Lyra Potter knew that it was incredibly early and highly unlikely that anyone else would be awake at such an hour. That was precisely why she decided to quietly dress in the dark and head out of the Gryffindor house. Normally, she would head up to the North Tower to watch the sun come up, but that was a little too close to Ravenclaw for today. She didn't want to see Silus. She really didn't want to see anyone. She needed time alone to think and evaluate how she felt. Lyra still wanted to watch the sun rise, but it was too chilly out for her at this time of day. Instead, the Gryffindor girl went to the only other place she could think of. The library. It had beautiful windows in the back and it was quiet. Hopefully, she could be alone with her thoughts. There was only one person she would actually enjoy seeing right now, but she seriously doubted he would be awake at this hour of the day after the Valentine's dance last night. She had glimpsed him from across the room, but they hadn't actually gotten to talk. That seemed to be the case too often these days. She missed Felix Urie.
<i></i>

"I know it's super early. I'm not even tired." Felix told Amy as they headed back to the dorm. They'd spent most of the night out in the courtyard and then trying to hide from the prefects and professors. They had luckily succeeded. "Yeah, okay, I just saw a friend of mine, so you head back and I'll catch you up, cover for me?" Felix kissed Amy on the nose as she headed for the dorms and he headed in the direction he saw who he thought to be Lyra head. To the library was apparently her destination and as she sat preoccupied, Felix snuck up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Sickle for your thoughts?" He whispered in her ear, grinning as he moved to stand in front of her.

Lyra jumped as someone grabbed her by the shoulders. She normally wasn't so easy to startle, but the previous night had her on edge. Thankfully, it was Felix. The only person other than Link that she thought she could handle being around right now. "Thank god it is only you. I don't think you want to hear my thoughts right now." Lyra said with a groan. "But sit down and I will tell you all about my horrible night."she said with chagrin. Lyra got a good look at Felix as he stepped into her line of sight. She noticed it looked like he was still wearing his dress clothes from the party last night. Her green eyes narrowed. "Did you stay out all night?" she asked suspiciously.
<i></i>

Felix frowned when Lyra jumped, she wasn't normally so rattled and he was concerned that she was upset by something. He moved to sit with her and held her hand. "Yes, I was with Amy, but we'll talk about that later, tell me what happened." If Lanithro had done something Felix would be livid. He had trusted Lyra to be with that loon, he wouldn't stand for him trying anything with Felix's best friend. It simply wasn't on.

"Wait...Amy? What about Georgina?" Lyra said, caught off guard by the change in names. She noticed the look in his eyes and sighed. "Fine but you have to explain that later." the Gryffindor girl said sternly to Felix. "You remember how I went to the Valentine's dance last year with Silus and I thought there was something there but then he completely ignored me and avoided me? Yeah..that ended last night. He told me he loves me and kissed me in front of Lanithro. Like completely out of the blue. I think he must have been the one to send the anonymous rose last week too and just decided to act on it." she told Felix, wishing he would be able to fix her problem. He was better at this dating stuff than she was. Lanithro was her first boyfriend and Felix had already had sever girlfriends. Surely he could offer some words of wisdom.
<i></i>

Felix waved his hand at Lyra telling her that what he had to say was not currently important. He listened as she spoke, his hand tightening slightly on hers the more she spoke. He was annoyed, angry even that Silus had just decided to push his way in. The mention of his rose though stopped him slightly. So she thought it was from Silus? He was... more upset by that than he thought. He didn't exactly want Lyra to know he'd sent it, but from Silus? No. "Um... so you think he sent you a rose? I don't think so, it's not his thing, right?" Granted, they weren't Felix's thing either. He hated Valentines. "But okay, wait, so... he just kissed you? In front of Lanithro?" He squeezed her hand just a little tighter. He was mad enough about Lanithro, now he had to be worried about Silus again too? He'd not heard hide nor hair from the ******* for months, only for him to come slithering out of whatever hole he'd been hiding in now. "F*cksake, Silus."

Holding Felix's hand was comforting and enjoyable. She moved closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder. It was something she has done many times before in the span of their friendship. Lyra shrugged her shoulders at his question about the rose. "He gave me roses for Valentine's Day last year. It's the only thing that makes sense. It said 'I wish you knew. ' I don't know who else would have sent it. Lanithro signed his." Lyra said logically. She nodded her head at her best friend's second question. "Yes. Lanithro saw the whole thing. Apparently, Lanithro and Rome ruined Silus's Halloween costume our first year so I don't know if Silus is really in love with me or just trying to piss off my boyfriend and get back at him." she told Felix, knowing he never understood what Lyra saw in Silus, or Lanithro for that matter.
<i></i>

Felix thought about what Lyra was saying. Regardless, the matter of the rose was going to have to wait. He wanted to get to the bottom of the Lanithro/Silus issue. He wrapped his arm around Lyra as she rested her head on his shoulder. He missed this. "I see your point." His tone told Lyra he was angry, but he wasn't angry at Lyra, far from it. His anger stemmed only from Silus and his incredible jealousy of Lanithro. Not that he could really talk though. "What did Lanithro do to Silus that could make him want to hurt you in this way?" Taking it out on Lyra was definitely not the best course of action and in fact if this was the truth, Silus had better watch his back, because Felix would be coming for him.

Lyra smiled as Felix put his arm around her and held her. It was familiar and comforting. She cuddled up to him, not seeing it as anything more than friendship, not that anyone was around to see and judge anyway. She hadn't seen much of Felix last semester, and she missed him being around. She needed him. It was as simple as that. The brunette could tell Felix was angry, and she wasn't surprised. He was protective over her, just like she was protective over him. "I'm not entirely sure but Lanithro likes to cause trouble with Rome. I'm sure it wasn't nice. The only other explanation is that he was serious. He really is in love with me." she said, disbelief coloring her voice. "What do you think? Do you think Silus is in love with me? Lanithro says he is. He said it before Silus told me himself." Lyra trusted Felix's opinion more than her own.
<i></i>

Being put in this situation was not doing much for Felix's emotions at all. He wanted to find Silus and put him through the pain Lyra was currently feeling, but perhaps a more physical manifestation of it. A swift kick to the face aught to do it. "I've seen them stalking around people, but they've never bothered me personally. I suppose it could be true." He didn't want to it to be. They had a rivalry, almost a competitive business about them that made them each others worst selves. "Then, maybe he really is just trying to piss you off. But you said Lanithro called it?" Felix sighed and rested his head on Lyra's. "Maybe he's picking up on something you're not?

Lyra nodded her head at Felix's words about Lanithro and Rome. The brunette didn't mind it and knew it was just a part of Lanithro. "I don't know. Lanithro is really good at reading people, so he could have noticed something I didn't. Do you think Silus meant it? Do you think he loves me?" she asked, looking to Felix for guidance. He knew Silus even if he didn't like the boy. They had been competitive over Lyra's friendship since first year. Lyra smiled as Felix placed his head on hers. She had really been missing this. She had been missing her best friend. "I've missed you, Fee." she said, affectionately.
<i></i>

Felix was enjoying being with Lyra again. He missed the them from before, when they spent all their time together. He really liked spending time with Amy, but she wasn't Lyra. He didn't know what to say about Silus though, and even Lyra saying his name made him mad. "I honestly don't know Lyra. Maybe. I mean it's not totally impossible for someone to love you. I love you." He squeezed her tightly. "But I think, on this occassion, he was probably telling you the truth. I don't want to think he could try and upset you like that. He's an ass, but I don't think he's cruel." He told her. "And I missed you, Boots. We need to do this more often."

Lyra rolled her eyes as Felix told her he loved her. "I know you love me, and I love you. But, you don't love me like that. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean he loved me as a friend." she said, knowing good and well that Felix didn't have any romantic feelings towards her. She listened to the rest of what he had to say, a little surprised that he thought Silus wouldn't try to upset her or be cruel to her. "So what should I do about it if he does love me? I have a boyfriend, you know." Lyra pointed out. She really didn't know what to do. Should she just avoid Silus? Did she owe it to him to give some sort of response? Lyra smiled as he used the nickname he made up for her years ago. She hadn't heard that one in a while. "I know. We need to schedule at least a weekly date. Seeing you in classes just isn't enough." she said with a sigh. She was happier in this moment than she had been in a few weeks. In the quiet space with just Felix, Lyra felt like she could finally breathe again.
<i></i>

Lyra's words hurt him a bit, but he didn't show it. He didn't know why, but she made him feel weird these days. He smiled at her. "You're probably right and as much as I hate to say it, maybe you just have to talk to him." Felix was only telling her this because he knew that Lyra liked Silus, maybe not the way Silus wanted her to, thank god, but he knew he'd hate to lose Lyra from his life, he didn't wish that on even someone he hated. "You know how I feel about Silus, but I know I'd hate to lose you, I can imagine what he's probably going through." Lyra and Felix never really fought, apart from that one time with Maddie, but that had resolved itself pretty much the moment he'd broken up with her. "I don't think it could hurt to hear him out." Regardless, Felix knew that Lyra couldn't stay away from Silus forever, they both had a habit of tracking her down.

Lyra smiled at Felix's words. She knew he was her best friend for a good reason. He always knew exactly what she needed to hear. She trusted his opinion and advice more than anyone else in the school with the only exception being her twin, but she couldn't talk to Link about boy trouble. He was too protective of her for that. "Thank you. I'll talk to him." she said with a smile. Lyra lifted her head up and kissed Felix gently on the cheek, much like she would Link. "I think you're stuck with me. I'm not going anywhere." she said firmly. She knew deep down in her heart that Felix would always be her best friend, no matter what else happened in their lives. "Now, what is this about staying out all night with Amy?" she asked, curiosity containing itself no more.
