Too many sheep for my liking...

New Zealand was a strange place, Falcon had decided. The countryside that had past by out the window of the rental car had held an abnormal amount of sheep and funny looking ferns. Though he much preffered Canada, and surprising France also, this strange little country with the weird accented people, was quite nice. It was also the height of summer here, a nice change from the freezing winds of of Canada and France. Falcon was here with his new parents of a year, visiting Arianna. They had chosen to come to New Zealand this time instead of Arianna coming to Canada like normal, so that Falcon could see New Zealandand they could all get a break from the winter.

Falcon was finally by himself after spending twelve extremely long hours on the plane to Auckland. His adopted parents were off in search of somewhere to stay, and he had been allowed to go and do whatever he liked. Enjoying the sensation if being independent again, Falcon was now changed into a lighter tshirt and shorts, and walking around observing kiwis of all ages lying about on the beach. Falcon looked almost longingly at the people swimming in the calm waves on the shore. If he had known how to swim, he would have dove straight into the cool water. The heat was so intense. He looked around briefly at the bunch of bikini clad girls to his right. They were giving him curious looks, probably finding his milky white skin amusing. Uninterested, he moved away from them without a backwards glance, headed for a deserted seat partially in the shade. Sinking down on it, he was glad of the trees providing some relief from the sticky heat.

Now that summer was back there was no question what Riley wanted to do with her holidays. The first morning of the break the small blonde jumped out of her bed and was in her bikini in no time, without thought she pulled her sun dress over her head and threw on her well loved pair of jandals. Within no time she had called out to her mother that she would be back for dinner and she was off to the Nelson beach to soak up the sun and maybe even surf the waves for awhile. Sliding down the soft sand the sixteen year old leapt and galloped until she reached the cool and refreshing sea spray. Discarding her dress she leapt right in and felt the cool water wash over her as she dove down. It didn't take long for her tire of frolicking within the waves and Riley found herself back on the beach. Slipping through the crowds of sunbathers the petite girl clambered back up the bank and leant against a tall tree, carefully perching on one of the larger branches and peering down onto the rows of umbrella's and picnic goers. Riley leant down as she tried to look beneath the vast branches that sheltered smaller part of the beach, her long blonde hair fell against her face as she did and she spat out a strant of hair that fell across her lips. Swinging her thin legs over the cliff she hummed to herself as she gently plaited the side of her hair so it wouldn't be a bother to her for the rest of the day. As she leant down further and further the hufflepuff felt the branch bending forwards, beofore she had a chance to stop it she felt herself slipping right off the edge and falling to the ground. Landing with and "Oof" she blinked and looked in front of face.

As she looked up she realised that she had fallen from the tree right onto an innocent shade seeker and she felt herself immediately turn a shade of pink. "Oh..I'm s-so sorry" she said, feeling her cheeks warming as she spoke. Taking a closer look Riley saw something she had never expected to see, right there right in front of her was Falcon of all people, Arianna's cousin who she had so badly humiliated herself in front of when she took a trip to the Tipley house. "Is that you Falcon?" she said, hardly believing her eyes. Last she had heard, he had settled in at Beauxbaton's, she had never expected to see him in NZ, let alone be sitting on his lap. Shifting awkwardly she realised she was still sitting on his lap and she hurredly lept of onto the soft and cool sand next to him. He wasn't exactly his friend, but she supposed she could make some light chatter with him for now. "What are you doing here?" she said pulling her dress down, suddenly becoming rather self concious about its length and the amount of her skin it had left showing. Looking around awkwardly she remembered it was this awkward the last time she had seen Falcon, and her sudden 'dropping in' had obviously made the two teens more uncomfortable than ever. Playing with the delicately plaited bracelet around her wrist Riley waited for Falcon to break the silence between the two and hopefully help her recover from embarrassment.

Looking a little longingly a somebody holding an ice cream the ones that he really liked, Falcon was contemplating going and getting himself one. The strange blue ten dollar note in his pocket was meant for these purposes. He was just about to brave the scorching sun to search out a dairy of some sort, when with a thump, something with blonde hair fell onto him. A girl he quickly realised, and one that wasn't wearing very many clothes either. Did girls just fall out of the sky in this country? Not sure if that was a good thing, he glanced up and quickly realised she must have been in the tree that was shading him. Falcon looked down properly at the girl that was still sprawled across his lap. Having an attractive and barely covered girl sitting on him was beginning to make him feel a little uncomfortable.

Particularly uncomfortable when he realised just who this girl was. Riley had stayed in his thoughts for quite some time after their meeting at his house. The blonde girl had been a little annoying, though at the same time Falcon couldn't help but be interested in her. "Uh- Yeah. Hey Riley" he said, ignoring her apologies. She was still in his lap, though Falcon didn't exactly want to tell her to get off him, as it might seem rude. He was immensly relieved when she rolled awkwardly to the ground. Trying to ignore the hem of her light dress that she was tugging down, he looked down at his hands for a moment. Looking back up into her undeniably pretty eyes, he said "I'm here to see Arianna with her parents... And to get away from winter for a bit" The last part was accompanied by a wry smile, though it was weak on his face. Falcon's feelings towards Riley were still mixed, and so his attempt at humour had been weaker than normal.
