In the Year 1862 a village in old England became infected with Vampires, it began when the Vampire Lord Edgar the Drainer attacked the mayor's daughter late one Autumn evening, afterwards she disappeared and one by one the villagers began to be consumed by this epidemic. They became so desperate that they left their village and built a small fort on the outskirts while awaiting aide to help them with this terrible situation. Lord Henry and his new wife received the message and the young Lady set off at once to help the muggles.

The moon rose high into the night sky as a black carriage rode silently on the deserted road, normally one would have to fear road bandits however in this part of the country that would've been the least of your worries. The driver was always on guard in case of an attack from some unknown source however as he saw the faint lights in the distance quickly found his racing heart easing. He called out to the guardsman that had been set up and immediately the large gates were opened as the mayor and several other villagers came out of their make shift homes to greet the person that had come in response to their dire situation. The driver quickly hopped off his chair as he walked over towards the door of the carriage, opened it and escorted the young lady out. She was young and very beautiful, graceful and had something that most women did not have in those days; passion.

"Lady Helena!" The mayor cried as he bowed as low as he could, the rest of the crowd did the same as Lady Helena curtsied in response. "I do apologies for arriving at such a late hour, I came in the hopes that I would be able to do something tonight to help ease your burden but I'm afraid it may be too late since morning will soon be upon us" Lady Helena said politely as she walked up towards the mayor. The rest of the villagers however seemed quite thankful that another night was soon past and that they had lived to see morning. The mayor however seemed to be most gracious at the mere sight of the woman that stood before him. "We our so honored and thankful that you have come, though I must confess that I am surprised you have arrived alone. Is the rest of your party arriving later?" the mayor asked as he began making his way through the crowd with his honored guest.

"Please let us discuss these matters away from open ears" Lady Helena said as she was taken immediately into the Mayor's office where a cup of tea was quickly offered to her. She sat behind the desk sipping her tea as the Mayor sat down in the seat normally meant for others but then he was of lower social standing than Lady Helena and even in his darkest hour knew his place. "Now tell me everything" Lady Helena said as she stared into the Mayor's desperate eyes with nothing but sympathy. The Mayor looked as though he were about to cry "Well about a month ago a man appeared in the night, blond and pale and dressed in funny clothes" The Mayor said as his fingers began to tremble "We thought he was just another traveler staying the night but... but..." The Mayor said as tears began to stream down his face "That night he was found in Amelia's bedroom biting on her, when we tried to apprehend him he jumped out the window with her and ran!" The Mayor cried as Lady Helena placed a hand on his cheeks "Please you must continue if I am to help" Lady Helena said kindly.

The Mayor looked into her eyes and continued his story with more strength "two more people dissapeared that night and then the next night several more, the numbers kept growing as more and more people seemed to become infected with this mysterious affliction that causes them to.. to... drink blood!?" The Mayor said almost whispering the last part. Lady Helena knew that most muggles had never really encountered a Vampire before and that it was best if they did not know they actually existed. "It is as I feared, this is a disease that you normally see with animals though it can be past to humans and have slight different effects" Lady Helena said as she stood up and walked towards the window "I assure you that they are not drinking the blood of their victims, merely biting them and infecting them through the blood stream, it is how the virus is transmitted" Lady Helena explained as she turned back towards The Mayor "I'm afraid there is no cure and that anyone infected must be destroyed" She explained in an absolute tone as the Mayor looked horrified. "But Amelia!?" he stammered as tears began to flow through his eyes once more "My only daughter" he cried almost pleadingly as Lady Helena walked up to him and placed her hand once more on his cheek.

"My sorrow for your tragedy is and will always be never ending, however if even one of these infected people are allowed to live than they will continue to transmit this virus" Lady Helena explained as the Mayor slowly nodded. "Very well, thank you Milady" The Mayor said as he slowly began sipping his tea once more, his hand trembling greatly. "They seem to strike only at night and dissapear during the day, when the rest of your party comes we can group together and hunt them down" The Mayor explained however his heart did not seem into the plan. Lady Helena however shook her head "No one else is coming, tomorrow night I shall go into the village and I won't come out until everyone that is infected has been slain. All of you will remain inside this fort and not even look towards the village until I return" Lady Helena explained with a fierceness in her tone that almost caused The Mayor to hold his own tongue. "Milady, no one else is coming!? I can't possibly let you go in alone, you'll be infected!" The Mayor cried horrified by the very thought. "If you must go then we will send an escort with yo-" but he was cut off as Lady Helena slammed her fists on the desk very hard.

"I will go by myself, my husband has faith in me and you should as well" Lady Helena said as her tone flared with anger. "I am all the help you are going to get and I will be more than sufficient, all I require is time and your trust good sir" Lady Helena said as she stared into The Mayor's eyes. "If you cannot do that or do not believe I will survive than I will leave this evening and you will all perish under the infection and I assure you that this disease is quite painful and you will pray for the holy lord to strike you down and deliver you from your suffering" Lady Helena said loudly as the guards outside the room heard and jumped. The Mayor looked terrified as he slumped in his chair "Amelia..." he whispered more to himself than to Lady Helena. "Then we are agreed, tomorrow night I shall enter the village by myself and I will not return until I have saved the soul's of those poor people, I only wish I could save their bodies as well" Lady Helena said with sadness in her voice. She was given the Mayor's bedroom to sleep in and gave strict orders not to be disturbed, she would need her rest for the task that stood before her and as the day slowly past and evening came she left in her gown down the street towards the village, the Muggles may have believed that she was defenseless but in fact she was a witch with a wand up her sleeve and she was more than ready to face the dangers that stood before her.

END OF PART 1

Lady Helena woke up late the next morning wary from the travelling she had performed the night before. When she did awake she ensured that she moved around silently so as to not attract the muggles, she had informed the Mayor that she would sleep late and was not to be disturbed to ensure this he had placed a guard outside her door and so once she had woken she began moving about so that she could prepare for the coming night. Pulling out her wand she opened her small hand bag and began checking to see if everything was there, she had already known what to expect before she had arrived and so she was sure that she would be able to handle anything that got in her way, however double checking would not hurt since she was about to head into dangerous territory. Lady Helena pulled out the note she and her husband had recieved from the Ministry in response to this crises and began reading it over once more.

Dear Lord Henry,
The Minister for Magic has review your plea to send Aurors to address the Vampire epidemic however due to the spreading of Dragonpox in the wizarding world he has decided to wait until further notice due to the fact that the Vampires have yet to reveal themselves and attention needs to be focused on more pressing concerns, we should get back to you in three to four months, good day

Lady Helena did not bother to read the signature that was on the letter, instead she threw it back into her bag and tried not to think about it. She was infuriated like her husband that the wizarding world was so willing to cast the muggles away, was it not their duty to help those that were less capable than themselves. She understood why many in the wizarding world wish to keep Muggles and Wizards apart as much as possible especially with the growing fear of what conspiracy theorists referred to as the merging of the bloods in which it was believed that wizards and muggle that mated together created inferior wizards and risked the destruction of the entire wizarding world. Niether Lady Helene nor her husband believed in such nonsence though many in the wizarding world were and were already compaigning in the slavery of muggles or their destruction.

Lady Helena doubled and tripled checked her things before finally etting dressed and going to see the Mayor, they sat around four pm around a small table that had quite a meger selection of food available "I do apologise M'Lady, food has begun to get rather scarce and many refuse to come out here due to the rumors that we are cursed" The Mayor said in an almost pathetic tone as he looked at the pourage and bread that was before him "Many have begun to go hungry, so you see the terrible situation we have here must be dealt with uickly, will you not reconsider going in alone?" The Mayor asked as if hoping a night of sleep would change the young Lady's mind. Lady Helena merely sipped her tea,she had her own food in the bag and had refused being served however the Mayor insisted on feeding her anyways even though the food was best in the hands of those that needed it more. "My mind has not changed and my conditions are the same, I will enter the village alone and you all will stay here and ignore it, work instead on distrubuting the supplies I have brought here instead" Lady Helena said sternly as the Mayor stared at her dumbstruck.

"The supplies are in the carriage I arrived on and some have been brought to my room, you may go fetch them once I have left" Lady Helena said as she placed the tea down on the table. "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to finish getting ready and do not wished to be disturbed." Lady Helena said as she walked back out to the carriage and waved her wand so that some of the plentiful food she had back in her Mansion was brought over inside the carriage filling it up quite full. Aferwards she moved back to her room where she did the same thing. She looked out the window and saw that it was almost sunset and so decided that it was time to make her way to the village. Before she left however she ran into the Mayor once more "Why not go out in the day when they are sleeping, you could stay the night again" the Mayor suggested honestly concerned for her well being. Lady Helena merely gave the man an icy stare as she was growing quite annoyed by his constant suggestions, she sighed however as she reminded herself that she was in the Muggle world and was viewed as a helpless woman.

"I thank you for your concerns Mayor, I honestly do, but if I try to find them in the daylight I will never suceed there are too many places them to hide and so I must go at night when they are out and looking for food like the wild animals they have become" Lady Helena said as she left the Mayor and the fort to make her ways towards the village, she wanted to pull out her broomstick and fly to the village however she knew that their eyes would be upon her until she was inside the village, it was rather annoying since she had told them to ignore her and the village until she was finished. She had wanted to arrive just after sunset however it would be longer than that now as she quickened her pace ensuring that she held her bag tightly in her hand and that her wand was readily available in case any of them decided to try and attack her. She found herself entering the gates that lead inside as the moon rosed higher into the air, shortly upon entering however she ran into two Vampires that seemed to be waiting for her. "Foolish young lady entering the village of the damned" one of the Vampire men mocked as the other laughed.

Lady Helena showed no fear as she took a deep breath "I have been sent here by authority of the Ministy for Magic you are all in violation by entering and living in a Muggle community and are hereby ordered to leave at once or be destroyed" Lady Helena said trying to be as ofificial sounding as she could. It was not too difficult as she had been raised in a higher social class than most and so naturally had an aura that showed confidence and authority. The two Vampires however merely looked confused as they stared at each other "Ministry for Magic?" one of them asked the other as the other one merely shrugged Lady Helena was shocked, she hadn't thought that the Vampires wouldn't kngow of the exsistence of the wizarding world. She quickly regained herself "Your creator has failed you by not telling you about the real world you live in, I hereby order you to take me to him so that I may discuss with him the terms of his and the rest of your removal from this village" Lady Helena said to the pair as they merely smiled at her. "we'll take you to him miss One said as the other took a step towards her. "Yes we will, af.ter we've drained you of your blood!" the other cried as he leapt towards the young Lady, intent on drinking her dry.
