Theodore sighed as he stepped into the Kitchens, today he was Wednesday and the day he and Kaleb were supposed to serve detention with each other because they decided to bully his older brother for various reasons. His eye glanced around the kitchen carefully and an aggravated sigh left his mouth, this was going to take forever to clean and know Professor Styx he was going to make it even harder than it was already going to be on them. "This...is going to really suck." He sighed and leaned against the wall as he waited for Kaleb and or Professor Styx to show up so he could get started and finish this quickly. Theodore wanted to take a nap or maybe get in some Quidditch before the day was over, so he did not plan on wasting it all on some stupid Detention that he barely deserved.

Kalif was more than annoyed that he would be here overseeing that his son and Theodore got to work. But he also had another thing coming too. Something that would be both humiliating and highly annoying at the same time. Kalif had ordered the house elves out so that they would be alone. This needed to be a warning for all of the other Slytherins to shape up, or suffer a similar fate. Not only should those six’s hand’s be tired from writing that long essay, but now they had to clean the dirtiest rooms in Hogwarts. He entered the kitchens with Kaleb, and Kalif narrowed his eyes at Theodore. With silent steps, he made his way over to Theodore, and he ordered, “Give me your hand, Theodore. There is a little twist to this detention.” With his other gloved hand, he had Kaleb’s wrist as well. The boys were definitely not going to like this at all.

Kaleb was regretting getting into serious trouble. Why had he not just gotten points deducted? Then he would not be wasting a day in the kitchens with Theodore and his dad. Sometimes it sucked for your dad to be Head of your house. Kaleb had hoped Kalif would go easy on him, but the dreams were shattered. He made his way with his tall father, and probably a pissed off one at that. Kaleb felt Kalif grab his wrist and lead him toward Theodore. He forced a tiny smile at Theodore, and he groaned silently at the thought of a twist. “Professor Styx, what is the twist? Surely this is punishable enough!” Kaleb somehow knew that even if he begged, Kalif would not change his mind.

Theodore removed himself from the wall and stood lazily as he watched Professor Styx and Kaleb walk into the kitchens, neither of them looked really all that pleased and he could only wonder if they were feeling more annoyed then he currently was by the whole thing. Carefully watching Professor Styx he was tempted to take a few steps back but didn't because he figured it would get him into my trouble. "What?! Why?!" His emerald green eyes widened in horror when the older man asked for his hand, he also had Kaleb's hand for some reason and thats when he heard there was going to be a twist. Hesitantly he lifted his hand and allowed Professor Styx to take it, but whatever was going to happen to the two of them worried him a lot. "Yeah dude, this is school....not jail." He muttered before he looked at Kaleb as if to say 'your dad is a creep' to him. It was one thing having him as their Head of House, he could only wonder what sort of things happened to him at home.

Without a word to either of them, Kalif stuck their hands together, making them hold each other's hand, before he whispered a binding spell so that neither would be able to let go, until he released them from their detention. "That is the twist. You will have to rely on the other to get the job done. Now, go and clean the kitchen." Kalif released the boys, and he took a few steps back. Kalif flourished his wand, waved it to conjure a chair, before he would oversee this and see how well they will have to work together, or not, but either way they were going to get it done, and they were using small pump brushes to get everything nice and clean.

Kaleb raised his eyebrows when his father explained exactly what is going on. Kaleb could not move his fingers and he could not let go of Theodore's hand. Never Kaleb wanted to hold Theodore's hand. You have got to be kidding me! I can't be seen holding hands with a guy! His expression was shock and mortified. "Theodore, can you let go of my hand? Please?" Kaleb gave his father a frantic look, but it wasn't going to help. Kaleb groaned. They didn't even do anything wrong! He threw one punch, big deal.

Theodore stared at Professor Styx oddly when his and Kaleb's hands were suddenly stuck together and he told them they would have to rely on each other to get the job done. And without further warning their hands were actually stuck completely together, even after Kaleb asked Theodore to release it and he tried to let it go they were still attached. "Dude, I can't!" Theodore jerked his hand but only ended up pulling Kaleb's hand and arm with his, he had never heard of a spell or a detention like this before and he was starting to figure out why. His eyes turned to look at Professor Styx as he glared at him for making them do this, Theodore was reacting better than Kaleb was but he still wasn't happy that he had to do this attached to one of his best friends. "I fail to see how were supposed to clean with those little brushes while being attached to one another." He stared at his hand for a moment before he snorted, and the kitchens were huge so this was probably going to take a long than he really wanted it to. The only thing Theodore could think about as he stared at the brush was that Aleyha better have not known about this and not tried to warn him.

"Oh my god, I can't be seen holding hands with a boy! This is a new level of cruelty, even for dad," Kaleb spoke to Theodore in a hushed tone. Well, they didn't hate each other, and were friends, so Kaleb would have to just get over it. Kaleb shrugged, and he intoned, "Want to start with the dishes? They seem to be the worst part of any job really." Kaleb shrugged with one of his shoulders, the one not facing Theodore. "Well, look on the bright side, you aren't holding hands with your brother." Kaleb tried to find the light in this detention. Obviously, they are far from the end of the tunnel. This would take a long while, and Kaleb knew it. There goes a whole day wasted. But then again, he was in on it as well.

Theodore snorted when his friend told him that he couldn't be seen holding hands with a boy and that this was a new level of cruelty for Professor Styx. "Somehow, I doubt that. Come on Princess lets get to work." He teased Kaleb before he flicked some of his blonde hair out of his face and looked around the enormous kitchen, even when they weren't attached it looked big but now the room seemed to have multiplied in size. The little thread of fondness that had been building for Professor Styx just died a painful death at this point, this was going to take forever. "I have no idea how you expect us to do the dishes while attached, but sure." He pulled the smaller Slytherin over to where the dished were with him, it was still so weird holding hands with him and he was pretty sure that if Aleyha knew about it she was never going to let him live this down. "If it was my brother, people would have to clean blood off the walls afterwards." She stated boredly and stifled a yawn that was eager to come out, he hadn't even started to work yet and he was already exhausted beyond all belief. After this he was pretty sure he had a Brotherhood meeting as well, he'd never get in that much needed nap.

Kaleb rolled his eyes in jest at the teasing of the older Slytherin. Even if I did swing that way, blonde male's aren't my type. Kaleb smirked a bit at his own thought. Kaleb started to walk toward the dishes, and he groaned at the pile of them. There weren't many but still. "Maybe if you hold and I scrub for a bit, and then rinse, and switch jobs every so often? I don't know. But we have to get this done." Kaleb wanted a day off from trouble. This was just not what Kaleb wanted. "Yeah, I don't really blame you. My brother...he went and became an Auror. Jaken, you know him, right? That is the one." Kaleb used to admire him, but he did not now. Aurors were the enemy. That was how he was raised. Why did Jaken become the enemy?

Even if Theodore was feeling extremely lazy, he knew this job needed to be done some way or another and reluctantly agreed to Kaleb's idea. "Fine." Theodore said boredly before he reached up and held up one of the dishes for Kaleb, making sure to have a tight grip on it so it didn't slip from his hands and fall onto the floor. As he held the plate out he listened to Kaleb speak and became shocked when he said that his brother had become an Auror recently, and to think that Theodore used to have high respects for the guy. "Yeah I remember him. My dad said that Family like ours kill off the Aurors...what are they going to do to your brother?" Theodore asked hesitantly, his eyes shifting over to Professor Styx for a moment before he looked back at Kaleb with a hint of sorry clearly visible in his eyes, he understood completely. "My twin sister wants to become an Auror. I'm afraid my dad might kill her if she does..." This was the first person he admitted this to, he hadn't even told Aleyha yet because he was afraid she would think of him weak if he cared for his sister like that. Theodore felt like him and Kaleb had a strong connection from this, it was hard to think about it.

Kaleb started to wash the dishes and with talk, he figured that cleaning would go by in no time. Kaleb snorted, "Psh, like they have told me anything. I'm just a kid. I don't hold a high enough importance in the family to know. But whatever it is, they and even dad agreed on it. Whatever it is, Jaken won't be an Auror anymore. I just don't want him dead." Kaleb sighed and he shook his head. What was with the whole dark and evil families going good, and the good families becoming better? There had to be darkness in the world! That was why he was still around now! "Oh man, that must really suck. But like, isn't she protected by all these other goody Aurors? Aleyha told me some things." Kaleb shrugged lightly. Theodore was one of the closest male friends he had in this school. Shows how much Kaleb knows people.

As they cleaned the dishes, Theodore noted that it wasn't as hard as he thought it would be while having another person attached to him. Still he did not like the whole concept and would just rather get this done while he still could enjoy being able to take a nap before he got to his homework and some studying for the OWL's. "So even if you asked, they wouldn't tell you anything? I don't think they'll him him, but whatever it is..it probably won't be all that pleasant for him. The Aurors destroy the evil that our families thrive off of." Theodore held up another dish for Kaleb as he tried to answer what he honestly thought, something deep inside him told Theodore that Jaken was in a world of trouble and he would be lucky to come out alive, but he wasn't going to tell Kaleb that, he was younger and didn't deserve that. When Kaleb questioned about his sister and the Aurors, Teddy turned his head to look at the younger male with slight confusion. "It does but, I don't know why any Aurors would be protecting her right now, She's only dating one of their sons..it's not like she's going to marry the guy...she better not marry that guy. Besides, if my dad really wanted her dead he would find a way." Theodore bit out that last part as if there was something gross in his mouth and he wanted it out as quickly as possible, he didn't want his sister to die and he especially did want her become so close with that Auror's son, he was bringing her into the light far too much.

"You have not seen how much my family hates Aurors. Arnost's lover was killed by them. Just imagine how much he wants to tear my brother's head clean off his shoulders. I have asked, many times, but no, they won't reveal. It is far too important to pass the information on. But when it happens, it happens I guess." Kaleb shrugged lightly. He had already lost his mother to Asparuh, and now he was on the verge of possibly losing his brother. But this was the Zhefarovich family too. Kaleb nodded at Theodore's words as he got along with the dishes. "So, I doubt she would. I mean, girls don't really date guys that long or are really serious about them at your all's age. I just hope Carmen doesn't turn out like that. But is it not weird how our siblings meddled with the wrong side? Maybe one influenced the other or something." Kaleb snorted at that thought. Jaken luring Alyssa to the light. That was a sight to see.

Theodore was almost relieved that there was another family besides his that hated Aurors so much, but it also made him more worried about Alyssa becoming an Auror. "Her name was Thorine wasn't it, at least thats what Nicolette told me. She um..tried to convince me to get more involved in the dark arts..if you know what I mean." His eyes shifted around again, Nicolette had merely mentioned it to him but left the decision of listening to her or not up to him in the end. He honestly wasn't sure what he wanted to do yet, he was co confused and lost about his future that sometimes it gave him a headache just thinking about it. "If they do decide to kill your brother...they don't make you watch or anything do they?" Theodore asked hesitantly as he set one of the dishes down for a moment, he knew that for both the Snows and Xavier's mothers family, they had the whole family usually witness an execution for some reason. Maybe it was like a reminder of what could happen if they followed what those people tried to do. "At the same time, this guy seems really seriously about her and she seems serious about him, it makes me so nervous. Ha it is a little weird, but if your brother did influence Alyssa I owe him a smack upside the head." Theodore had never had a problem with Jaken the one time he met him, but if he was an Auror now then Theodore had no choice but to pretend that he never existed in his world.

"Yeah, that is her. I know what you mean. You still have a long way to go before choosing your path. The majority of the time, my path has already been made." Kaleb shrugged as he continued to scrub the dishes. Time seemed to be going at a quicker pace now. Kaleb shook his head, "No, not usually. Not unless there are more members crossing over, if you know what I mean." Kaleb doubted that anyone in the family wanted to be an Auror. "Don't worry about it, Theodore. Just let Alyssa ruin her life. You sound like a nosy person, you know that. But if Jaken did, by all means, smack him upside the head." Kaleb acted rather calm about this whole ordeal. It was a little strange, like he was okay with people dying because they went to the good side in the family.

Theodore was thankful that Kaleb understood how hard it would be to choose his path so easily, if only there was someone he could go down both and made everyone happy. Surprisingly Kaleb told him that a lot of his path had already been made for him, that caused Teddy to snort to himself slightly. "At least you have free choice of who you want to marry and your not doomed to be called Pretty boy all your life." He stated calmly, those two paths have been carved and sealed for him already, but he honestly didn't mind it all that much anymore, he knew Levi was in the same situation but whether he accepted it or not was unknown to the older boy. Nodding Theodore mumbled that her understood what Kaleb was telling him, life with these families was not in the least bit easy anymore. "I guess I have no choice but to let her, I know I sound nosy but she's my sister and just like you don't want to see Jaken killed, it's the same story. On top of it, what if she had to hunt be down?" Brother against sister, that didn't sound like the sort of ending he wanted for him and Alyssa. They had been close all their lives and just now they were starting to fall apart and become separated, they didn't even live in the manor any longer, he lived at the Zhefarovich manor with Aleyha and she was now living with her friend somewhere...they only saw eachother at school.

"Don't give me that, you like being called that. And Teddy too," Kaleb gave Theodore a smirk and he saw that the dishes were done. Kaleb tugged Theodore in the direction to wash down the counters, which did not take long at all. Soon, would come the floors. Kaleb dread that part the most. "I guess. But I never meddled with Pat's love life, or with Alessine's before she died. Or with Jaken's. But whatever dude."

Theodore glared at Kaleb for a moment when the young boy accused him being fond of the name Pretty boy, which was a name he could not stand being called. He only allowed one person to call him that without him getting upset and that was because he liked her and she would probably call him that regardless of what he thought of the name. "Shut up, I do not like that name. I don't even like the name Teddy but everyone calls me it anyways." He lightly smacked Kaleb upside the head before he also began on the counters, the floors were next and he was pretty sure Kaleb was dreading doing those as much as he was, it would probably take the longest. "Have they ever meddled in yours? I just don't want him for a brother-in-law dude." He rolled his eyes, a lot of people scolded him for interfering with his sisters love life or life in general but he wasn't willing to watch her life fall apart right in front of him without even trying to stop her from doing all of this.

Let's try to wrap this up with your post, shall we? :)

"I call you Theodore. By no means do I find you pretty," snorted Kaleb as he continued to dread the floors, which he unfortunately got started on. It would take forever. He just knew it. But soon, this would all be over. And the kitchens were looking fabulous! "Nope. I got my love life taken care of. You know who she is." Kaleb chuckled, and though he could understand where Theodore was coming from. "I understand. But you don't control who she falls in love with, unfortunately. Just lay it low on the meddling." Kaleb was not an advice giver, obviously. In fact, he just did what he did because he felt like it.

"And thats why I consider you as a friend, and not someone I should ignore." Theodore said softly as he started to help Kaleb get started on the floor. Kaleb, Leviathan, and Andrew Bruke were the only males so far that had been able to get close to Theodore and have him actually feel comfortable around them. With all the other guys it just didn't feel right because they would never understand the life he had been leading so far. As Theodore cleaned he thought hard about what Kaleb told him, he couldn't control who his sister loved and everything, but his family could sure as hell try to force her to get over that boy. Perhaps his younger friend was right, maybe he should just leave it be unless it directly started to involve him, it'd probably help Alyssa chill out quite a bit.

As probably another hour of cleaning and talking the two boys had finished the floor and overall finished the kitchen, which hopefully meant they were done and Professor Styx would let them go. "Professor Styx, I think were finished. So um..can you please let us go." He spoke respectfully to the man as he stared down at his and Kaleb's hand that were still attached to one another. It wasn't so bad but it was still a little weird that he made them hold hands with each other.

Kalif stood up from his chair, and with a wave of his hand, it vanished. He was overall proud of the boy's work, and the lack of arguing. He approached the two boys, and he pointed his wand to the hands, and he lifted the spell, but the hands would not be separated. "The spell will wear off after an hour. You are free to go." Kalif himself turned and he exited the kitchens. This time, he had a small smirk on his face, knowing that they would have to be seen in public, holding hands. That would be interesting, amusing and humiliating - for the boys - all at the same time.
