Italy was Dietrich's favorite place to go during the time that he had the day off from practice with the other guys in Quidditch. It was only natural that Dietrich brought his favorite person in the entire world to his favorite country. His favorite person, who was it? None other than Michael Drape. Today, Dietrich had a surprise for his no doubt and no sense in denying crush on the lad. It was rather chilly outside, and Dietrich felt snuggly warm in his white jacket. His legs protested because they were encased in only jeans. Dietrich went ahead and made reservations for the two in a rather fancy restaurant. He gave Michael directions, and only hoped that he got the directions correct.

Butterflies lined against his stomach as he even thought of the name. This was an official date. Dietrich had never had one of those before that he didn't set up himself. It was rather exciting, and Dietrich couldn't wait to see Michael when he figured it out, unless he had already. Dietrich might not be the smartest boy around, but did he really cover things up so smoothly? Dietrich was excited about today, and it was obvious, so perhaps it was obvious was he was planning. Dietrich shifted his position, and he beamed to himself. Today would be grand, he just knew it!

Michael was ecstatic that he could finally see Dietrich again. Since the last time he had seen the slightly younger boy he had been thrown completely off his game. He couldn't chat people up any more, he couldn't flirt outrageously with anyone. He had lost his touch and it was all Dietrich's fault. He supposed he couldn't blame the guy. He was crazy good looking, fun, athletic and the first male Michael had ever been with. It wasn't his fault that Michael couldn't stop thinking about him. That it felt wrong to have anyone else.

So when it came time to finally meet the blonde again, Michael couldn't say yes sooner. Dietrich was always busy with Quidditch, so it was rare that Michael got to see him. He made sure to get a good night sleep the night before and then apparated to Italy the next day. Michael had been once or twice when he was younger, but back then he hadn't got to experience the true beauty of the place. When he arrived, he felt a little drained from the long trip. Hugging his jumper tighter to him, Michael followed the directions Dietrich had given him.

It wasn't a short walk until he reached a fancy restaurant. He found a small grin reach his face. He hadn't known this was going to be a proper date. His heart did a weird flip in his chest at the thought. As a man in a suit shuffled out of the way, Michael's eyes landed on Dietrich. His smile widened at simply seeing him there. However Dietrich was facing the other way, so Michael walked up to him quickly, hoping he wouldn't turn around and wrapped his arms around him from behind. "Guess who." He said quietly into Dietrich's ear. The smile not leaving his face for a second.

Dietrich thoughts always led back to Michael. Even when Dietrich was thinking about his son. Benjamin, wasn't it the kid's name? Dietrich's life was a little dramatic, for he was a dad and well, he kind of sucked at it. Dietrich knew that he would learn sooner or later. But then again, what if he never learned? That poor kid will grow up knowing that he would never have a step-mother. Perhaps two step-daddies... And then his thoughts went back to that brunette that caused Dietrich to change somewhat over the past months...or maybe over a year now? Time flew, and he forgot when he even met Michael.

Hell, he forgot what it was like not to know him. Dietrich didn't want to think of the time before that. He was sure it was rather dreary. Dietrich almost jumped when he felt arms wrap around him from behind. Dietrich was a little suspicious as to who was hugging him, because he told his teammates never to in public or even in private. However, that voice caused every nerve in Dietrich's body to relax and Dietrich smiled broadly. And not a minute too late did Michael arrive! Dietrich was glad that he was able to make it in the first place.

"I'm a little relieved that you spoke, you about gave me a heart attack, Michael," Dietrich said with a chuckle. Gently freeing himself from Michael's grasp, Dietrich only turned and gave him a huge hug in return. "Dude, I have missed you so much, you don't even know!" Dietrich felt happiness beyond any other. Taking a step back, he motioned toward the restaurant, "Want to head inside now? It is a little nippy out here."

Michael chuckled along with Dietrich and then he turned around so Michael could see his face. The brunette melted. He barely had time to process the image before his arms were full of Dietrich. He hugged the blonde back, breathing in the familiar scent of him. "I think I have a pretty good idea." He admitted with a small smile. He couldn't begin to explain it. Everything he did lately seemed to revolve around Dietrich even though he had been absent from Michael's life for a while. Michael lived with two highly attractive males, one that Michael knew wouldn't object if he made a pass, but Michael found himself pointing out flaws. They weren't blonde enough. Their eyes weren't that blue/green colour that Michael preferred.

"Sounds good to me." Michael said, snapping out of his thoughts. None of it mattered any more. He was actually here with Dietrich now. He didn't have to think about what it was like without him.

Dietrich wondered how Michael was doing, if he was seeing someone, everything. Questions he knew that he would be asking would be coming out soon, but alas, they had plenty of time for talk. Dietrich was glad that Michael agreed with him. If it was one thing Dietrich did not like about Italy around this time of year, it was the nippiness weather. Upon entering the restaurant, knowing that Michael would be close behind. Dietrich flashed a smile to Michael, before turning to the waitress and spoke in somewhat choppy Italian, "Reservation for two under Metzger." After the waitress understood what Dietrich said, Dietrich shook his head and he murmured to Michael, "I really need to work on my Italian."

It was obvious how Dietrich felt about today, mainly because when he was as chipper as this, he commented about everything. Many could call it cute, but Dietrich honestly never really noticed it. The table was set, and there was hardly anyone around the two. It was perfect, and best thing was, this was a wizarding restaurant. The floating candles gave the atmosphere a romantic touch, and it was simply breathtaking. Dietrich took a seat, and motioned for Michael to follow suit. Dietrich said, "Oh, order anything you like. I have more than enough money to cover us both plus a whole Quidditch team." Dietrich winked at Michael, and already had an idea of what he wanted.

Michael followed Dietrich in the restaurant, smiling back when the blonde looked behind him. Michael was pleased to note that Dietrich was just as happy about this meeting as he was. At least that thought made him feel like less of a fool for obsessing over the Quidditch player for ages. His smile turned into a smirk as Dietrich attempted Italian. It was decent, "better than I could do." Michael voiced his thoughts in response to Dietrich's statement with a wink.

They followed the waitress to a secluded table and Michael took a seat opposite Dietrich. Michael let his eyes drift around the establishment. The floating candles spreading a dim light over the couple created a peaceful atmosphere and the gentle Italian music was the perfect background. When Dietrich spoke, Michael moved his eyes back to the younger man. Michael frowned at the offer, however there was a smile still on his lips. It was quite obvious that Dietrich had a lot more money than Michael, the brunette was still studying and Dietrich had gone off to be successful and live out his dreams. However Michael knew there was no point arguing that he would be happy to pay for himself. Dietrich had invited him here after all. Michael would make sure next time, it was him who took Dietrich somewhere nice in return for this amazing evening, which Michael knew it was going to be. "I guess there is no point in me protesting is there?" He asked lightly, picking up a menu and looking over the top of it with a raised eyebrow.

"Unless you wish to argue, then nope, there wouldn't be a point," Dietrich chuckled as he glanced down at his own menu. He quickly found the beverages, and because he quit drinking not only because of his Quidditch teams kept bugging him about it, but also because he didn't want to father any more kids than he wanted to. Dietrich decided that he would be getting a sweet tea, and he put the menu down. "The Italians are superb for their pasta. And well, pasta is one of my many weaknesses. I think you can guess as to what I will be ordering." Dietrich's huge smile never faltered as he talked.

Dietrich glanced up to see that there was a waiter waiting to take their order for drinks. "Sweet tea, please," Dietrich grinned at the waiter, but did not find him nearly as attractive as the male he brought with him today. Dietrich had so much he wanted to say to Michael, and Dietrich didn't bother waiting for the waiter to leave to announce, "Oh, my little brother Damian that is going to Hogwarts New Zealand got sorted into a house called 'Gryffindor'. I don't know whether to be proud of him, cause even he doesn't know what it means, or be happy for him." Dietrich laughed for a moment before shrugging. Because Damian knew nothing about Hogwarts meant also that Dietrich knew nothing about it.

Michael grinned, letting his eyes fall down to his menu. A lot of it was in Italian, but he could make out the general dishes. It all looked so good, but to be fair Michael would eat anything. Michael raised his eyes when Dietrich declared he would be having pasta, Michael placed his menu down. It sounded like a mighty fine idea. He looked up as a waiter approached, quickly running through his mind what he wanted to drink, quickly he decided that, "I'm fine with water thanks." He stated, giving the waiter a small smile and turning back to his date who had started talking animatedly.

Michael was a little confused that Dietrich didn't know about the house of Gryffindor, but quickly remembered he had attended Durmstrang, so wouldn't have a clue. "My Niece is in Gryffindor, she's a great girl. It's the house of the brave and loyal, so you should be proud of him." Michael said with a grin, trying to explain the house to the best of his abilities. He had grown up hating it, being in Slytherin himself. There was always that rivalry that he didn't think would change, even in years to come.

The waiter brought them their drinks, and almost immediately, Dietrich grabbed his tea and took a drink of it. The caffeine, what could he say? It was addicting! Oh, the tea was so good too. Setting the cup back down, Dietrich laughed, "The brave and loyal? You know what Damian said in his letter? 'I got in the red house! But the talking hat said that I would do well in the blue house too! Isn't that awesome?' I always thought he had more brains than bravery, but he is loyal to the core. I'm proud of him now that I know that is what Gryffindor means. Is there a...worst house?" Dietrich was curious, because he knew absolutely nothing about Hogwarts.

"Anyways, how have you been? Got anything or anyone interesting on your mind?" Dietrich raised his blonde eyebrows in a teasing and playful motion, the smirk on his lips mirrored the one in his oceanic eyes. How he loved to hear stories about people and their juiciness. However, he was more interested in keeping Michael talking as Dietrich could hear this older male speak all day and never get uninterested in what Michael had to say.

Michael smiled accepting the drinks with a small 'thanks' to the waiter, but his main priority was listening to Dietrich speak. He let out a chuckle at his brothers reaction. Michael was a little surprised that Dietrich had a brother who was so young. Michael's sister was almost twice his age, she had children who were the same age as Dietrich's sibling. Michael let the thought pass and pondered Dietrich's question of the worst house. "Probably Hufflepuff." He said thoughtfully. "Although that is my unbiased judgement." He said dramatically, his eyebrow lifting for a moment to show that he was in fact extremely bias when it came to the subject. "I myself was a Slytherin." He noted, leaning across the table to say add in a quieter tone. "The house of the wicked and cunning." A sly smirk fell onto his face, before he winked and withdrew to lean back in his seat again. Pouring himself a glass of water as the next question was asked of him.

"I've been okay. Been going half crazy with not being able to see you. There hasn't been anyone and it's entirely your fault." He accused playfully, although if he were being honest, he felt a lot better about himself, now that he wasn't breaking any hearts. "I'm joking of course. I just don't feel up to being the guy I was before. It doesn't seem... right any more." He noted moving his glass back and forward lightly and watching the water slip about. Michael felt comfortable around Dietrich, he realised after he had spoken that he didn't talk about how he felt with many people. Sure he used to lie about his feelings, but the real ones. They weren't things he threw around lightly.

Clearing his throat Michael added on a lighter note. "I did get two new room-mates though." He looked up to meet Dietrich's eyes. "One says he is good friends of yours. His name is Hayden." Michael informed the blonde.

Dietrich knew that the waiter would soon be back for them to order their food. Dietrich knew what he had in mind. Chicken alfredo. Dietrich chuckled, "Biased? I would say so. Then again, I am a bit because I don't even like Hogwarts. I would have preferred him to go to Durmstrang, but he moved in with me and didn't stay with the old man." Dietrich smirked and he said in a playful tone, "And why does that not surprise me? That house suits you. Though it didn't suit Jaken really when he went to Hogwarts." Dietrich shrugged, or maybe Jaken had everyone fooled and really was a sly and wicked person. Or rather, he used to be. Dietrich nodded at Michael's accusation. Really, Dietrich had been busy and he just couldn't fit time with Michael into his schedule until now. Perhaps all that will change. "I think I am the same way. Heck, I haven't really had flings in months, but I think I'm happy with attempting to settle down into a calm state." Dietrich allowed himself to open up to Michael. It was just a natural occurence for Dietrich. Hearing about the roommate part, Dietrich laughed, "Hayden Kerberos! I bet he moved there for that girlfriend of his. I hear he a good snogger when sober. He was excellent when he wasn't." Oh back in the days...

Michael nodded in understanding when Dietrich confessed he didn't really want his brother attending Hogwarts. It made perfect sense considering he himself went to Durmstrang. Michael let out a soft chuckle at the fact that Dietrich thought the house suited him. He felt a small surge of pride swim through his veins, but it was forgotten when Dietrich spoke of how he had been. Michael hadn't had a fling at all, unless the last time he had seen Sophia was after he had met with Deitrich, although he was fairly sure he had seen Dietrich after meeting with her. He really was failing at everything he was good at.

Michael nodded with a grin when Dietrich mentioned Hayden's last name. There would have been no chance of Michael remembering it himself, but he still recognised it when it was told to him. Michael looked away with a small chuckle as Dietrich spoke of Hayden only moving to New Zealand for his girlfriend, to be honest Michael knew very little about the man as he was rarely home. Michael's head snapped back to Dietrich as he mentioned snogging though. Michael raised an eyebrow, not being able to stop the intense surge of jealously that raced through his veins. He believed he didn't like the man as much as he thought he did after discovering this bit of information. "I didn't think he swung that way." Trying to sound disappointed that he hadn't made a move and casual about the situation, picking up his drink to stop any other questions that threatened to rain down on Dietrich. Were you two a thing or a fling. How long did it last for? Do you still like him? Michael hushed his brain, smirking at Dietrich as he placed his water down. He believed he had masked his possessiveness quite well and was relieved to see the waiter come past their table to take their order. Michael looked to Dietrich, not sure what he wanted himself, so letting his date inform the waiter before him.

"Oh he doesn't. He is straight and has a girlfriend. Just don't let him get drunk, cause he probably doesn't know what he is doing, nor would he know what he did." Dietrich chuckled, and he added, "That was a long while back, before he got his girlfriend." Dietrich shrugged, revealing that he didn't like that for Hayden. Two totally different boys, it would never work out anyway. Hayden was a girl lover, and Dietrich...well, he preferred whatever. Right now, Michael was his number one choice, and Dietrich wouldn't be afraid to admit that, if someone asked that is.

The waiter arrived, and Dietrich told him that he wanted the chicken alfredo, and turned his attention back to Michael, before taking a drink of his tea. He smirked at Michael before inquiring, "I hope you are enjoying the company you have right now. I sure am." Dietrich enjoyed being with Michael. If only his job and profession didn't take him around the world...

Michael listened to Dietrich's explanation and relaxed visibly. He didn't mean to be so possessive, it just happened. After Dietrich ordered, Michael looked up at the waiter. "I'll have what he's having." He said with a smile that he turned to direct at Dietrich. "Of course I'm enjoying the company. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be." He knew it sounded cheesy, but it was the truth. If he hadn't heard from Dietrich he would probably be sat at home now, chatting with Gregory, or sitting watching muggle movies. He really did have no life at the best of times. He let out a chuckle at his thoughts and then asked moved the conversation. "So how is being the Thundelarra Thunderer's most-likely-to-be-found-on-a-poster-in-every-girl-and-boys-bedroom going?" He asked with a grin, knowing that truthfully, Dietrich was the most attractive player. Even though Michael had never been a huge fan of Quidditch, these days he found himself watching the occasional game now and then, if only to see Dietrich in his Quidditch Robes.

Dietrich smirked, "Good choice on that one." He took another drink of his tea, and set it down on the table gently. As of recently, he had gotten over his clumsy streak, but he just never could get the hang of floo travel. Dietrich always managed to fall, or fall into something. It was quite annoying actually. Dietrich smiled warmly, and he chuckled, "Oh, sounds like something off of a movie, or out of a book. Though it sounds much more efficient coming from you." Dietrich shrugged at the next question and he answered truthfully, "I'm fine, I suppose. I am living out my dream of play Quidditch, but there is still something missing in it." That of course, was a love for him. But the issue with Dietrich was, he was too much afraid of being in a relationship. Terrified of a commitment. Yet, Dietrich said something, something he didn't even think about first, "You know, you should travel with me. Come and see the world as I do." Why did he just say that? Did he not consider that Michael could have a job, a life?

Michael let out a small, somewhat embarrassed chuckle at Dietrich's statement. He ran a hand through his hair, resisting the urge to reach over the table and snog Dietrich silly. Funny that he hadn't even conjured that thought all evening until now. Michael was tempted to ask Dietrich what he was missing, but he decided against it. He probably would have told Michael if he knew what it was. Michael perked up at the next statement. He hadn't even thought about the possibility of travelling with Dietrich. He was still studying, but the more he did it, the more he found he didn't enjoy it as much as he previously thought he would. What would it be like to travel with Dietrich? He would get to see the blonde everyday. Watch him play Quidditch all around the world. His heart pounded in his chest for a moment. It was a big decision. He realised there was a silence, but he was sure Dietrich would understand why he was taking so long to answer. "I have my study..." He mumbled absently, but he couldn't think of anything else that he had back here. If he went with Dietrich, he would have Dietrich. "You know what? Screw everything I have here, I want to travel with you. I miss you like crazy when your gone, so if you'll have me, I'd love to tag along." He said with a wide smile, running a hand through his hair again, messing it up more than it already was.

The food arrived, at last, and Dietrich was more than pleased to hear his words. "I hope you don't mind if we might have to share a hotel room." Dietrich smirked deviously, and he started to slowly eat his pasta. Oh, the yummy goodness it was! However, it did not taste as good as Michael's lips. Dietrich missed that so much, but now was not the time. He needed to fill his stomach up. Dietrich felt bold, too bold. The question slipped out before he could stop himself, "If you aren't seeing someone, how about you see me?" Dietrich continued to eat a bit, before he caught on to what he just said. He completely froze, and he bit his lip. Uh oh... Uh oh! Dietrich thought.

Sorry I forgot this. But I added an interesting twist to it. XD

Michael thanked the waiter as he presented them with their meal, but he didn't pay too much attention to him as his mind was still buzzing with the concept of travelling with Dietrich. His heart thumped in his chest at the thought that he wouldn't have to miss him if he was with him all the time. He raised an eyebrow and matched Dietrich's smirk at the blondes statement. Oh he didn't think that would be a problem at all... "What the hell gave you the idea that I would mind?" He said playfully with a wink before picking up his fork and taking a mouthful of pasta. He mentally congratulated Dietrich on picking such an amazing restaurant as the food was delicious.

Finishing off one mouthful, he moved his fork back to his plate, but he froze when he heard Dietrich talk again. But maybe he was just imagining what he heard come out of his dates mouth. Did he just? I'm pretty sure he did. Looking up from his meal, he was met by the amazing sight of Dietrich chewing on his lip, but what did that mean? Did he regret what he just asked or was he nervous? There were a lot of questions being asked, ones that Michael had often pondered, but never thought would be brought up. He liked Dietrich a lot, probably more than anyone else he ever had. More than Sophia, more than all the random people he was with. Dietrich had messed up Michael's pattern, because he refused to get out of his head. He wanted this didn't he? His fear of commitment, of getting too close to someone swam through his brain, but with Dietrich looking so damn good across the table, they seemed to fly out of his head. The only thing was he couldn't think of a way to answer Dietrich's question without a lousy yes, so he did the only thing he knew. He reached across the table, curled a hand around Dietrich's neck and leaned forward over the table to plant one on him. He had to stand slightly to reach, but he didn't care. The kiss they shared was so worth it. Not wanting to make too much of a scene, Michael reluctantly pulled back and took his seat again. "Does that answer your question?" He asked, but without his usual smirk, instead he smiled a warm satisfied smile.

Squee.

What had Dietrich done? Could he have ruined their friendship? Oh, Dietrich was distraught and almost ashamed of himself. What was done, was done though. He could not take it back, not like he wanted to. This was a once in a lifetime chance, maybe, but it was out and in the open now. Dietrich was nervous about the answer, but what he was not expecting was a kiss. Dietrich feared commitment to someone so much, but with Michael, all reasons were thrown out of the window. Dietrich savored the kiss, the familiarity of Michael’s lips upon his own. Dietrich had to say that he was honestly disappointed when Michael pulled away. Then again, a scene in the restaurant was the last thing either needed. “Um, I believe that does… Well, I know that it was not planned, but still… Let us finish our date, shall we?” Michael chuckled, but gave Michael a devious look from his blue-green eyes. Dietrich continued to eat his pasta, as no words could describe how giddy he was right now.
