Sometimes Matthew would stop and catch himself thinking about Alana, then he would do something stupid. Getting into a fist fight with a random muggle to name just one example. It was strange to think a short fling with a third year could led to so much heart ache for the Ravenclaw. Matthew walked down the now almost familiar Bleak street. He was yet to go home after the end of the semester, choosing to stay at the Leaky Cauldron rather than face his mother, he knew that it would all come out and he didn't want to spend the holidays getting looks of pity from her.

The truth was everything he had been looking forward getting home to, his mother, his movie collection, his friends in the area, none of them were as appealing as they seemed just a few weeks ago. He didn't know what he needed, a friend? a drink? Who knows. As Matthew rounded the corner towards the shadow tavern he suddenly felt himself bump into someone, "Sorry," Matthew grumbled, running into someone like that given where he was quite dangerous and he just hoped whoever it was wasn't in a bad mood that day.

It was after the week that Alana Finch came to his house, and Chaos Zhefarovich was feeling mixed feelings about this whole thing. What was he doing? He had his hands shoved into his pockets, standing at a little over six feet and not looking his age at all. At least the dark expression over his face made him suited for this sort of area. At the end of this street, his cousin waited for him to take him home due to his punishment. Chaos left a bit of a gift for Alana within her bag. Whether or not she bothered with it, it was not really up to him. But he said that he knew how she felt about this whole engagement, and that was about it. The rest was in Bulgarian on purpose. If she could not read it, he would be even mildly entertained. It would likely take a while to figure it out, but Alana should probably learn that language if she hoped to survive within some of the members. Chaos' English was very good, but he figured he would have to teach Alana Bulgarian one day in the future. Not anytime soon, thankfully.

The (almost) murderer felt someone bump into him, and Chaos stopped moving completely. He hissed, "Watch where you are going, kid." Chaos did not have a single clue who the guy was, but he stopped and turned to look at him. The boy was in no shape to be down here. He looked too good. But, Chaos could have sworn he saw him within the yearbook of his second year when he flipped through it. "You don't look the type to be down here. A student from Hogwarts wouldn't know how to deal with the creatures that roam this place. You should leave." His tone was in no way friendly. Nothing Chaos did was friendly anyway.

Matthew knew his choice of word was a mistake the moment it escaped his lips. Sorry was no doubt a word rarely heard in Bleak street, his choice of word may well help to make him stand out. Not that he needed help in that department, he may not have felt like himself but Matthew still didn't fit in with the local crowd and they knew it. He looked up to see just who he had bumped into and he wish he hadn't. The face looking back at him was the same face that had been starring at him from the page of RHI. Chaos.

He could have gone his whole life without ever meeting Chaos. It was bad enough he had lost Alana without having to meet the reason he had. The boy he knew as Chaos might have looked older than the fourteen year old he was but Matthew knew better which made Chaos referring to him as kid all the more amusing. "Do I look like I'm scarred of some jumped up teenager?" He said keeping all emotion out of his voice, if he showed too much distain towards Chaos he could give himself away. "Why don't you just mind your own busines kid,"

Chaos narrowed his purple eyes at the boy. It was adorable, him playing tough. It wouldn't work against him, not from how he was. Sure, there were some shady people around here, but he was in no position to be scaring people right now. He didn't even have a wand. Chaos couldn't help it, he smirked and snickered, "How cute. Using the same sort of insult as I did. Adorable. Besides, it wasn't me that I was referring to. It was other wizards and witches, including hags and whatnot, idiot." Chaos had an escort out of here soon enough, but there were things here that could definitely rip him a new one. He was painfully aware of the situation he placed himself in. But, curiosity took hold, as he continued to stare at he boy. His face was familiar. Where had he seen him before?

'He must not be someone important,' thought Chaos as he reached around and scratched the back of his neck from under the cloak. Chaos finally remembered where he saw the boy's face. Ah! Havoc showed him the yearbook from the previous year, and both were amused about how Chaos was still featured, but that was where he remembered this boy's face. Ever since Alana mentioned his name, Chaos was curious on who it was. Oh boy, this could be fun. "I thought I recognized you. If you are on your way to my fiancee's house, good luck, Matthew. Her father is damn near impossible to impress."

Chaos seemed amused by Matthew but he really didn't care what the boy thought of him. He wasn't important, not to him, no matter how inflated Chaos'own sense of importance was. "Sorry? What insult, I was just stating what you were, and as for the things that go bump in the alley, its so sweet of you to worry about me but I'll be fine, I was on my way back to the civilised world when you bumped into me," He flashed Chaos a fake, hollow smile. For the worst time he felt sorry for Alana having to marry him but he still worried about her too.

Something seemed to change with Chaos and his demeanour to him, had he recognised him? But how? No doubt news of he and Alana had reached Chaos. Half the members of the Zhefarovich family at the school knew, he avoided them all like the plague. As Chaos began talking again he knew the game was up, he knew who he was. Chaos mentioned that if he was going to his fiance's house he should know her father was hard to impress. Matthew scoffed in an attempt to hide how much hearing Alana referred to as Chaos' fiance actually hurt him. "Looks like you've got your intel wrong Chaos, we broke up, I'm not sure whats worse, falling in love with someone who's engaged or her not loving you back," Matthew froze. Cr*p. For the briefest of moments he forgot who he was talking to. "Oh well plenty more fish, " He added nonchalant. This conversation was getting away from him fast.

Chaos thought this boy, this Matthew, was downright adorable. No wonder Alana led this piece of trash on. He must have been really easy. But Chaos worry about a stranger? He shrugged, "Worry? No, I just didn't want to get blood on my shoes from someone possibly devouring you." Chaos paused for a moment before adding with a subtle smirk, "Although, seeing a corpse would have been interesting." Whether or not it was Matthew's, Chaos did not care. He was having a boring day since he took Alana home, and walked her to her door. Like someone was supposed to do but whatever. However, maybe now it can really get interesting. Mainly because Chaos had not delivered anyone torment since he left the school, and he was itching to get a rise out of something. Make someone hurt, cry, or even maim them like had Logan. Chaos was wondering if this would be enough to satisfy his dark thirst.

However, the next thing that came from his lips, it made Chaos' face only look darker, and more sinister. Yet, he started to laugh. They broke up? They weren't even dating from what he understood. And then he fell in love with her? Chaos placed a hand on his forehead before he managed to gather his composure. "You are one sorry bastard. From what I was told, you need to be an item to break up, which you weren't. And you are in love with my future wife? Sad news for you, buddy. I spent the week with her, and she didn't even love you. She told me when we were in a closet. I mean, who can love someone after meeting like, twice." Chaos folded his arms across his chest, and added, "But yeah, Matthew. Plenty of fish. Try to stay away from those that are otherwise taken."

Matthew was a lot of things, a little hapless? Sure. A little soft? Probably. One he wasn't was stupid. He knew Chaos was goading him by mentioning Alana, at this point the boy was probably eying him up as his next victim. Not likely, Matthew wouldn't be pushed around by a wandless child, even if it was a child expelled for attempted murder. But he wasn't Logan. "Whatever Chaos, with your bloodlust I have no doubt you'll see plenty of corpses in your time but mine will not be one of them, I plan to stay far away from you, your family and especially your fiance," That last part was especially true, feel what he may for her, Matthew wanted nothing to do with Alana, whether he openly admitted it or not she had led him on.

Chaos was right, to some degree. They never really were an item. They never actually talked about what they were, at least now he knew why but break up was still the term he used. Regardless of what he thought about him and his relationship with Alana they jad something. Even if it had been a little more onesided than he thought at the time. Matthew couldn't help but be jealous when Chaos mentioned that he had spent a week with Alana, and he didn't even want to think about why they were in a closet together or what they were doing in there. He knew Chaos was telling him all this to get a rise from the Ravenclaw but it wasn't going to happen. "Good for her, you think telling me that is going to hurt or anger me? I'm not in denial, I know she didn't love me, I was just a distraction so didn't have to think about what she had to marry in a few years, but I wouldn't expect you to understand loving someone, I guess that's a little outside your emotional range," Matthew knew he was treading on thin ice but Chaos had no wand, how dangerous could he be. He needed to stand his ground and get the hell out of there. Chaos' words had hurt him but what he said was true, he knew Alana didn't love him and he'd come to terms with that.

'At least he isn't stupid, or is he,' thought Chaos as he raised an eyebrow. Staying away from them all would be ideal, since any of the higher up ranked could kill him in a matter of seconds, and not get caught. Perhaps why he was in Ravenclaw. Chaos shifted his ground before he chuckled. Chaos' purple eyes turned murderous, but it was simply the thoughts running into his mind. "You are brave, or stupid, to be talking like that and not be afraid. You are certainly not normal. But don't worry. Your life will remain intact. You aren't exactly important enough to be considered a threat." He was going to go on the latter, since anyone would have wanted to turn someone like him, or his family in, if they knew what they did. The problem was the lack of proof. His family was smart. Chaos might have been caught once, but that was it. He was learning. That was the most important thing. Chaos narrowed his eyes, and stifled a yawn. This was getting boring. Something about Ravenclaws and them not reacting to anything was just boring. He shrugged his shoulders at what he said, before he said simply, "You know, your lack of emotions are tiresome. Let me give you some advice on women, considering the fact that I have two and you have no one."

Chaos could not believe that he was actually giving this guy advice. Chaos knew that his words probably were rubbing salt into fresh wounds, but still. Perhaps his fun might not be here. "Women like it when you have passion. Your lack thereof will never get you anywhere. I'll tell you right now. I'm a jealous one. Not overly so, but protective and stuff. But you stand there, telling me that love is outside my range. I am almost sure I can, but I won't be stupid enough to fall for someone within a couple of months." Chaos shoved his hands into his pockets, before he smirked. He know that he was possibly no threat right now, but that was beyond knowledge. He always carried something to defend himself. "Don't you have somewhere to be, Matthew? Surely you have something else to do besides talk to me."

Matthew's lack of emotion seemed to bug Chaos which was exactly what he had wanted. Boring Chaos was the best way to get away from him so it seemed, if you didn't entertain him you could walk away. Matthew smirked as Chaos said he was either brave or stupid. It was true, Chaos might not be a threat without his wand but his family was dangerous an crossing them would be stupid, Alana was right about it being too dangerous but that may have just been the excuse she used to stop seeing someone she no longer had feelings for.

Matthew could have laughed when Chaos began to give him advice on women. But he was right, Chaos did have two women, and he had no one. Even if one of 'his women' didn't want to be such. Passion, women liked passion. Chaos was making a big assumption based on how he was acting with him. Matthew wasn't about to show how passionate he could be about Alana. He had been all set to fight for het but she didn't want him to, and now he knew why. "Well, thank you for the advice Chaos, I'll bear that in mind," Matthew put his hands in his coat pocket."Believe it or not no I don't but I think I will be moving on, since your gracious enough to let me live and," Matthew turned his back on Chaos and began to walk away. Something stopped him though and he turned his head back to the former Hufflepuff, "I know it's none of my business Chaos and she'll be your wife one day but, look after her," He turned away from him again and walked away. Not wanting to see or hear hi reaction to such a statement.

Chaos looked up in the direction that he was going to head, before wondering if Benjamen would end up seeing Matthew once he walked away. Depending on which way he was walking. He took a deep breath before he listened to Matthew's parting words. He could not tell if he was being sarcastic or not. Regardless, having him tell Chaos to look after Alana made him look at him in utter confusion written in his purple eyes, but his expression was blank, cold. Chaos was about to ask if she was worth it before the answer came down on him already. If she wasn't worth it, Matthew would not have said a damn thing. Chaos sighed and muttered, "What sort of mess have I landed into." He turned and started walking in the direction where his cousin would wait. Benjamen was no doubt getting impatient with his wait. Chaos thought, 'I'll look after her, as soon as she is mine.' Chaos looked straight ahead as he walked away. As soon as he met with his uncle, asking what took him so long, Chaos just replied with he met with someone he wasn't expecting from school. Considering Chaos didn't have friends in the school, it was hard to explain. So, he just labeled Matthew a 'nuisance' and would ask Havoc to keep him away from Alana if he could.
