Despite the fact that Kendra Snow had changed her position on the team, as she was now a Keeper instead of a Chaser, Kendra had dressed up today as a Cheerleader, something she definitely was not. She had the right hair and body for it, and she was rather limber, but she was not the type to just sit on the sidelines and cheer her team on. She would rather help them out! She sprayed a little bit of glitter into her blonde hair, and she was sure that she was good to go. She smiled in the mirror, and the young Slytherin left the dungeons and she entered the Great Hall. It was full of many others that were dressed up. So far, she was the only cheerleader. It was a common thing, but Kendra did not dress up often at all. Kendra wondered if she would see any of her siblings here or not, and she was dying to know if someone else had come along. However she did not see her twin so she went over to the table. She was a little chilly because her legs were showing, most of them actually.

She grabbed a cup of punch, and she took a sip of it. She thought about eating candy but she really did not want to rot her teeth out. She took a seat and she brushed her hair to the side as she debated over getting some candy despite the fact that it would damage her teeth. It was only one night a year, so she figured, why the hell not? She took a lollipop from the bowl and she unwrapped it. The fourth year stuck the strawberry flavored sucker into her mouth and she smiled lightly at the sweet flavors that washed over her tongue. Halloween was never really her thing, but she adored Valentine's Day and Christmas, because everything was about giving and love. And Kendra loved to receive both of them, but she was starting to give everything a shot, giving and stuff. Kendra looked around, her Veela-ness making her a little more bold in the room. It was not something that she was proud of, but she at least accepted who she was, and did not want to manipulate others to her advantage just to get what she wanted. She had done that on a Ravenclaw, and found that the ability to charm was so strong. It was almost scary.

Jeremy Thorne patted down his hair once more as he stepped into the Great Hall. Perhaps making it longer for the night had been a little much, but with his wand back upstairs, Jeremy resigned himself to dealing with it for the night. There was little else he could do about it. He thought the rest of his costume was bad-ass though. Cowboys are bad-ass, plain and simple, he thought to himself as he looked around the room at all the different costumes. Halloween was always a fun night and one of the best parts about it were the snacks.

Jeremy got himself some orange colored punch and a Jack-o-Lantern cookie and then began to look around the room. He took a big bite just before he saw...her. The girl he'd spoken with at the ice cream shop during the summer. Jeremy knew that they went to the same school yet he also knew they were in different years and he hadn't bothered looking for her, even though she'd been on his mind a lot since that day. He had no idea why. Well, that wasn't true actually. She was beautiful and she'd been cool to talk to so that was why. Holding up his cookie-filled hand in greeting, Jeremy hoped he wasn't being too forward as he began to walk over. You're a cowboy, you idiot he scolded himself, trying to embrace his costume for the night. He walked over to the cheerleader and plopped down into the seat beside her. "Hi Kendra. You weren't saving this seat for anyone, right? he asked, his anxious self trying to creep back in.

Dressing like a Cheerleader was perhaps not the best idea in the world, because for someone with Veela blood, she could very well be the center of the feast. Kendra liked being on the sidelines, and she knew only one other person in the school that had her Veela blood was Aphrodite. Kendra doubted that Aphrodite would have different thoughts, but who knew. Kendra loved her little sister to death, but constantly wondered how she managed to get into Gryffindor. The other Snows were in Slytherin, except some of the much nicer ones like Aunt Effie, Head of the Hufflepuff House. With that thought in mind, she wondered where she was too, and what she was dressed up as. Kendra's blue eyes searched, but instead of finding it, she found someone else.

The rather cute Ravenclaw Chaser, one of her rivals on the Ravenclaw Quidditch teams. He was also a Prefect, she figured. And he was dressed as a cowboy. 'A rather cute one,' thought Kendra in her mind but she did not voice her thoughts out loud. However she did not fight the natural smile that spread across her lips when she saw him coming her way, and even greeted her with a cookie in his hand. She enjoyed having some attention, because she believed that much of the attention should belong on her. Kendra would have to tell him that she was no longer a chaser as she wanted to be a Keeper. He would have a hard time shooting a quaffle past her. He took a seat beside her and greeted her. And questioned her too. Kendra smiled, and took the lollipop from her mouth to speak, "Hi Jeremy! And no, just for someone to keep me entertained. How have you been?"

Jeremy couldn't lie to himself and say that he was anything less than pleased with the reaction he'd received. She didn't give him just a simple hey or even worse, ignore him or act as if she didn't know him. She'd actually smiled and when he had approached, she greeted him. By name. Jeremy grinned. "Good. I don't know how entertaining I am, but maybe I can keep you company for a bit?" he asked with a small smile. "I've been pretty good, busy with classes and quidditch and prefect stuff. You?"Jeremy took another sip of juice and then placed his cup on the table. He stared at her across the table for a few seconds, wondering what to say next.

"I like your costume," he began, "but you don't really strike me as the cheerleader type." He paused for a moment and then realized how his comment could be taken. "I mean...you're definitely pretty enough so it's not that..."The teenager continued even though every part of him was telling him to shut up and he finally took another bite of the cookie in his hand to do just that. Did I really just say that? he freaked out to himself as he blushed. Jeremy cleared his throat once and then hastily took another cup of juice, acting as if a piece of cookie being caught in his throat was the reason for his redness.

Kendra nodded once to say that it was all right with her to keep her company for a bit. How ever long she decided to stick around here or how ever long he wanted to stay as well. She thought that Jeremy looked cute, but she also had to remember, he was one of her rivals, and she could not reveal anything that the Slytherins had to the Ravenclaw. Kendra was glad that she was not Prefect because she thought that it would be too much responsibility. "About the same, except replace the Prefect stuff with Heta Omega. I am now the Keeper of Quidditch team, so good luck scoring with me guarding the goals." She winked at the Ravenclaw prefect before she even knew what she was doing. 'What am I doing now? As long as I don't use that Charm I will be fine,' thought Kendra while she looked down at the floor for a moment. Never had she winked at someone before. And now she was doing so to a Ravenclaw boy! At least she added the "guarding the goals" part or else it would have been really awkward.

At first she did not know what Jeremy was talking about before she looked down and laughed. She definitely was not the cheerleader type. She knew this to be true, and what he said next was something that she paused in her laughing for a moment. She flicked her hair back and she said with a subtle, sly smirk, "I am definitely not the cheerleader type. But I do have the body for it." However the pretty comment was kind of disturbing. She thought that the only reason why she was beautiful was because of the Veela blood. Kendra decided to ask, "So, you think I am pretty enough to be a cheerleader? That's flattering, but I think most Part-Veela girls would hear that a lot. I appreciate the compliment though." Kendra hardly missed anything that someone was saying to her. She looked really calm about what he said, and thought that it was adorable that he seemed so shy. Though perhaps the reason why he was red was because he choked on the cookie? "You all right there, cowboy?"

As Jeremy listened to Kendra, he bit back a nervous chuckle. Yes, he certainly had noticed that she had the body for the outfit but he certainly wasn't going to agree with her on that (he knew how skeevy that would seem) and when heard her explain that she was a part-veela, he realized that calling her 'pretty' might not have been the best thing. Some people were sensitive about that kind of thing. He was glad that he had his cookie to distract him because it gave him a few seconds to compose himself. Nodding hastily at her question, Jeremy spoke. "I'm fine. Thanks." He didn't want their conversation to grow awkward, so he returned to a safe topic of discussion, one that Kendra herself had brought up a moment before. "So, keeper huh? That's really cool" he replied, a slow grin crossing his face. He could feel his hair falling over his ears and he hastily pushed it back. Long hair was a pain. He had no idea how girls could stand it.

"Maybe I won't have to score against you if we play together again," he began with a small shrug, "but if we aren't playing together, you better believe I won't take it easy on you...unless, of course, you want me to..." he added with a wink of his own, that grin still on his face. Jeremy wasn't one of those people who played any differently against friends. When he was on the playing field, there were only teammates and not teammates, and people who were not teammates were in his way. Finishing off his juice, Jeremy placed his empty cup on the table and marveled at the way he was behaving tonight. Either someone had spiked the punch with something or his cowboy costume had some sort of special powers that was increasing his confidence.

Kendra was not so much minding about her blood anymore, but she had not been so open about it either. Perhaps she did not want to be as liked as part-Veela girls sometimes were, or judged like they also were too, boy stealers and what not. She thought that she had heard it all. Though it was no secret that any sibling of Alyssa and Theodore's would share the very same blood. Kendra and her twin brother Romaine were no different, even though she was just minutes older than him. She smiled a bit, when he said that he was all right. Normally, she would not have cared, but if anything, she wanted her rival Quidditch mate to be at the top of his game once games arrive. Kendra shrugged a bit at the Keeper thing, "Yeah, I figured changing up my style of playing would be for best for the Slytherins." She smirked even more because she loved to be competitive, especially in Quidditch. It was something that she could go into perhaps after school.

A thought occurred to her, they might be playing with one another again this year, but then she only laughed when he said that he would not take it easy on her, unless she wanted him to. The answer for that was clear, she definitely did not want him to. Kendra finished off the lollipop before she held what was left of the stick in her fingers. "Don't you dare take it easy on me, I would want you to give it your best shot. No pun intended. I hope we are on the same team. The other houses don't get along with us as much as Ravenclaws do." Kendra added the last part with a shrug before she motioned with her hand that she would be right back, and she took the stick from her lollipop to the trash. She came back and sat down in her seat. Kendra thought over how the other houses seemed to hate on Slytherins. Kind of boring nowadays. Now here was a bit of a change, Kendra saw herself growing a little shier, before she smiled a little bit, "I guess cunning and intelligence just fit together huh?"
