set over Y28 Holiday Break in the United States

Dominik Perrie was beyond nervous. There were so many ways that this plan could go wrong, however, that did not stop the Gryffindor from having his parents bring him to the United States. He and Velma had agreed to meet at a cafe nearby, and he was about ten minutes early. He paced in front of the cafe as he twiddled with his fingers. Dominik was never like this. He was ongoing seventh year who had no fears. But he could not help but think that Velma would be disappointed in him. His grades weren't the best, and the only things he was good at were memorization and acting on rash decisions. His low self-esteem was also a fault of his.

Dominik took a deep breath and charged into the cafe with confidence. He was not going to let this meeting break him. He had siblings and a whole new family for crying out loud. He needed to be excited, not worried. Plus, it was only his sister that he was meeting. She was probably more spooked than he was. She had found out that her parents had abandoned their first child. The boy took a seat at a table and tried to avoid ordering coffee, which would only make his anxiety worse.

There were countless factors that lead up to that day, and all of them replayed in Velma's mind as she prepared herself to leave the house that morning. Her nerves were stronger than she ever anticipated, leaving her second guessing her choices and even making her reconsider meeting the guy that she now knew was her older brother. But the knowledge that he was her family, no matter what her parents had done kept her going, and she eventually powered through every negative feeling she had. She finally had the older sibling she always wanted, someone to look up to and rely on for help and that was worth getting over her nerves. No matter what Dominik was like in person, and even if he wasn't the big brother she hoped he would be, they finally needed to meet face to face instead of talking in letters. Velma knew she at least owed Dominik that much, and left her house that day feeling confident in the meeting despite her apprehension of the unknown.

Velma made sure to tell her younger siblings where she was going but left no detail of who she was meeting, instead telling them when she would be back and giving each of them a hug and kiss goodbye. She then made her way to the cafe they agreed to meet at, looking around as she arrived a few minutes late. When her eyes landed on a boy sitting alone at a table she smiled and waved nervously. Given the cafe was reasonably empty, she assumed this was Dominik, and quickly approached the table. "Dominik?" She queried, looking the boy up and down again to fully remember his appearance. "It's nice to finally meet you, I'm Velma." She then added, smiling wider when the introductions were over.

Sorry this took so long!! I promise I'll be quicker next time
