Why is it so cold?!

Having just come from summer, Avery was absolutely freezing here in New Zealand. Britain usually felt cold an damp, but the shock of coming from sun to frost was making this little country at the bottom of the world seem a lot worse. Tucking her hands inside her mittens, Avery walked out of the front doors of the castle, reluctant to leave it's warmth as icy air her face. She kept walking however, determined to get outside and finally take a look around the grounds that she had been admiring from the Gryffindor Girl's dormitories. This school had to be one of the most amazing places she'd been to, and she was happy with every that had happened to far, including her house. A bright smile lit up her face as she remembered the Sorting Hat's words as she sat on the stool a couple of days earlier. For some silly reason Avery had thought that her height -Or lack thereof- would affect her placing in a house. She'd always received teasing about being vertically challenged, and had thought it might not make her considered for Gryffindor. For some reason she could only imagine brave people to be tall. I must be an exception she thought to herself. Avery was feeling so happy she almost wanted to skip down across The Lawn, however she knew how bad of an idea that would be. She knew that she would find herself on her face in the grass. Not heading in any particular direction, Avery could see a person up ahead. Being bold and unafraid of meeting new people, she decided to head towards them.

If one thought that a Ravenclaw was just into books and all for reading, one would be in for a wake up call when they saw little Isaia Romanes because he was not the one to read all the time. No, Isaia liked to do other things other than just read and study. Isaia was a nervous child however, as he was a little too nervous about not being in a house with at least one of his siblings. Ostensia was in Hufflepuff, and Isabella was in the house of Slytherin, and here he was in Ravenclaw. Isaia did not know anyone, but it was about time that he did. Wearing his Ravenclaw uniform, with his tie and everything in the colors of blue and bronze, he descended the towers. He wanted to venture outdoors, so he did not mind it being too cold, because it was Spring here, though he was shocked to get out of the heat of summer in Italy to come here to New Zealand. He would have to get used to the weather here. It seemed like he would never see snow again unless he stayed at Hogwarts for the Christmas holidays. Isaia stepped onto the great lawn, and he realized just how big this place was. He was amazed, how in the world could anyone manage to walk around this place without getting lost? The small Raven, being rather puny because he had missed a growth spurt or something, barely exceeding four feet nine inches but not even close to ten inches yet. He was just rather skinny, and would be an easy subject to be picked on. Isaia was easily scared, but he wanted to be brave, for the sake of his family’s name. Isaia walked onto the lawn and he moved his blonde hair away from his cloudy blue eyes full of innocence. He was just standing there, admiring the scenery, when someone approached him. A girl, and because Isaia did not realize that girls were completely normal yet, he was a little uneasy. But Isaia found his inner bravery and he smiled at the girl, “Hi, are you a first year too?” He had just said his age, but he was not afraid that someone would pick on him. Though his English was a little fast, and almost hard to understand, but he was getting a good grip on it the more he used it.
