Whispering Corridor

"I will be obviously defenseless." Artemis stated, with a slight frown on her features. Without the presence of her wand, Artemis would immediately go crazy if ever there will be that kind of situation. With all the danger that there is to offer, she would definitely lose. Such a pessimist she is, isn't she? Pessimism is not something Artemis argues with. She herself could be sometimes called a pessimist in times that there is absolute trouble ahead. Meanwhile, different qualities in the Slytherin house ran over Artemis' mind, making her forget those stupid imaginations that she will probably encounter in the future. Cunning, ambitious, contains leadership skills, power hungry; all of those were quite connected to evil intentions somehow, but Artemis chose the best of them all. "Leadership. I guess that could be one." Artemis replied, thinking how could this possibly apply to Minoas. He could possibly be a leader. But not just in any particular branch. Maybe a captain in one of the most famous Quidditch teams. That is somehow considered to be connected to leadership, hopefully. Artemis then imagined the Gryffindor having a role in one of those famous teams. She knew that he had a chance and he'll get a chance soon, but Artemis might not. She wasn't anymore absorbed into Quidditch lately. It seemed strange, yes, but she has to deal with more important stuff. "Not really. I haven't owled my parents in such a long time. I'll just wait for my sister to arrive here Hogwarts I guess." Artemis said with no interest at all to see her family in England. There wasn't anything to do there except force herself to converse with Alliyah, her perfect sister and repeat the cycle for more than a week!

"Leadership huh?" repeated Minoas right after Artemis. He paused for a few moments thinking about that quality. It was a good one, although he couldn't imagine himself as a leader. Not for now. "Yeah that sounds a good one. That's my slytherin quality." he said with a smile, content with the characteristic that Artemis gave him.

Minoas was really looking forward for his holidays. His parents had announced him that they were going to visit back Greece and he was really pleased with that. He was really sick of the cold weather. He was used to the warm climates, the sea and the sun. In addition, he was going to see again his big family that they had left back there. Minoas studied once more the girl's expressions. She didn't look enthusiastic for the upcoming holidays. He had the impression that Artemis would prefer to stay at Hogwarts rather than leave. "I send owls with my family all the time. I have a typical greek mother. If she was aloud she would have found a way to be in Hogwarts just to make sure that I eat properly and that I stay out of trouble." he said with a chuckle about his mother. She was a little bit pressuring sometimes but Minoas loved her so much.

He then remembered that time he met Artemis' sister, during the last semester's break. "Oh, I just remembered! I have met your sister. Ally right? Such a good person and really into photography..." he said as the memory fashed back from the depths of his mind. "How do you feel that your sister will be around? Personally, I feel so relieved that my brothers will attend Hogwarts when I'll graduate. But still they are going to ruin my good reputation..." sighed Minoas, referring to his troublesome little brothers.

It seemed to Artemis that she was looking at the future captain of a Quidditch team. She could imagine him lead the team into victory almost every year until their retirement. The Slytherin gave him a smile too when he said he liked the quality enough for himself. Artemis' thoughts drifted to her family who are currently residing in New Zealand, somewhere inside the grounds of the magical folk. Her father, who is always busy as always is probably going somewhere away again to associate with different people to discover and study more about the wizarding world. Meanwhile, Artemis' mother is probably busy again with her patients in the muggle world. Gwyneth Jackson is a cardiovascular surgeon which means she operates muggles with a large amount of money as a payment. "My mother and I are not that close." Artemis said with an i-don't-really-care-about-her-look. Gwyneth usually pays more attention to her sister, Alliyah who just looks almost like her mother except for the hair. Alliyah has black hair just like her father and Artemis inherited the blonde hair from her mother. "She is more fond my sibling." Artemis finished. Speaking of sibling, Artemis' thoughts now wandered to a specific member of the family; her sister. She wondered why she was the one given to them. But still, Artemis loved her sister. It is just that Alliyah usually tends to irritate Artemis more about topics she does not understand or that are to young for her age. "Yeah. Ally, her nickname. Honestly, I think we are going to be compared again by mother by the time she enters Hogwarts."

Minoas noticed Arty's expresionless features while talking about her mom. He had even spotted a sort of a complaining tone in her voice as well when she talked about her sister. The young gryffindor loved his family, it was something that was emanating from deep inside him naturally. Thus, he was finding particularly odd the fact that Artemis looked quite indifferent about her family. He had already made plans with his on how they were going to spend their long-awaiting holidays. But maybe not all the families were the same and maybe he was the lucky one.

"I'm sure that your mother loves you equally. That is not questionable at all. Perhaps she compares you with your sister to become even better. My mom does that too." he tried to excuse Mrs Jackson. He couldn't believe that a mother loved more one of her children. Sounded unrealistic to him. "I think you can learn from her as much as she can learn from you." he said for her sister as the two of them didn't have many years between them.
He raised his sleeves as he started feeling extremely hot and he couldn't ignore the illuminating hands of his watch. "Hera's jealousy! It's really late!" he exclaimed as he hadn't realised how quickly the time passed. It was already 2 o'clock after midnight. "We really should be going. If we get caught we are in serious trouble. Umm, do you want to escort you to the dungeons?" he offered kindly as he stood up, casting another lumos charm as the previous one was getting less powerful.

Artemis did not actually believe the Gryffindor with his words. Come on, she has been living with her mother ever since she was inside her womb. Artemis knows it. Her parents had favoritism; her mother likes Alliyah while her father likes Artemis. It was fair and Artemis was quite contented with it. She'd rather have her father than her mother. It was always the best option at all times. Artemis simply shrugged his comment off not totally believing him at all. Instead of increasing her scowl, she just nodded her head a bit with a small upward curve on her lips. She just wanted to end the discussion since she was uncomfortable with it. Artemis never wanted to get into deeper details about her clan. That area was just too sensitive for her and no one would want to dare to talk about it with her. Maybe with Alliyah, it would be fine but with her, it will be totally different. "No thanks. I can make it on my own." Artemis said getting up and dusting of her robes. Artemis got her wand and gripped her wand tightly in her fist. "Bye." She muttered before plunging into the darkness heading towards the Dungeons.

"See ya around. Goodnight." he muttered as Artemis was making her way out of the corridor into the grand staircase.
Minoas couldn't just ignore the feeling that his friend was up to something, see was bothered with something way to much. He had no idea whether it had to do with her family or not but it was obvious that for her was a great deal. He casted some light on the walls around him. He completely forgotten the whispers he had heard hours ago. Whatever might have caused them wasn't there anymore. At least, he couldn't see it, hear it or feel it. Convinced that it was probably his own imagination, hallucinations of his anxiety because of the exams, he made his way to seventh floor, into the gryffindor's common for a good night sleep. He had a lot of revision to do for the next morning.
