Desislav was walking around with a tray full of canary creams, a pleasant smile on his face which was as a result of the face paint he had on. He was wearing a clown costume, and a painted on smile pretty much came with the territory. "Can I interest you in a candy?" he asked each person he passed. Sooner or later, he was bound to find someone who would take the bait. Maybe a muggleborn who didn't know what canary creams looked like. Or a first year who didn't know his reputation as a prankster. Or a professor who was hungry. He'd be happy with any of those.

Kayleigh had really gotten into her character, and was stumbling around, growling at people. It was just the beginning of the night, and she knew by the end she'd tire of being a zombie. She saw a familiar face - well, semi familiar. It was, she thought, typical that Des had dressed up as a clown. He was one without the makeup anyway. Kayleigh laughed, that was a good one! She was going to have to say it to him. She didn't mean it in a mean way. He just always made her laugh and he liked playing tricks on people.
Kayleigh jumped up next to him, taking a candy, nearly popping it into her mouth, before narrowing her eyes and looking at her friend. "Why are you giving out free candy? What have you done to them?"

Even through her costume, Desi recognized his good friend, Kayleigh. He really liked her costume, and he was happy to see her in character. Halloween was supposed to be fun, and he liked when people enjoyed it. If it wasn't that he recognized her looks, the Gryffindor would definitely have known her by how suspicious she was. Kayleigh knew him well, so she was fully aware of why she should be cautious. "Done to them? What do you mean, Kay? It's Halloween. I'm just trying to be nice" Desi stated innocently enough. Smirking, he continued. "So, where's your costume, Kay?"

Kayleigh cocked an eyebrow, not sure whether to trust her friend or not. He was dressed like a clown. He acted like a clown. He was giving out free candy. Free. Surely something had to be happening. Against her better judgement, Kayleigh picked up the candy again, and put it in her mouth. She was about to retaliate to Desi's rude comment, when she coughed instead. Her eyes narrowed as she knew she had done the wrong thing. Kayleigh was never going to trust food from this boy again. Or anything! Within a few seconds, the blonde was now a large canary. Kayleigh hoped Desislav remembered how fast she could run, embracing the laughter from around her as power. There was nothing she could do now. But in just under a minute more, she'd change back. In 3....2.... "I am going to kill you, you clown." Kayleigh said, though not actually that angry. It was her fault. She should've expected it.

Desi didn't know how he did, but he managed to keep a straight face as the treat moved closer and closer to Kayleigh's mouth. The painted on smile sure helped to mask his reaction. As she burst into canary form, Desi's laugh was one of the loudest one. "Now that's a costume!" he called out breathless from laughing so hard. Desi couldn't have found a better victim. He knew that he'd just declared war and Kayleigh confirmed as much when she had molted and taken her zombie form again. The third year backed up slowly, one hand in the air. "C'mon. That was hilarious" Desi exclaimed. "Look. I'll take one too" he stated and without a second thought popped one into his mouth. As he turned into a canary, Desi did a little dance, not above making a fool of himself. "See?" he laughed as the small audience that had gathered laughed again. Desi bowed as he molted the feathers. "Now we're even, Kay. You can't kill me" he reasoned.

Kayleigh kept a straight face as Des backed away from her. She crouched down, tilting her head and made a staggering step towards him, full zombie mode. But, in a flash, Des had become a canary. She let herself smile a little as she stood up straight, and fought back a laugh when he did a dance. At least he knew how to have fun. Kayleigh still had the smile on her face when Desi said she couldn't kill him. "We are so not even. You did that to yourself!" Kayleigh said lightheartedly. She placed a hand on her hip. "You will get yours one day Desislav Zhefarovich." Kayleigh started, feigning power, as if she were a mighty queen. "It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow. But one day. One day, I will get you." She finished dramatically, before cracking a smile. Kayleigh definitely wanted to pay him back tonight, but she couldn't think how. She would have to ask for some advice, it would be hysterical if Des suggested a prank that she then pulled on him. As the small audience scattered, Kayleigh walked closer to Des, keeping her hands up to show surrender. "Wouldn't it be great if you got one of the Professors?" Kayleigh exclaimed.

Desi wasn't all that worried, but he sure did like the challenge. He listened to Kayleigh add he stated at the number of canary creams he had left. If Kayleigh was anything like his sisters, that magical day they spoke about when they'd get him back, yea, that day would never come. "Good luck with that" he replied with a smirk that made him look exactly like his twin. As she walked closer, Des stared at her. He knew that Kayleigh was a smacker, and he was certainly due for one. Her words brought a broad smile to the boy's face and he pretended to wipe a tear of pride from his eye. "Now you're talking, Kay" the teenager proclaimed. "I've been trying to get close enough to the Headmistress or Deputy Headmistress" he explained, "Go big or go home." The blond hadn't succeeded yet. They were always surrounded by people and Des wasn't exactly the kind of kids who went up to professors.
