It was a rare thing for Saphire to have a moment alone with Sam, with out his numerouse cousins and siblings there as well. She loved them all to bits, but it seemed that recently that she was more of a mother to them than their own parents were.
She clung onto Sam's arm as they walk alone the quiet path together. But she wasn't completely at piece, she had such a huge thing clattering away inside her head that she couldn't keep in away any more.
Stopping, and still holding him close to herself she said quietly but with emphisis "Sam... We have to talk"

Sam hadn't had a day off work with out having to baby sit someone in a long while, and it felt odd not to have to do anything. He could tell something wasn't exactly right with Saphire today, but he could think of how to ask. But anyway, she seemed to solve this with the dreaded words!
He went ridgid, thinking the worst from her tone. "umm. Ok, what do you want to talk about?"

Saphire lead him over to a near by bench and sat down, patting the seat next to him as an invitation. "Let me just think of how to say this." She didn't know how to break it to him. Whether it would be a celebration or a bad thing. She, personally, was happy to be holding his baby but, well, it wasn't the right time and they couldn't live in the house if they kept it. She just couldn't imagine herself not keeping it though.

Sam's stomach was still dropping with every word she said, he thought he knew what she wanted to tell him, but didn't want to be sure. He wanted her to tell him quickly. Just get it over with, he thought. "What?" He almost ordered her to reply.

Saphire flinched at her boyfriends tone of voice, he sounded harsh, almost cruel, and it wasn't helping her talk. "Don't" Her voice was loud and she breathed out deeply to calm herself. "Don't rush me." She was stressed enough as it is, she didn't need him to be pressuring her into something she didn't know how to do. "It's, well, we're, that's not right, I am, no, I'm having, that's no good either." She babbled slightly, not sure how to word it, until he interrupted her. If he hadn't she probably could've been there for days trying to figure out how to say it.

Sam had been clutching a small box in his pocket, but he was begining to think he was stupid for thinking he would need it at all. "Yes? ... Yes? ... Yes?" He tried to encourage her to say what she was thinking and was getting more and more angry at her babbling and non sensicle sentencing. "You want to break up?!" He practicaly screamed at her, trying not to let his voice squeak, and holding back tears, clenching his fists.

Saphire jumped when he yelled at her and tears immediately sprung into her eyes. "Wha... What?" The tears fell but no sobs came from her mouth. Maybe he didn't like her any more. She was beginning to think he wouldn't want the child she was carrying. She stood up, away from him. "Why would you say that Sam? You know I love you!" The only reason he would say something like that was if he was feeling it, that's all she could think of anyway.

Very confused, Sam followed her off of the bench. She still loves me? Than why was she leading him on like this? What else could there be?
Calming himself down and softening his tone "Well, what was I supposed to think?" Then forgetting how near was to her, raising his voice accidently "What would you think?!"

Saphire let out a sob and turned away from the man she loved. "I would think the truth!" She screamed behind her. She didn't want him to see her cry, not if he was going to act like this. She didn't deserve this treatment, not now anyway. The healers had told her to try and be in calm situations, so there was as little risk of losing the baby as possible. That seemed stupid now. She didn't know what to do.

"Look, just tell me whats the matter. Your winding me up, you know I get the wrong end of the stick more than often. Come on. Please?" He hated the fact he'd gotten angry at her. "I'm sorry, just tell me!" He never knew what to do when she cried, particularly when it was his fault, which it wasn't usually. He grabbed her by the arms, turning her around and hugged her. "Please?"

Saphire turned back to him, tears running down her face, and just let her frustration out. She screamed at him, her fists clenched as much has they possibly could, she wouldn't be surprised if she left marks. "I'm F***ing pregnant! Alright?!? I'm pregnant!" She finally broke down properly, waiting for him to scream and curse at her. Saphire fell to her knees and sobbed into her hands, she could tell her was about to yell at her and she braced herself for it.

Sam didn't quite believe what he was hearing, he stood frozen on the spot, unable to make even incomprehendable sound, let alone words or sentences! A few long seconds later he joined where she knelt on the floor and held her as tight as he could, not wanting to let her go, never wanting to let her go!

Saphire stood up, pushing him away from her as she did. "So, what do you have to say?" She had stopped crying now and was tryng to keep calm as she spoke. Her voice broke as she did so but it didn't really matter, she had just been crying in the middle of the floor after all. "Well. Huh?" She crossed her arms and faced him, emotionally she was exhausted, she wasn't used to changing moods so many times in that small space of time.

Sam looked up at her, shaking so much his eyes quivered inside his head. Reaching into his pocket again and pulling out a small box, he rearanged himself onto one knee and opened the little box to show a diamond and saphire, white gold banded ring, "Will you marry me?" He said, as if nothing else in the world mattered at all, as if nothing else could happen. "I love you so much. Please marry me?"

Saphire's arms dropped to her sides and she was in shock. The tears began to flow again but these were happy tears. She had hoped he would take it well but she had never expected this. She jumped back down to the floor with her arms wrapped around his neck. She was grinning, of course he couldn't see her smile, and crying at the same time.

"Well? Will you? Why are you crying? Saff?? Saffy?!?!" He was so concerned she was going to let him down "WILL YOU?!" Now crying himself. A lot.

Saphire laughed at his panic, she really shouldn't but she couldn't help it. "They're tears of happiness Sam." She grabbed his soggy cheeks, him now joining her crying, and kissed him roughly. When she let him go she put her forehead against his. "Of course I will, I love you Sam Mintkin, I love you more than anything." She didn't even consider what they would have to do next. There was no way his uncle would let them stay, not with her pregnant anyway.
