We're now both in Quidditch

With the guitar on her hand, Alexis bounded into the Student Lounge for a much-deserved break from school work. She began to strum chords of a song she had recently written over the holidays. The soft melody wafted through the spacious room while students went about their business. Some even looked her way and smiled as if thanking her for the music to soothe their stressed minds.

Patrick didn't like wandering around the castle alone but he found himself doing so after a meal in the great hall. The boy was making his way back to his common room and was almost there, but the sound of music coming from one of the rooms caught his attention. Curious, Patrick tentatively opened the door to the student lounge and gave the girl a friendly smile once he realised who it was. "I didn't know you played the guitar." he told her, making his way over to one of the armchairs.

Alexis was about to sing a few lines when a familiar and friendly voice spoke out near her. She looked up, hands still weaving music. "Patrick, hey!!", she greeted her friend. She nodded in response to his statement. "It's because you did not ask.", she teasingly answered as he took a seat at one of the armchairs near her.

Patrick was happy to be talking to his friend again. "I guess that's true." he responded, looking around the room. "Do you often come in here? It's quite a nice place." The Hufflepuff smiled, wondering why there wasn't anymore people there as he looked around at the fireplace, the bookshelves and overall the comfortable atmosphere. Perhaps there were other places like it that Patrick didn't know about? However, Patrick preferred to spend time with his friends more than anything and so looking for a place to be alone wasn't usually something he'd do.

Alexis smiled at Patrick. She paused playing her guitar when he asked about her coming to the lounge. She pondered the question for a moment before nodding. "I come here whenever I need a change of scenery from the usual common room and library." She turned to Patrick. "It's sure nice in here and cozy. How about you? Do you come here often?", she asked in return.

Patrick nodded as Alexis explained her reason for going to the student lounge. He figured that playing the guitar in the library would definitely not impress the librarians and so he knew it was probably better to stick to the student lounge. "No, none of my friends usually come here so I just... don't bother." he said. "But you do, so that's why I'm here now." He smiled at her. "How were your holidays? Did you get up to anything interesting?"

The smile on Alexis' face brightened when Patrick mentioned coming to the student lounge because she hung out there."That's great. We can even study here together if the library's packed.",she suggested. Holidays were discussed as her friend asked about her holidays."Holidays were great. All my brothers came home which was the best part.Adalric gave me a new broom which I brought with me." The excitement was still evident in her voice."How about you?How were your holidays?",she asked him back.

Patrick was happy to spend his time in the student lounge with Alexis to study. It definitely didn't seem like many people spent their time there and so he was happy to have found a place where being disturbed wasn't likely. The Hufflepuff listened as his friend spoke about her holidays, nodding at the mention of a new broom. "My family bought me a new broom too but it's not a very good one. My step-mother doesn't think I should be playing quidditch and she doesn't agree with buying expensive brooms that she thinks I'll probably grow out of anyway." he explained with a shrug. He didn't mind much that she was so against it as it gave Patrick something new to do, even if he wasn't the best at it.

Alexis' interest was caught on the word Quidditch.She remembered Patrick played for Hufflepuff and she was planning to try out for this year."You're part of the team,right?Was it beater?", she asked,already had a hint but wanted to make sure. She smiled when an idea came to her. "Maybe,we can fly together some time. I am sure it would be fun.",she smiled at her friend.
