Ten was glad that for her final year she was hosting the events for the Wild Patch Club. From seventh years to first, they all had one thing in common and that was their interest in plants. It wasn't always the plants in the greenhouses though that were important. Plants had an important part to play in a variety of situations and as long as they were treated with respect, they could be used even for decoration. "Okay, okay," Ten clapped her hands together, standing on a bench in the Great Hall in an attempt to get a bit of height over the crowd of students who'd joined them, "Oi, put that down," she yelled at one of the students who had started to do something questionable with one of the branches of mistletoe.

"Right, as you probably know, unless you're a first year, the Great Hall gets a bit of a makeover for Christmas." Sure they could leave it up to the house elves to magic each bauble onto the large tree, but Ten thought it would be more fun for the group to do something physical with their plants. "I need a group of you to go and fetch that tree," she said, pointing to the back of the hall where a huge pine tree lay horizontal in the doorway, "and stick it over there." It would look nice in the corner of the hall, at the front where everyone could see it. "I don't care if you use magic or elbow grease but we need to get this room looking suitable for the season." Ten put her hands on her hips before continuing. "There's sprigs of mistletoe that need to be placed in appropriate places on the tree, and those branches down there are for turning into Christmas wreaths that we can hang up around it too," she added, pointing out to a mound of leafy sticks, ripe for the crafting. "Once everything in place, you'll find baubles, tinsel and lights in that trunk that you can use to decorate the branches." That was about it, wasn't it? It might not be perfect, but it could be nice for them to be able to say they were the ones that put the tree together this year.

Juniper liked the Wild Patch Club, but she was intimidated by older students and currently the leader was intimidating. Only because she seemed so well fit to lead and Juniper was scared she was going to mess up and ruin the whole decorating. So she'd gone for the branches, making wreaths out of them. She added whatever lights and other things there were into them, using a little magic here and there to make sure she didn't harm the plants. It was nice, calming even. Slowly everything else around her drifted away as she focused on her task of creating and hanging up wreaths.

Genuinely Gaia kind of couldn't care less for decorating the castle, but she supposed she'd suffer through it because it meant dealing with plants in one way or another. Glancing at the tree she decided swiftly she'd not be moving it, leave that for the bigger, stronger students. Thank you very much! Instead once the tree was in place she took to placing the mistletoes on whatever place seemed like it'd be appropriate. If it wasn't up to the Gryffindor Prefects standards then that was her fault, she'd not given much more direction than appropriate and the place seemed fine enough for Gaia as she placed them around the branches.

Charlotte always felt weird around the holidays, unsure of whether she'd actually see her dad and not really a fan of any the traditions her mum kept trying to start. But right now, she was here at school and could focus on the constant of the Great Hall, which always boosted everyone's moods (or she hoped) once it became festive. She listened to their leader and was a bit worried about messing things up but decided to help one of her fellow Hufflepuffs with the wreaths. "Do you think this one looks good here?" she asked. @Juniper Veritas

Mary Paige always enjoyed Christmas time in England. It was something about the weather and markets and decorations that just brought about some extra joy. Seeing as the weather was much different this time of year in New Zealand, Mary Paige was having a hard time adjusting to the idea of it being Christmas, but here they were, putting up a tree and getting ready to decorate. Once the tree was up, she grabbed some lights, seeing as they should be the first thing to be put on in her opinion, and wondered if she could adequately do it with magic.

Juniper was vaguely aware people joined her on the wreath making and hanging, but she was so nervous of messing up something that her full focus was on the task. She didn't mind it that way either, she liked it, but when one of her fellow Hullfepuffs seemingly asked for her opinion Juni blinked twice at the girl. The looking at the placement of her wreath she smiled and gave a nod. "I think that's looks beautiful there." She said in a soft voice, adding another wreath close by. "It's nice that we are adding festive things, makes the space feel and look more homey," Juni added glancing at the older girl nervously, hoping her attempt at making conversation wasn't stepping over any lines. @Charlotte Astor Williams
