Dante Styx finally had some free time, and it was a week after the full moon, so he managed to find a Hufflepuff in their year to ask for Callie Cardoso to come to the student lounge. There were not many people in here, so he thought that this might be a good time to talk out why he had sent the pink rose to her. She had sent him a yellow rose, so he was not sure how to even tell her that he had this crush on her. How much he trusted her because she was the first one that he shared his secret to, that was outside of the family. He settled in on the couch, with his legs crossed on the cushion. He had his hands in his lap as he looked up at the ceiling, as if it were the best thing that he had ever seen. It was compared to his homework, if he was being honest. But now, all he had to do was wait on his friend to come forward, assuming the other Hufflepuff would find her.

Callie had been a bit surprised by the pink rose, and the lovely note which had come along with it. She hadn't really expected it and hadn't realised Dante had felt that way about her. She liked him, had liked him since they first got talking but had never figured he would ever like her. Who could possibly like her like that. She had gladly accepted his invite, and was going to now meet him. She had made some cookies which she hoped would be enough of an apology for the lack of a note to him. She walked in and immediately spotted him. "Hey!" she greeted warmly and she approached him eagerly.

Dante opened his eyes and beamed when he saw Callie approach him, and looked just as nice as she ever did. He was worried that she would not ever want to speak to him again after sending a pink rose. It was a risk, but he liked her, and he wanted her to know that. He trusted her too, and well, he hoped that his mom and dad wouldn't interfere. "I'm glad you came!" Dante exclaimed. "I thought that you might not have wanted to be friends still after that pink rose. I thought it was a good risk though." Dante liked her yellow rose. He was just thankful that she thought of him enough to even give him one. If she hadn't, then he would have likely not have invited her to come here. He would have been too embarrassed.

Callie smiled at him as he smiled at her. She nodded, "Of course," she replied before blushing lightly. She had wondered if it would come up, but of course it would. Her cheeks were blushing and her smile was a little nervous. "Of course I still want to be friends," she was quick to assure him, before pausing. "I...I didn't realise you liked me...liked me," the teen said with a little nervous expression, playing with the end of her t-shirt. "It was nice, did you mean it?"

Was that a blush? Why was she blushing? Dante did not know why but he also did not understand girls very well either. His sister, may she rest in peace, did not give him much advice since she was young. She did not know the whims and stresses of teenage life as it starts. Dante felt relieved, very much so, when she said that she wanted to remain friends, and how she didn't know that he liked her. Oh, right, he was never great at displaying how he felt unless it was anger. "I don't know how to express things. Except my temper. But yes, I really meant it. I think you are very cute. Probably the cutest in our year."

Callie gave a sympathetic expression, knowing that he did struggle with some things and thought it was sweet. She blushed deeper at what he said, sure that there were other girls in their year who were cuter than her, she could not be the cutest, but instead of denying it. She didn't say anything, she held his gaze and then in a moment of courage leaned forward and went to very gently kiss him. Aiming for his lips. She didn't believe he could like someone like her but she was also more than willing to quiet her self doubt in favour of trying to follow what she knew she did want.

That blush did not go unnoticed by Dante at all. But was it a good one? Maybe he should ask Cassius after this, if there was a chance anyway. Was there? What if there wasn't? What if his crush was unrequited? His mind raced but it came to a screeching halt when Callie leaned forward, and definitely hit her mark, right on his lips. It was like a little buffering signal occurred over his head as he realized what was going on. She was kissing him? She kissed him first? Wait, now how was that fair? Then he had to convince himself to actually, well, kiss her back. Luckily, his mind was as hyper as he was, as he kissed the Hufflepuff in return, and reached out to place his hand on hers. He just had no idea where it was, but he guessed. The only thing he did not do was touch somewhere inappropriate.

Callie hadn't been sure what the reaction would be to her kissing him. If it would be welcome or unwelcome. If it kept in with what she assumed he wanted, what she wanted. It was immediately reassuring when her lips met his, rather than a cheek, and it was nice, soft and different. She had never kissed anyone lke this, not since she'd likely been a young child. She was kissing him, and then he was kissing her too and then his hand was on hers. Callie moved to take it, to hold it as she remained in the kiss for just a beat longer. She pulled out and the blush to her cheeks was worse, but she was also smiling, and holding his gaze.

Dante definitely felt her hand, and how she held it. The Slytherin was enjoying himself, and he honestly did not want it to end, even when she pulled away from the kiss. Her smile made his stomach feel funny, like swarms of angry bees. It was not a bad feeling though, and now he could really see her blush. It naturally matched his own which was on his pale cheeks, spreading all the way up to his ears. He finally managed to utter a word, "Wow." Dante was still on cloud nine, as one could tell. He did not have the least bit of attitude that a Styx should ever have. "So," Dante cleared his throat, "now what's the next step?"

Callie gave a little smile, unable to stop herself from doing so. He was sweet. She liked him. He liked her. Of all the people in the school. He liked her. She reached up a little as he finally spoke, the hand not holding his going to his cheek, looking to just touch him gently. What was next..."Do we go on a date?" she asked, unsure of if the kiss meant they were already together or if they needed to have at least one date before they were officially together. She was going to need to tell her parents about this, about him. Going on a date might allow it to become official, for them to become official, though she didn't really want to kiss anyone else. "Or do you just want to jump into being boyfriend, girlfriend?"

Callie was so gentle that he just really liked how she made him feel. Dante knew that there was no tarnishing who or what he was if he were to be with her - more like he did not care. After all, Dante was a werewolf. That was basically the worst thing in the eyes of the Patriarch. He was going to just have fun with his life, and not worry about his family's standards. Her questions made him think. Just jump right into a relationship or date first? He thought the latter made more sense. That was how it was done, right? "We can go out on a date, but you have to promise not to become another boy's girlfriend, okay?" Dante did not want to say no to jumping right into a relationship, but he felt that she wouldn't do that to him. He was a good sense of character after all.

Callie couldn't imagine at this point wanting to jump into a relationship with anyone else. But was glad that he wanted to take things slowly. She was still trying to figure out what on earth he saw in her, but she knew it didn't matter. Because this was happening. "Okay, I promise. Will you promise too?" she asked, she was sincere in promising. Because she couldn't imagine not being. She moved her hand from his face and held it out to him with the pinkie finger out to pinkie promise it.

Dante beamed when she said that she promised, and then asked if he would promise too. She even held out a pinkie finger. His pinkie wrapped around hers as he said, "I promise too. And a Styx doesn't break his promise." Dante was not sure if every Styx was like that, but it meant it for him. He also leaned forward to give her a quick peck on the cheek - as if to seal the promise. "I cannot wait to take you to the mall for some ice cream and shopping!" Dante's excitement showed through. The third year was just excited to have his first girlfriend. Going slowly or not, Callie was his girlfriend. No one could convince him otherwise.

Callie wasn't sure what a family meant in terms of keeping promises, but she knew that he was agreeing to it, and indulging in the pinky promise. She blushed as he kissed her cheek and then gave an excited little smile at his words. She couldn't help but be pretty excited at the prospect of it. Of being a girlfriend, of being his girlfriend.
