Olive,

I recently had a vision about you buying some supplies at the local supply store for your potions, and I reminded myself that you left the school. I have no idea why, and I hope it was not about the whole calling me a greek god or anything! I wouldn't leave because of that. Well, I am kinda awkward still so I might, but regardless! I wanted to see the real reason why you left. I hope it wasn't because of anything that a student has said?

The school has been rather quiet, but I know this is weird, but Professor Styx, the Slytherin Head of House, is dating someone in the Transfiguration department. I really wish I could have seen that coming. Maybe then I wouldn't be so surprised over it! I'm still teaching here, really enjoying myself. I've not really talked to the other staff members yet, but I stay locked up in the towers studying anyway.

So, how are things?

Bryce,

I was quite surprised but pleased to receive your letter. I have to say it's been a while since I've been in touch with anyone from Hogwarts unless you count a few hours dressed as Yoda a while back! In truth I didn't leave because of anything that happened in the school - Although quitting because of that comment would have been very drastic! I still need to get Monty back for that - I left because there was a death in the family. I needed to leave to help my mom handle a business she'd been partners in with my dad, and since his passing she needed help to get back on her feet and handle it independently. I miss the school, my friends, and even Leda, but I hope this isnt the end of my teaching career.

You know, Professor Styx is the last person I would have expected to start dating! Dont ask me why. Its even more so surprising that it's somebody in the school. Maybe it will make him a little more cherry outgoing, it would be good to see him at the dances for instance! Perhaps they'll end up going together? Locked up in the towers all the time doesn't sound like too much fun, do you at least get to socialise a little at the events? If I ever come back to Hogwarts, I will make sure we get you out more!

I don't write to people much unless it is to keep up with my son, Beau. He is staying with a sister of mine. She is blind but teaches young kids about music. She has a warm heart. I am sorry to hear about your dad. My dad died a long time ago. His sudden sickness is the reason why I wanted to become a seer. I know the feeling. I am glad that your mom has you for some help. My mom had my two older siblings for some help to deal. Maybe you can come back at some point? I know that there will be more openings. I know that the school has a high turnover for some reason.

It actually hasn't changed him a bit. He doesn't seem to be wreaking havoc on his house though, so that's about as cheerful as one will see him. He does go to the dances! He dances all the time with Professor Burke! I don't know if she was here when you were here, but she was once Professor Black. She owned that Borgin and Burkes store a while back. That's all I know about her. I haven't had time to really socialize but I kind of need to. Eventually, one step at a time. I did take part in Secret Santa and have a spare ticket to the Macaws game at any point this year.
