PERSONALITY: Wendall doesn't like to be by himself, but quietly prefers the company of friends where he can feel relaxed. He is generally a friendly boy but occasionally will come across greedy if he thinks that someone else has a better friendship than him. Even though he tries his best in everything he does, a trait he got from his hard working mom, he still isn't particularly bright nor successful in many of his endeavours, however he has come to accept this as his own faults. He is often clumsy, but as this has been the case his entire life he doesn't think anything of a few scraps and bruises here and there.

HISTORY: Wendall grew up with just his mom for company. His mom, Bethany Layton, is the younger sister of Ariana Layton (mom to Olive and Leda Layton). Ariana was given the family business when she married Clement Layton (Ne Cobble****) much to the annoyance of her younger sister. When Olive was twelve years old, and just before the birth of Leda, Ariana lost the business in a financial crisis, leaving the family for the first time without funds (See Olive or Leda's bio for more info). Bethany was furious that she and her husband had ruined something that had been in the family for generations, and as a result decided to open her own store to prove that she would have been a better fit to hold it down. In 2033, Bethany Layton opened up her own jewellery store, which attracted a number of high net worth clients due to the rarity of the pieces she has on offer. When Wendall was particularly young he would join his mom when she worked, however due to his clumsy nature he was quickly told to sit still and not to touch anything, a trait that he still needs to abide by today. As he grew a little older he was gradually able to stay at home by himself during the day, where found an interest for films and games that were unsupervised by Bethany, who seemed more interested in keeping her company afloat rather than her son. After a number of years he grew desensitised to the things he saw, and now just finds horror entertaining, and would love to ghost hunt when he attends Hogwarts.

WEAKNESSES: Since his dad is not in the picture and his mom is often working, he resents that his mom would rather spend time looking after jewellery than him. Therefore, he gets quite greedy, especially of other peoples friendships and relationships, and if he wants something he often doesn't get it, making him greedy for things that he does have. Wendall is also incredibly clumsy. He has perfect vision and yet he doesn't seem to have good coordination, and is likely to have some bruise or injury at any given time.

Wendall had been waiting for this moment for what felt like forever. His cousins had been giving him tips here and there on what to expect, but he could never have prepared himself for what he actually saw. It was more than he expected to even see in a movie! The new first year was stood at the entrance of the Great Hall, arms behind his back and he marvelled up and around the room and the magic that was actually happening right there in front of him.​

They were off! Wendall followed as his classmates were led to the section of the hall that they would actually find out what house they’d be in. He praised himself on not tripping on the way up to the hat, and on route sent one of his new friends a smile in confidence. He wondered if he would be placed with anyone he knew, he hoped so.​

Suddenly his name was called, moving through the crowd, Wendall began to ascend the stairs, but his shoe got caught on the top step and the first year fell forward, part of his body pushing the stool that a few students had already used slightly back in an awkward squeak against the wood that was exaggerated by the size of the room. He clambered back up to his feet, trying to nudge the stool back into place and ignoring the familiar burning of embarrassment that was on his face, and did his best not to look at anyone in particular in case they thought him stupid. He concentrated on the hat, asking nicely for it to make a good choice for him, and where he’d spend his time at Hogwarts.​
