Fifth Year meant OWL year, and with the addition of being made Prefect, Kayleigh found herself run off her feet. She hadn't even found a moment to sign up for the dueling competition, and once she realized she had run out of time to sign up, she was furious with herself. Though the Slytherin Prefect had found the secret room with Desislav, she had yet to use it much, not wanting to lug books from the library to it.
Kayleigh heaved her bag over her shoulder and made her way towards the library, but stopped suddenly, watching a familiar head tagging on the wall. "Des!? What are you doing?!" Kayleigh exclaimed, not at all impressed by what he was writing.

There was only one person, well maybe two if he counted his mum, who could make Desi feel like he was doing something wrong just by saying his name. It helped that he was doing something wrong. Very wrong. Turning around and trying to hide the worst of the words, Desislav hid the spray can behind his back. "Just working on something. Now turn back and pretend you saw nothing. I won't tell anyone you were here" he smirked, wiping his forehead with his free hand and managing to smear green paint on his head.

Kayleigh's eyebrows lifted and she shook her head slightly as Des told her to leave. The blonde knew he was a prankster but she didn't expect she'd be the one to have to tell him off. "Des, I'm a Prefect now, I can't just pretend I didn't see anything." Though, she had to smile at his cute face now smudged with green paint. Kayleigh shook her head again, what was she even thinking? "Move out of the way so I can get rid of it, and then you won't be in trouble." She said, pulling out her wand.

Desislav sighed. He knew she'd be less fun now that she was a prefect. It was his turn to shake his head though, a blush crossing his cheeks as he stood his ground. A small part of him was embarrassed for Kayleigh to see exactly what he'd written. She was a lady. "No...just go away and I promise to get rid of it" he stated before mumbling, "just as soon as I finish." He hadn't even made it to the really fun part, caricatures of the Heads of House next to the offensive words.

The Slytherin shook her head again when Desislav told her to go away. She was about to tell him that she couldn't, but she heard his mumbling. Kayleigh rolled her eyes. "Yeah right, are you going to finish it and then just get rid of it straight away?" Kayleigh asked, placing her wand free hand on her hip. She leveled her wand with Des the wall, before speaking again. "Move Des."

Desislav allowed a frown to cross his face as he realized that if anyone was going to be on to him, it would be Kayleigh. They’d known each other for years and years now. The good thing was that he knew her as well, so he knew that even though she was pointing her wand in his direction, she wouldn’t hit him with any spells. There was no way she’d do that, prefect or not. “Make me, Hunter” he dared, a tilt of his head and a raise of his eyebrow making it clear that he wasn’t taking her threat seriously.

Kayleigh scowled when Des dared her. It was hard to threaten someone who knew you so well. "Fine." Kayleigh hissed, pocketing her wand. "Fine. I will." She said, quickly unhitching her bag from her back and racing towards Des, grabbing his middle and tried to drag him down to the ground.

Spray cans clattered as Des's foot kicked them, and Kayleigh actually managed to move him a few inches before he used his weight to secure his space. He let her go for a few seconds more. "Ok...ok. Uncle. Uncle" he called out, laughing, his hands up in surrender. "I just hope you can live with destroying my greatest work" he went on dramatically, "Just make it fast. I don't know if I can bear to watch it disappear." He covered his face with his green-stained hands, peeking after a few seconds. ]He grinned as he spoke, still 'covering' his eyes. "Did you know you get this vein by your temple that starts pulsing when you're mad? It's kinda weird, cute but definitely weird..."he trailed off, a smirk on his face.

Kayleigh strained under the weight of Des, irritated that he didn't fall down. Gone were the days when she could easily match him; they were just different sizes now. As he finally surrendered, Kayleigh let go and let herself land on the floor. She laughed at his comment, it was hardly his greatest work. "This is definitely not your greatest work. You are so dramatic." Kayleigh laughed again, pulling out her wand. His next comment threw her though, and she quickly covered her temples. "I do not!" She exclaimed. "And I am not cute! I am, ferociously fearsome!" Kayleigh declared, still hiding her temples, though she could feel a blush creeping on her cheeks at Des calling her cute.

Desislav laughed as Kayleigh covered her temple and laughed harder as she called herself ferocious and fearsome. "Your middle name is Bambi. I think that takes you out of the ferocious running." She'd made the biggest mistake of her life giving Desi that information as they'd lounged in the room of requirement one day. Crouching down on a knee so they were almost level again, Desi noticed Kayleigh was blushing. He almost made a joke out of it and then stopped, staring at her for a second. On an impulse, Desi darted forward and landed a kiss sort of on her cheek and sort of on her lips. He'd missed his mark a little. "I think you're cute, so deal with it" he mumbled as he retreated in a flash, standing with his back to her and using his wand to cast scourgify.

Kayleigh cringed as Des called out her middle name. It wasn't her choice! And she was sure Bambi grew up to be some magnificent stag anyway. The blonde was glad it wasn't her first name; that would have been embarrassing. Kayleigh moved her hands away as Des bent down, sure he was going to push her over, or something, but he totally surprised her. She sat, dumbfounded for a moment at what just happened. But as a smile grew on her face, Kayleigh pushed herself up and moved to Desi's side, hardly noticing that he had cleared off his work. She gave him a quick peck on his cheek, before softly saying, "I think you're cute too." Kayleigh pocketed her wand, and made to move to collect her bag, the smile still lingering on her face.
