Alyson gave a small shiver as she walked along the streets of Obsidian Harbor. The New Zealand autumn was feeling quite wintery and seeing as Alyson lived in the northern Hemisphere anyways it was supposed to be a warm spring and not a cold autumn, but she didn't dwell on it long. Weather was weather and no matter how much of a pain in the butt it was sometimes there wasn't too much anyone could do about it. And to complain was nothing but a waste of breath, especially when you had nobody to complain to. She buttoned up her coat and walked on.
She didn't know exactly what she was going to accomplish by coming here. Her outfit stuck out amongst the robes. She supposed she was just here to get a feel for the area, seeing as in about six months she would be living here, well... not in Obsidian Harbor but she would start at Hogwarts New Zealand as a first year in September and to be honest she wasn't too crazy about the prospect. Sure it would be nice to see Arianna on a full time basis again. But one she would be leaving her mother alone, Two Alyson wasn't exactly a social butterfly, and three she was downright scared that going to the school would blow up in her face.
Pushing these thoughts aside for the millionth time she headed into a nearby restaurant. She slid into one of the booths along the right side of the restaurant and plucked a menu from it's slot between the wall and the napkin holder and opened it, scanning what that particular restaurant had to offer, some average things and others she had never heard of before. She checked her wallet and was happy to find that this place was cheap. She didn't have as much money as she would have liked.
