Set in the Greenhouses a few days before graduation.
This would be the last chance Ten had to lead the Wild Patch Club before she was gone from the school for good. In some ways she was looking forward to what came next, whatever that would look like. On the other side however she found that at school she had a place that she felt safe and comfortable, and friends around her that she could trust. How would things change when they were no longer beside her? She was going to need to start fresh, all over again. Her friends would just be other wizards and witches going about their own lives and at times Ten wondered whether she'd be forgotten about after graduating.
The redhead cleared her throat, "Welcome to the Wild Patch," she told the group, waiting for them to stop nattering amongst themselves for a few minutes so she could explain why they were currently in the chilly glass house. At least they were sheltered from the majority of the elements in here. "Today we need to harvest some of trees and bushes in here. There's a feast coming up as you probably already know, and while it's great to have pies and cake on the table, we're here to make sure there's fruit, too." Just because they could grow magical plants didn't mean they should forgo looking after those that were useful on a day to day basis too.
"Take a basket and a pair of gloves if you're feeling especially precious about the softness of your fingers," the prefect gestured to a pile beside her of woven baskets and leather gloves, that would be much too cumbersome for herself, but they were there if others needed them, "and get to work!" This was meant to be fun, everyone was here because this was the sort of thing they were supposed to enjoy doing. "Apples and pears are on the trees to the left," she didn't bother pointing. If they didn't know their left and right's by now there was no hope. "Strawberries, blueberries, peaches and nectarines can be found down the middle, and don't forget about the lemons and limes behind me," Some of the fruit would be served as they were, others may have been turned into a jam and others could be used as a garnish to make meals more interesting. "I don't mind if you eat some while you harvest, but remember these need to be used during the feast too, so lets at least leave a few yeah?" Ten picked up one of the baskets closest to her and hoped that if anyone needed help distinguishing what they needed to pick, they'd come and seek her out. She would be sad to let the club go after this event, it was nice to be able to see others out here in the room she spent so much time in, but Amortentia was hopeful that her successor would also do a fine job of leading the students in the right direction.
