Rebecca Koshiba stepped into the Student Lounge and looked around quickly. Usually at this time of the year the room was rather empty, so she doubted she would find another student in here, but one could never be entirely sure. She sighed slightly in relief as she moved to the corner of the room and sat in one of the chairs she had been using over the past year. She liked this room to read in. The library was alright when the classes got under-way, otherwise it was weird being in a big library all by herself. It was true that Bex usually preferred being on her own, but that didn't mean that she would rather be in a massive library full of dusty old books and huge dust bunnies. She liked the quiet, but the Hogwarts library was much too big for her on her own. In the library she would rather have people around her, provided they didn't try to talk to her however. Bex settled back into the chair, pulled her legs up under her and looked down at her book. It was one of her favourites. She opened it to she page she was up too and leaned over it. She really shouldn't read like this, but it was comfortable and no one else was around anyway.

As she began reading, Bex reflected on her first year at Hogwarts. She had definitely been tested in many a way. From meeting Alan and Paige in the common room, to having Andrea move into her shared dorm room. That had been an experience and a half for sure. She didn't mind Andrea, but she wouldn't refer to her as an especially close friend either. She flipped the book over and started from the back. Half way through last year she had an interesting encounter with a boy in the Owlery whom had caused her to fall down the stairs. She still had not forgiven him for that either. Now though, she could be a little happier. Zoom was in her house! At least now she had family she could talk too.

Why did the castle have to be so big? It was maddening. Just as soon as she was sure she knew where she was going she got turned around and ended up in a empty classroom or worse in a Professor's office. Ugh maybe there was a map of Hogwarts that she could buy. How long had she been wondering around this stupid castle? Nozomi no longer knew what was up or down.

Pausing in front of a door that said student lounge Nozomi pushed it open and walked inside. She figured that she could sit down take a break and if there was any students in here she could ask them to lead her to her house. Walking into the room Nozomi her sister. "Bex! Oh thank goodness I found you. This place is huge. I am so lost." Nozomi said as she rushed over to her sister and gave her a hug.

Bex looked up as she heard a voice call her name. It was a voice she knew well. The voice of her sister. Bex closed her book and the ghost of a smile slipped onto her features. She was glad that there was no one else in the room. Though she still hated her voice, she would more often talk to her family over signing, she figured she owed them that much. Bex accepted the hug and pulled away. "Zoom. Where are you trying to go?" She asked. Bex couldn't remember having gotten lost in this castle, though she supposed it would be fairly easy. Then again, Bex was not one to adventure around the castle. It was definitely a trait more often seen in Nozomi and some of the others. Bex preferred to stay where she knew.

Bex moved over on the seat, it was huge, quite big enough to fit her sister next to her. She patted the chair. "Come, sit for a while. We can talk." She looked around once more to be sure they were alone. If there were others in the room, Nozomi would just have to contend with Bex simply not talking. "How are you enjoying your stay so far. How are your dorms? Not like home huh?" Bex didn't mind the dorms, but she definitely preferred her own bed. Neko and Fukuro agreed with her wholeheartedly.

Where was it that she was trying to go again? Back to the common room would be nice but she heard that if she went to the kitchens sometimes the house elfs would give you a snack or two. Nozomi loved snacking. She didn't have a sweet tooth like her other siblings she mostly stuck to chips and comfort food. "Well Bex I would love to get back to the common room but if on the way there one was to stop off and get a snack I wouldn't say no." Nozomi said wistfully batting her eyes at her older sister.

Deciding that she could at least sit down and rest a moment Nozomi flung herself across her sisters lap and looked up at her with a grin. "This place is not like home at all. You have to share a room with people instead of being able to lock yourself away. You know if its easier we can sign I still know all of it very well." Nozomi had learned to sign at a very young age because when Bex had come to the Koshiba family she had refused to speak and the only way she could communicate was with sign so everyone in the Koshiba family knew at least enough sign to help Bex with something.

Rebecca nodded as her sister spoke. They were not blood related, but that was not an issue for Bex. Zoom and the Koshiba, were the only family that Bex knew. She loved them and was greatful for everything that they had done for her. Bex knew that they could indeed stop by the kitchen before making their way to the Slytherin Common-room, but she wasn't ready to leave here yet, so Zoom was just going to have to wait. "Be patient, dear sister. We can leave soon. First I wish to hear how you have been settling in.

Though Bex had not come right out and said it, she was rather quite proud of her sister. She might not be happy with the dank, dark, shadowy common room of the resident snakes, but Bex knew it was the right place for her to thrive. Why else would the hat have put her in the house? It knew what it was doing. When her sister continued talking, Bex was warmed at her sister's considerations, but she shrugged. She didn't like to talk, that was still true, she absolutely loathed the sound of her own voice. In the end she decided to agree. It would be interesting for any of the other students who might wander in, to see two girls, one lying on the others lap, conversing with symbols they had not seen before. Bex was pretty positive that most of the students here had not seen sign in practice before. It would be fun to test Zoom's skills after a couple of months of months accumulative having not used it. I appreciate the concern, Zoom. Thankyou. Some of Bex's signs were unique to her and the Koshiba. They had made their own signs to fill in the blanks for the nickname's Bex used. It was fun to think that her language was unique. It made her quite happy. Are there any particular classes, that you are looking forward too?
