Wasn't What I Expected

So far the first few days back to school hadn't been anything like Kat had expected or had hoped for. First day back she and Andy had gotten into the mother of all shouting matches and exchanged words that hadn't been exactly the friendliest which had seriously upset her, but now things seemed to be getting back to somewhat normal...or at least she had hoped they would be. The root of the problem with her best friend though lay deeper than what Kat had been willing to reach for up until recently. Chace. It was all Chace and as much as she hated to admit it, especially to herself, she still had feelings for the Slytherin. How that was possible she had no clue, but it was true nonetheless. Kat knew that she was going to have to sort through this and nip it in the bud as soon as humanly possible, but what she didn't know was exactly how to do it...or if she even wanted to. Guilt filled her more and more each day as she thought about it. She loved Sumner with nearly all that she was with the exception of that one part of her that had always cared for Chace. Sighing heavily she picked up a rock and threw it over the edge of the cliff, leaning over slightly to watch it fall. "Oh Kat, what in the name of Merlin have you gotten yourself into," she said aloud, horrified at the predicament she was in.
