OOCOut of Character: Time setting
The following takes place at Durmstrang Academy in the year 2017.

"Drat" Irene said aloud as a clap of thunder caused her to jump, sending her spell over the shoulder of the mannequin she had been targeting. It was a powerful spell, leaving a char mark on the wall behind the mannequin. Irene strode to the window and peered out, looking up just in time to see a lightning bolt light the pitch black sky. The sheets of rain beat against the window pane and the candles in the near empty classroom waved with the wind that drafted in. Moving away, the sixteen year old held her wand in front of her once more as she circled towards the mannequin. "Confrigo" she cried, a jet of light flying out and hitting the mannequin in the stomach and causing an explosion. She smirked, pleased at seeing the spell connect. As the mannequin put itself back together, Irene crossed her arms and turned.

Referring to an open textbook that was on an empty desk in the corner of the room, Irene spoke aloud. "No...no...aha. Now that looks interesting" she finished with a nod, her accented voice breaking through the light draft in the room. Irene glanced at the clock, noting that she only had about 20 more minutes before she would have to head back to her dormitory. She had just become a prefect and knew that she would not be setting a good example by arriving late. People like her brother, Ioan, could care less about curfews and such, but Irene could never muster up the courage to rebel in that way. "Confrigo" she said, turning quickly. Her spell hit over the shoulder of the mannequin. She sighed. Her aim was always a problem.

Flares of lights bounce across the room, hitting a form of mirror causing to reflect just outside the boundaries of the corridors. The beam of it's radiant reflection drew him in, if not he would have gone the other way towards the boy dormitory, taking the much shorter way so he wouldn't miss tonight game of 'who is the killer'. It was his turn tonight, he clearly remember when Stevens told him that morning before he headed to his Transfiguration class. Had he been in a hurried, the mystery aura would mean no interest of him, than he saw the beam again, this time a rather loud explosion follow after the beam that blinded his vision, he was now station outside the room.

Though he also happen to hear the voice that linger once such spell was manipulated. The blonde went on his little side tracked to search, following the voice, till he saw her from the back of her tawny hair and the uniform she was wearing that curve her figure oh so well, he saw his best comrade sister performing spells all alone, deserted room. No one in sight, perfect time to make an intro. "Is that the best you got?" the much younger looking Lukyan grab the chance to mock her when Ioan wasn't around. It was his favorite past time with her, so why not? He plastered a smudge grin and toyed with his wicked tongue the minute their eyes would meet. He lives to see her blue eyes scorn him and her hate names she would use just to hurt him, but never did bother but amuse him further to taunt the girl further.

With her brother having graduated the year before, Irene found that most of her brother's remaining friends didn't really care about her. It didn't matter to her because she didn't like most of them anyway. They were idiotic thugs in her opinion and she had no idea why her brother called them friends. Most of them were nothing but bullies and the ones who weren't were still arrogant and vapid. One of Ioan's friends persisted on lingering around her though, and it often made Irene wonder if Ioan had asked his friends to keep an eye on her. Perhaps it was because they were in the same year, or perhaps it was because he was utterly annoying. Irene assumed it was the latter.

It figured that he would think to enter an empty room where someone was practicing exploding spells. He was arrogant like that. Irene toyed with the idea of ignoring him, but leaving her back to him didn't seem like a good idea. With her nose wrinkled as if she smelled something bad, she turned around. "Ugh...it's you. I should've known" she uttered, her hands going to her hips. "Don't you have someone else to annoy?" Irene didn't even bother any attempt at friendliness with Lukyan. It didn't matter anyway. Her attitude never seemed to get to him, something that infuriated her to no end. She tapped her foot impatiently waiting for him to respond or leave. "Well? I've only got twenty minutes left to practice and you're wasting them" she declared.

Lukyan chuckle, he just said a few words and already the young brunette was tick off at him. "Relax woman, you act like I'm going to bite you or something.." he said with his wise arse looks, "I mean unless you want me too" he suggested with a wink of his eyes, and his eyebrow quiver to an arch to mock the way she was standing looking at him. It made him laugh harder than he already was, girls were the easiest targets. They also make it so difficult on themselves, when really at the end they fancy the guy right back. Playing the hard to get card was getting old between the two of them.

"Now C'mon you know you want me around. I can probably show you a trick or two" he took out his own wand, this one was carve out of the willow trees in Russia. It had the heir of veela and the blood of his ancestors, useful old stick to put it simply. He twirled around on his heel and made the mannikin rotate in circles. He did that a few times, till a green sparks blasted out of his wand and the mannikin busted into pieces, the force had been done ten times stronger than the blast Irene conjure. He could see that some of the pieces had turn to ash and dust, just tells you how powerful that hit been. "Easy as pie.." he look over at Irene after the use of repairing charm on the mannikin had been done. "I can teach you, if you like? Or we can do something else..." he said stepping a little closer to test her personal space.

Irene continued to stare at him with the same expression of disgust, especially when he asked if she wanted him too. Too? Irene had never even considered the fact that Lukyan's annoying hovering was because he liked her. The thought made her pause for a moment. Sure, Lukyan was good looking. He had wavy blonde hair, a nice sounding Russian accent and he was very easy on the eyes...but he was also arrogant, a know-it-all and a bully so she wanted nothing to do with him.

"Um...no" she replied sarcastically as he spoke. When he took his wand out, she eyed it warily. What did he want to do? When she realized he was going for the mannequin, she stepped out of his way and watched. Her eyes widened as he hit the object with a spell much more powerful than her own, and she turned to regard him with a new set of eyes. "That was...actually impressive Lukyan" she admitted slowly. As he mentioned showing her, she was on the verge of accepting his offer. He was more skilled than she in Charms and she needed the help. Getting less than an O in the class would not be acceptable in her book. As she opened her mouth to speak, Lukyan continued and she shut her mouth. Her wall slammed back into place at his next words and his intrusion into her personal space. Stepping away quickly, she headed for her books and began packing them up without looking at him. "There is nothing I want to do with you" she replied, her accent growing heavier.

Lukyan had the skill to p!ss anyone off even if he didn't mean too. This time he really didn't, he actually wanted to show Irene a few skillful charms. "Ugggh, please don't go. I'm sorry I didn't know if that offend you or not" any other girl and they be delighted in a heart beat to do anything with Lukyan. Irene not like other girls, she plays really hard to get. And boy was she hard to get with. He step in front of her so she wouldn't leave the room just yet. "Please..?" he beg, his eyes sweeping down her enchanted blue, they look mean to him course he found no threats from the like of them. It only made him want her to stay more.

He completely forgot about the game he was suppose to attend with his comrades, the game vanish out of his mind. Right now he was making an effort not to seem like a d!ick to this dark brunette. Stepping back he level his wand down and smile. "How bout a little friendly duel? That sounds interesting enough for you to stay?"he suggested. He sounded sincere and hopes a friendly game of dueling would stall her more and kept her around longer. Lukyan can make anything sound truthful, it's a gift. He use it a lot mostly when trying to achieve a greater goal.

Irene paused, her hands holding onto the final book that was halfway to her baby blue shoulder bag. She looked up slowly, her icy blues eyes quite wary as she listened to him ask her not to leave. When he apologized, her jaw nearly dropped, but the teenaged witch was able to maintain her composure. She knew what the other girls said about her behind her back calling her the 'Ice Queen' not only because of her eyes but because she was a b!tch especially when it came to the guys at Durmstrang. So, she could understand Lukyan wondering if he had offended her. What she was rather surprised about was that he cared.

As he stepped in front of her and stared her down, she fought hard to look away. She'd heard from the gossip mill that the teenager before her was had veela blood in him, and if that was true, she didn't want to be prey to his veela charms. Irene had her own mind and prided herself on not following the other Durmstrang women, who seemed to throw themselves at guys like Lukyan. Tearing her gaze away, she looked down at her bag and put the last book in. His request made her eyes shoot up once more. Was he really asking her to duel. She considered it for a minute, and then spoke. "I don't know. It's getting late..." she trailed off, realizing how lame she sounded. Licking her lips, she made the mistake of looking at him once more. Slowly, she nodded. "Fine...but if I miss curfew, I'm going to make you regret this." Irene dropped the bag back down onto the seat and held her wand at the ready as she walked to the other side of the classroom. "On your mark" she nodded.

"Don't worry" he said before Irene march on to the other side of the room Lukyan folded back his robes flap by the collar and showed off a small pin, sketch in the middle was the sign of a Perfect. "Not everyone knows I'm a perfect so I keep it to myself and do what I'm suppose to do unnoticed" he knew how it work with his friend. They'll take advantage of his position and he be dead before he let that happen. There always something secretive about Lukyan, to bad not many are clever to catch on. He did everything with quiet hands.

Rolling around in place, he stretch out his hand. Something easy will do it, he did the first spell that pop into mind. Stupefy!"a jet of light sprung from his wand and his aim was accurate as a bee line. I'm taking it easy on her, for now he thought. That spell could be easily block in his opinion, but against a girl you could never know. Some just lack the strength sometimes, he was sure however that Irene could do better. That's why he was doing it easy, till it got a little rough.

Irene rolled her eyes at Lukyan. She knew he was a prefect because she'd caught a glimpse of him at one of the meetings. It didn't change anything in her mind though, especially since he didn't seem to delight in being a prefect. He kept it hidden as if it was something to be ashamed of, which it probably was for his group of friends. Her own brother had never had any ambition to become a prefect and when she'd shown him her badge, he'd shaken his head and spent the summer teasing her, though he had admitted that he was proud of her too.

Irene knew better than to think there would be a warning. It was a duel after all. Instead, she simply stood, wand out and arm tensed. She quickly defended against the red stream of light that came from Lukyan. She was actually decent at defending against spells so she quickly muttered, "Protego." The spell deflected off of the shield she'd produced. "Not bad Kozlov" she teased, a small smile creeping onto her face. She knew just what spell to try out on him and quickly lashed out with her wand "Silencio." She saw the spell fly his way and hoped he wouldn't deflect him. Irene'd never heard him shut up for more than a few seconds. She'd give anything to see a silent Lukyan Kozlov.

luk.png
It wasn't necessary, in fact he could've use any spell to defend himself from silencio. However as he step it up a notch, he ended up shouting "Protego Duo!" as a defense spell, than went a long the line with hexes and curses to make the duel plenty fun for him. The first hex occurred as he went for a counter attack, was the stinging hex. Lukyan use the shield to move around, before his wand let out another jet strings of light hurling at Irene's direction, this time a raging red blasted from his wand aiming at the woman face. He took no regards to his actions, plus she felt like a challenge. No fun if he made it all easy for the ice queen. "C'mon, C'mon are you going to let me do you in now? I thought you were more feistier than this?" he voice, a coy smile linger his pale lips.

irene1.png
In the next few moments, Irene found herself using every bit of her concentration to ward off the hexes. One grazed right over her ducked head, the wind from the spell ruffling her hair. She was fairly certain it was a stinging hex because it hurt. The others she managed to dodge away from. She stared daggers at the guy across the room from her, frustrated that she was not able to send off nearly as many spells as he had.

She sucked in a breath as he spoke and let it out in a whoosh. "You want feisty?" she asked in annoyed voice. Was he seriously just playing with her? "Fine" she bit out, sending out three hexes, one right after the other. The last was Densagueo, and she watched, a smile growing on her face as she was certain it was going to hit. Seeing Lukyan with overgrown teeth would be hilarious.

Lukyan could tell the heat was getting to her. Irene made a face and responded what a normal response would come out of her, when things seems to be getting frustrating for her. "No I want your goddamn best" he stated. "If you can't keep up than your lacking and your just holding back, knowing well you are way better than me" she pride herself in books and knowledge, Lukyan did not. He did what he did and what he wanted to at the right time and right places, that's how he get praise. Plus he was damn good and naturally gifted. Books became important later on in life, this however he didn't know yet.

Irene threw three hexes at him, Lukyan duck the first and third, the second was not so good. One of his leg went was turn completely backward, making him stumble, Lukyan bite back the pain. Quickly as he could he shouted in pain the last two spells, one "Petrificus Totalus!" at Irene the next Finite to end the the spell that halfway cause him pain. One or two legs, the experience end up being dreadful, lasting over two minutes till it was broken by his counter spell. On a bad footing, he stayed still for the pain to sober down, except he hadn't pay no mind to Irene the entire time he was getting over the ordeal she had put him almost through a tough spot.

irene1.png
Irene's jaw tightened as Lukyan practically scolded her and told her to give him her best. Who did he think he was? She barely even took note of the fact that he was actually complimenting her abilities and pushing her to try harder rather than give up. As the knee reversal jinx hit him, Irene grimaced. It was completely gross to watch and the pain he was in, although it filled her with pleasure for a second, was intermixed with a lot of worry. She took a step forward. "Lukyan...are you alright?" she asked, unsure of what to do. It was unnecessary though and Irene should have been paying more attention to defending herself.

In the next second, or so it seemed to her, Irene heard Lukyan shout out a spell at her. Before she could even lift her wand to defend herself, the spell had hit her in the stomach and Irene found herself under the effects of the Full Body Bind. Since she'd been about to take another step, the spell knocked her off balance and she was laying on her side, facing Lukyan who appeared to have used Finite to stop her jinx. The teenager tried to say 'Finite' but nothing, not even a whisper would come out of her. A flood of curses in her native Romanian began to course through her mind, hoping he would gloat for a moment and then take the effects of the curse off of her.

Lukyan's pain finally minimize to the point he could walk without cautious. He bend over to breath in a little better, after the bone had snap back in place he couldn't help but just breath that way. The pain had corpse through his entire injure side, you would imagine how that would feel. Yet he was fine and dainty when he saw his very own opponent had crash to the ground completely stone still. Irene, made no sudden movement to get up. The spell effects made the entire victim body still stiff, bloody hell thought she would be a challenge.

He took a second the gloat in silence, well ready now to fix her up. As he was about to break the spell, his attention fell to some place else. He could here foot steps, actually several making their way to the corridors outside of this abounded room. Someone even call his name, "Lukyan you little prick, were the hell are ya? We need to start the game!" the boys from his dormitory were looking for him, and here he stood looking down at Irene again. He had minutes to react quickly, th elast he wanted was his mates to see him here with her, cause they will do anything to make the ice queen look like a slore.

He bend over, sporting a smirk. Let's leave her breathless? He went inches away from her face, ending the spell he gave her the quickest but deepest kiss he could muster out of nowhere. His lips tangle with Irene, till she had feelings back, he did what any guy would do in that position. Get the hell out fast, he apparated two feet away. "Thanks, that was soooooo worth it", he ran out the room before his friend discover Irene and him in the same room. She would never follow him with his friends and admit he stole a kiss from her very lips. that be the last of her ice queen reputation.

irene1.png
Irene didn't like this spell one bit, especially once she realized that she really was at Lukyan's mercy. She didn't like the lack of power and control at all. As she watched Lukyan watch her, Irene tried to send daggers with her eyes, but she knew he probably didn't even notice a change in her facial expression. Still, if looks could kill, Lukyan would have suffered a fate worse than Avada Kedavra.

The worst thing about the spell was that she could still use her sense of hearing and sight, and at the same time that Lukyan heard footsteps, she did too. Irene listened as the boy's called out for her. Please, release the spell first. Please, release the spell first, she repeated to herself over and over. She knew that he would probably find it hilarious to simply leave her there. When he bent over her, she was expecting just that, but what he said and did was even more shocking. As his lips touched hers, Irene's eyes widened and she froze in place as if another petrifying spell had hit her. It lasted much longer than she thought and when he finally stopped and pushed away, a feeling of regret tugged at her. It was soon swept away with his words. Pushing herself up, Irene stomped her foot and let out a sound of frustration. It was to the walls though because Lukyan was gone and she sure as Merlin wasn't going to follow him.

After standing and staring at the door for a few minutes, Irene finally snapped out of it and began to pack her bag. "What a jerk" she muttered. She fled the room, looking to be sure that neither Lukyan nor his friends were around as she made her way to her dorm.
