Working in a shop

Ok I just starting working in Brightstone General Store, and I'm wondering is there anything that shop assisstants should do (apart from sell things) and what are the rules for when shop assisstants want to buy something in the shop that they work in?

There isn't really much else student workers do apart from selling stuff, and for purchasing things in a store you work at, you can treat it as though you're in a different shop, unless there is some sort of employee discount that was made clear by the shop owner.
