Andromeda waited on the 7th floor. She stood infront of the three dummies that Kailey had shown her. She was well perturbed, every time she had tried to practise her homework something happened, either interrupted or ... well, something.

'Not this time' she huffed to herself.

She didn't know if anyone would show up and she didn't rightly care. She knew they had been all over the grounds this past week, waving wands here and there. It really was a wonder that no-one was injured. Hence why Andromeda had thought it more prudent to come back to where Kailey had shown her these dummies.

They were possibly the ugliest nastiest looking things she had seen in the form of a dummy but once they did the job, she didn't care what they looked like.
She opened up her DADA book and placed it on the ground infront of her, she read over the first spell very quickly then taking a deep breath. She went and stood about 10 feet away from the dummies.

She had been telling herself all along that it was the pronounciation that was important but she knew differently now, the direction you motioned the wand in was equally so.

She swished her wand and flicked it uttering the 'stupefy' incantation. A bolt of red light emanated from her wand tip and went flying in the direction of the middle dummy. The dummy reacted accordingly, it's wand hand shot up and blocked the spell. Andromeda was not impressed. She stepped back another step nearly up against the other wall. She raised her wand again and with a swish and flick said quite clearly, "STOO-puh-fye".

Once again a bolt of red light shot from her wand tip but this time found it's mark. The dummies wand arm did not block but instead crashed backwards as if truly stunned.

Andromeda looked shocked, "Wow!" she smiled then went over to lift the dummy back up. It was of course way to big and heavy.
"Shame I don't know that floating spell yet" an idea came to her, she went to her book and flicked to the page with the new spell that the professor had given them.
She read..'Finite Incantum...reverses most spells... only works on spells that the caster can cast."

She looked at the dummy and held up her wand again.
"Right time to practise another one then" she smiled. she read quickly the motion her wand must take then went back to the other wall.
She flicked her wand and said with little confidence in her ability, "finite incantum".
The dummy remained steadfast. Andy stomped her foot in frustration. 'Right, simply try again' she muttered.

She repeated her actions but this time pronouncing the incantation as, "fi-NEE-tay in-can-TAH-tem". A light shot from her wand directly at the dummy on the floor. Immediately the effects of the previous spell were reversed and the dummy came to a standing position again.

"YES!" Andy punched the air triumphantly, now this was more like it.
She walked to her book and bending down flicked another page and decided to go with the expelliarmus spell this time.

She walked back to the wall and turned to face the dummies. Andy looked up and down the empty corridor just incase and smiling held her wand at her side. She whistled a tune she knew from a muggle western and stood as if she were in a 'showdown'.
"On the count of three varment!" she muttered in a really bad American western type accent, "1... 2...3..." raising her wand she flicked it and called out "ex-pel-ee-AR-mus".
The dummies wand fell to the ground, it's metal hand releasing it as soon as it had been hit with the spell. Andy blew on the tip of her wand and winked at the dummy. She walked over and picked up the old wand and placed it back in the dummies hand again, whereby it's fingers coiled about it's handle.

Andy stood back in surprise, there was still an awful lot that amazed her about the wizarding world. She whistled the tune again out loud as she walked to the wall. She smiled then and turning to face the dummies she held up her wand and looked at each dummy in turn.

Then as quick as she could she swish and flicked her wand calling "STOO-puh-fye" to the first dummy, turning almost immediately once the bolt of light had shot from the tip of her wand to the next dummy and flicking her wand shouted "ex-pel-ee-AR-mus" to that one a bolt of light shot out again but this time this dummy was quicker and shot up it's wand to block the spell. Andy turned to the last dummy and waving her wand up and down said "pro-TAY-go". She was only shielding herself so wasn't sure if this had worked seeing as the dummy had not cast anything at her.

She turned and smiled as she saw the first dummy lying against the wall and with a flick of her wand, said "fi-NEE-tay in-can-TAH-tem" again. Andy was delighted when the dummy shot up into it's orignal position.
'Right' she thought to herself, 'time to go do some theory on the subject".
Andy picked up her book and patted one of the dummies.
"Thanks fellas!" she smiled before heading off to the library.
