Andros stumbled into St. Mungo's, his hair sticking to his forehead, his eyes wide, and his body, tense. He had sprinted through the doors of St. Mungo's and to the reception desk. "Andros Carter," he had panted, pushing his damp hair from his face, "I'm here to see Kira Carter." The panic in his tone was obvious to all present, and the woman on reception directed him to a nearby healer, one who had been there when Kira was brought in. Andros went eagerly with her. Nobody had told him how bad a condition she was in. Was she conscious? Was she still alive? Adrenaline surged through his shaking body. Healers zipped past, this way and that. His ears picked out the most hostile sounds, the ones that suggested his wife was not alright. Aurors were supposed to be able to just shrug these things off. Andros had met an older female co-worker who had lost her husband, and still managed to hold her head high.

He was led to a ward. Many of the beds had curtains pulled round as the healers treated their patients. Andros was asked to stand outside of one curtain while the healers confirmed that Kira was safe to be seen, and that Andros was who he said he was. Seconds later, another healer emerged, nodded to Andros, and allowed him inside the curtained area to see his wife. Andros dived to her side, taking hold of her hand and softly kissing her cheek. "Thank Merlin," he breathed, relieved that his wife was still alive. He turned to one of the healers, "is she going to be alright?" The healer said nothing, he quickly turned back to Kira. "Are you going to be alright?"

Kira had been enjoying her small time off from work. She had been feeling a bit unwell for the past few days and requested a few days off for some rest and recovery, figuring it was just her overworking herself as per usual. Kira loved her job more than anything but getting these few days off was allowing her to focus a bit more on her other job; being a mother to the most cutest little girl ever. Angeline wasn’t all that old yet but she was getting bigger everyday and Kira was starting to feel a bit upset that she seemed to be missing it, it made her feel like such a bad mother and no matter how much she was being reassured that she wasn’t a horrible mother it was still a horrible feeling she had in the pit of her stomach when she thought about it. Today was her last day off work before heading back in and decided to take it off for herself, perhaps a bit of shopping and a nice lunch, just herself. So after leaving Angeline off with her parents Kira apparated back to Obsidian for a bit of retail therapy; something she hadn’t done for herself in quite some time. The day was pretty normal and Kira was starting to feel like herself again with the occasional queasy feeling she’d get in the pit of her stomach or a light head here or there. It was at the second dizzy spell of the day that she figured she was simply hungry so leaving the shopping area she made her way towards her favourite little cafe. It was then that she was unexpectedly stuck down with a stunning spell. It was rather weak and would normally only have knocked Kira over, being able to recover quickly but due to her weak state it had her knocked for what felt like quite some time. She woke up to see two blondes fighting and despite being off work her duty to help protect the citizens overcame her and she jumped right in to break it up. She had gotten caught in the crossfire and got hit a few more times but one of the woman’s shots had been quite weak. Recognising the woman who had hit her first and according to the bystanders had started the fight, Kira had arrested her and had her sent off to Azkaban right away. Kira made sure the other woman was alright before taking her into the office for some questioning. While there she was told to go to St Mungo’s herself as the bumps and scrapes were becoming clearer. Kira knew it was a risk in her job that she would get harmed every once and while and was originally against going to the hospital but figured to keep her colleagues quiet she would go.

She expected to be in and out of the hospital in a few minutes, once one of the healers gave her a quick look over and a potion for the pain but upon checking her records they saw that she had taken a physical of sorts that Aurors had to take every so often. Leaving her sitting on the hospital bed they went to retrieve the report and left Kira sitting there. She was beginning to get a bit bored and was relieved when she saw the healer come back. After pulling back the curtains she heard some commotion outside and the unmistakable sound of her husband’s voice. Frowning her eyebrows she looked at him with surprise and confusion as he came rushing into her side. Laughing slightly at his over dramasing on her being in the hospital she shook her head. “Andros there’s nothing wrong. I just got a few bumps and scraps after breaking up a fight in Obsidian today. Really no need to worry, it’s only part of the job, you know that.” she said shaking her head before kissing her husband’s cheek. “Anyway, can I go home now?” she asked, turning to the healer who was ready Kira’s chart from her report.
