kate was why Sara had chosen to do this now. There was no real change in her life other then the fact she would unable to become an auror, but maybe that meant more to her then she thought. For now she had to focus on the group of people in front of her. She eyed them all. She looked over at Hades, gave a slight nod before turning back to the group this time was a friendly smile on her face."So guys, here is what you will do. Please give us your name and position you are trying out for. Then, Chasers, please grab a quaffle and practice practicing and throwing them into the hoops. Keepers, go to the hoops and guard. Seekers, there are golden snitches flying around, so go find them. Finally, beaters, there are bludgers flying around so guard the team. That's all so everyone off you go. We will be watching down here"She said smiling. "Good Luck" She said smiling. She hoped there were be some good players.

OOCOut of Character:
All you have to do is post one. Post your arrival and trying out. The more creative you make it and the more effort you put in wil increase your chances of being picked. Good luck
Also there may be the case when not enough people reply. If this happens first years if ye are interested shoot me or Hades Lutrov II a pm

JazzyMae was really looking forward to another year on the Quidditch team. Last year, they had given her the position of Chaser instead of Beater. She had dealt with their decision fairly well. She had totally trashed her room, but she was all good now. She still thought being a Beater was better. She would most likely be trying out for both this year, and she didn't mind either. Life had become much easier for the Hufflepuff. She got what she wanted through hard work, and she had been practicing all summer for this day. JazzyMae walked onto the Pitch with her hair in a ponytail and her Sienna Storm in her hands. She wondered how many people would be trying out this year. Hopefully, enough so that she wouldn't have to be a Chaser again. She waved at Kate before she spoke. "JazzyMae Della-Robbia for Beater or Chaser." she smiled. She grabbed a quaffle, mounted her broom, and took off into the sky. It felt so good to be the air. It was like she was free from everything else. Quidditch was the only thing on her mind. She flew towards the hoops and she tossed the quaffle towards the center hoop. Daring, but it did not matter because she made it in. The person playing Keeper passed the quaffle back to her. She flew up higher to see if she could get a shot from a different angle. She had found one on the left hoop. She zoomed down and tossed the quaffle towards the left hoop. The Keeper had saw her coming and blocked her shot. JazzyMae practiced shooting at the goal until a bludger zoomed passed her. Time for a switch. JazzyMae passed the quaffle to another Chaser, and she flew down and picked up a bat. This was her element. She was definitely not going to bomb try-outs for this position. JazzyMae flew up high. For her, it was always easier to spot bludgers. She found several. JazzyMae down and, with all her might, swung a bludger out of the way of a Chaser. Watching bludgers fly away made her giggle. She batted away another bludger that was heading towards a Seeker. She batted away two more bludgers so that they would not be in the way. She was on a roll. It was fun.

Sarah stood in front of the mirror, finishing pulling her hair up into her two high pigtails. She was wearing her Hufflepuff Quidditch gear, and nodded to herself, satisfied with her appearance. Today was the first day she could try out for Quidditch as she was too young last year, but this year she intended on making a good impression. Hufflepuff had been crushed last year, and Sarah planned on making Hufflepuff proud of this year, as Sarah planned on taking them to the final match at the very least, even if she had to push the captains out of the way to do it herself.

Grabbing her new streak that she saved up her money for, and slinging her bag over her shoulder, Sarah hurried down to the Quidditch Pitch, not wanting to be late. However, when she arrived, there were only two people there. The captain, the one that the gossip paper had been picking on a lot lately, and a girl that Sarah didn't know. Anyone else might have been intimidated by two older girls than her, that were obviously more developed, and probably already started dating, but not Sarah. She simply walked over, and stood in front of Kate, dropping her bag on the ground. 'Sarah Keith. Trying for Chaser.' Mounting her streak, she flew up into the air, and caught the Quaffle that was thrown towards her from JazzyMae. Leaning forward on her broom so she was as flat as possible, and using her legs to control the broom and holding on tightly, she flew as fast as she could to the goal posts. This was where her small height came into advantage, because she was so small, she could duck down low, and almost become invisible, thus making her a harder target. Once she reached the post, she feinted to the left and threw to the right, showing that she could feint. The Quaffle went into the goal posts, before being thrown back to her again. This time she flew backwards slightly, and threw a hard shot at the left, this time the Keeper had expected her to throw to the right again, and had flew off in that direction, and by the time that they had realised, it was too late. She allowed herself a small smile, before catching the Quaffle once more, and throwing it into the centre hoop, the Keeper had dived for it, but the Quaffle had glanced off their fingers, and fell in again.

Sarah smiled once more in satisfaction, hoping that she had given herself the best opportunity to show off her skill, and passed the Quaffle onto the next player, leaning down low again, and flying around the pitch three times at the top of her speed to show how fast she could truly fly. When she was finished, she leaned forward, and dismounted, walking over to stand near Kate, and watch the rest of the try-outs, hoping she had impressed Kate.

Proserpina Laurent thought that today was one of the best days of her life, if she could manage to stay on the broom. Proserpina knew that this might have been her sister's sport, but she had dropped out of school, and ran off with some other boy. Proserpina was of course devastated that she did not get to share her news of becoming a prefect. Proserpina felt alone in the school, but it was her sister's choice, and she was happy for her big sister. Proserpina was going to remain behind, learn while she can so she can one day become a healer. She at first wanted to become an Auror, but she did not want to fight people. Fighting was not in her lovable nature. She could hug criminals to death, warm their hearts, maybe, but that would only work in a Disney movie anyway. No one would ever take her seriously if she actually did that to cure people of evil deeds. So she was going to heal everyone, and maybe even become a midwife so that she could help the women here give birth to little magical children. Oh she thought that would be amazing! That was her future.

The Hufflepuff Prefect skipped down to the pitch and she smiled at the Captains. She just hoped that they would accept her. She did not have too many skills, but she might be good enough. She announced in a pleasant tone, "Hi! I'm Proserpina Laurent. I am trying out for Keeper!" Proserpina waited until she was free to mount the broom and go up to guard the hoops. She looked to the other captain, the one that gave her the shivers. She shook her head and she mounted her broom, where she soared up and went to one of the hoops. Proserpina had to make sure that her balance was good enough, and she held her broom carefully. It was a new broom for her, an Amethyst streak. She just hoped that the chasers would take it easy on her since she had never played the sport before, and never really took p flying that much either. However it was unlikely that they would even show the slightest amount of mercy. Surely another keeper would be doing well, but she could try her little Hufflepuff heart out when it came to doing this. She prepared herself as she saw a couple of chasers heading her way.

Seeing a quaffle fly, she somehow flew up and she caught the quaffle before it went into the hoops. She beamed, "Oh my gosh I did it!" What luck! She tossed it back to the chasers and she hoped that she would be able to do that again. During the time she was trying out, she caught a couple more, and she accidentally let a couple in as well. She actually did pretty well for someone that had never played Quidditch people. She had always watched and cheered for her sister. But those days are over. She flew back down and she landed once try outs were over. She smiled to the captains before she walked off.

If being Co-Captain with Kate Moon, the school's Drama Queen was not bad enough, Hades Lutrov the Second heard that she was Head Girl too. Hades thought that the school was really sinking to low levels when it came to choosing head people. From Briar, to Kate and even the Headmistress, the woman that was on happy pills or something. How he would love to feed them to a bunch of lethifolds, if he had some on hand. Hades made his way to the pitch, where he forced himself to hold up that cold appearance. Unsure of how long he could hold it up for and make it last. He looked to the ground for a moment, and the sixth year shifted his prefect badge around. He looked to Kate Moon for a second, and figured that she would want to lead the group this time, since he took charge last time. He stepped back, and decided that letting her for the last year would be almost nice of him. It was a shame that he really did not care. He looked over the team, and he watched them as they tried out. He did not bother with giving them a word of good luck. That was not worth it. If they needed luck to be on the team, then they did not have enough skills. It was as simple as that. He could not help but wonder if his girlfriend was going to try out again this year. He sort of needed her there to keep from slaughtering people, if it ever came to that anyway.

It was another day of excitement for young Hufflepuff, Ai Edogawa. There were a lot of miserable things that happened to her over vacation and even the start of classes, and meeting a boy named Liam was one of the worst. She figured that she needed to do something she enjoyed, and looking at the Hufflepuff bulletin board, the right chance to relax was given to her. Quidditch try-outs. Of course, Ai had already been a Keeper for Hufflepuff last year, but she really didn't do a very good job out of it, but now, she was willing to do her best for the team. She needed some form of break, enjoyment and challenge while dealing with most of her problems, and Quidditch was perfect. She started practicing right away as soon as she knew about the try out.

Days passed, and soon the day of the try-outs came. Ai woke up early and began to take a bath and soon enough, she was down at the Great Hall for a good breakfast. She needed it and she knew it. Not only for energy but for reassurance as well, she wanted to eat to reassure herself that she would be fine no matter what the outcome may be. It took her a few minutes to get dresses in her Quidditch uniform which she admitted was not used to wearing, but it was fine with her too. She grabbed her broom and went down to the Quidditch Pitch.

She wasn't the first to arrive. Kate was already there and so was Hades. She also saw JazzyMae and two more girls she didn't know. But it was fine with her. She wasn't the only one trying out for Keeper as well, but it was alright with her. Last year, she tried out for Seeker, but she wasn't very good with the seeking, and was better and more used to being a Keeper. "Ai Edogawa. Trying out for Keeper again," she said with a smile. "You'll do fine. Just catch some balls, stay in the air, keep your balance," she thought to herself as she mounted her broom and taking off to guard the three hoops.

Seeing chasers zooming around the pitch was indeed nostalgic. She had already been in three games and today was her second try out, but she would never get tired of watching the scene from above. It was then that Ai saw a quaffle approaching the hoop at her right, the Hufflepuff zoomed into position and caught the quaffle just in time before throwing it back to the chasers. Another quaffle was aimed at the leftmost hoop, and with enough luck, she caught it again, but the third quaffle she wasn't so lucky, it went through, but she was determined to not let it happen again. Ai kept her concentration and caught the rest of the quaffles. Happy with her performance during try-outs, she went back to the Great Hall for a well-deserved meal.

OOCOut of Character:
We need the following: Chaser or Beater and Seeker.
First years are free to post, but try outs are ending later today. Or else we will have to manipulate what we have.

Eugene walked onto the Quidditch pitch. He was brimming with excitement but he tried his best to keep it under control.Trying out for seeker would be hard and it was one of the most important positions on the team so Eugene had to take it very seriously. He had also wondered whether he should try out at all because he didn't know if he was worthy of the position or not. After all he was just a first year. But then he had recieved some very encouraging words from their flying professor,Professor Mik, and he had advised Eugene to try-out for the house team in their very first lesson. That had given him a good amount of self confidence and so he had decided that it was worth a shot.

The team co-captain,Eugene recalled that her name was Kate Moon, who was also the head girl and a very pretty one, and the other co-captain whose name he didn't know, and who looked too scary to be friendly, were already on the pitch and when all the people trying out for the team had arrived, they were asked to give their names and positions that they would be trying for. When it was his turn,Eugene smiled shyly and said,"Hey,I'm Eugene Smythe, trying out for Seeker." he told her. Then he waited for more instructions. Kate told them what to do and it was simple enough to understand.

"This is easy, you can do it! You've had the most practice as a seeker! You can do it!" Eugene murmured under his breath as he went to take a school broom. The truth was that Eugene had only ever played the position of a seeker. He had never practiced as a chaser or keeper because he didnt have friends to play the opposing positions with him. On the other hand,a seeker was part of the team but he worked on his own and didn't need anything except a snitch to play. That was why Eugene had only practiced as a seeker with his father's snitch. He had been a lonely child. But if he got selected for the team,he could be a team player for once.

He got a firebolt which was awesome news since seekers had to be fast.He mounted his broom and gripped tight, his nerves tingled with excitement and his whole body was now awake. He kicked hard off the ground and shot into the sky.The feeling of wind against his face and the speed took his breath away as usual. He rose higher and higher until he was about ten feet above the chasers and keepers who were working at both ends of the pitch. He was exactly in the middle of the pitch and it was a great vantage point. His eyes searched the pitch below like an eagle looking for his prey. He turned his broom slowly in a circle to examine the pitch from every degree of the pitch.

And then far off in the north side behind the left hoop just near the ground he saw a golden glinting ball.Without a moment's hesitation, the turned his broom and made a beeline for the snitch. He accelerated to the highest speed that the broom had to offer and just when he was within three feet of the snitch, it shot up vertically into the sky.Eugene was not plummeting at 120 miles per hour towards the ground. With all his strength and will power,Eugene pulled out of the dive and shot upwards behind the snitch. He was just five feet away from it.He stretched out his arm,as far as it would go and threw himself upwards at the snitch. He caught it with the tips of his fingers and then closed his hand around it.The golden winged ball fluttered helplessly in his fist and he punched the air with triumpth. And then he noticed the watch on his wrist. It had only taken him two minutes to catch it.

I bet I can beat that time he though as he let the snitch go and gave it a 10 second head start. Then he zoomed off behind it, zigzagging around the chasers and swerving as bludgers came his way.He was almost at the other end of the field and his right hand was stretched out, just a few inches away from the snitch and then the snitch abruptly changed its course and was now flying over his head to the north side again. But Eugene had quick reflexes. His other hand left the broom and snatched the snitch out of the air. The problem was that he wasnt holding his broom any more. The broom was moving forward at full speed and Eugene was dangling on it upside down by his feet that were wrapped around it.Uh-oh he thought as he saw that his head was going to crash against the middle hoop's ring in three seconds. His hand's couldn't reach his broom because of the crazy speed so he forced himself to bend at the waist (which was really hard at that moment) and wrapped both his arms around the broom. He rolled in midair and finally got on the right side up as he flew over the hoop.

Disaster averted, phew! He thought as he checked the time.It had taken him only a minute this time.He flew slowly towards the ground and landed. And then the tryouts were over so he felt relieved. He had looked forward to them so much that now he felt like a big weight had lifted off him.He felt happy at his performance and he hoped that he would make it onto the team though he was still doubting it.He loved Quidditch and he knew he could give his best to the team if he was chosen. But that choice depended on the captain and Eugene was certain that if there was a seeker better than him, then he would be alright with it if he didn't get picked.
