Alex never would have imagined being in an arranged marriage, getting married at twenty and actually develop strong feelings for the man before being with him for not longer than a year, by choice. Alex had admitted her feelings towards him were real after she had spent more time with him. He was nice, he took care of her and helped her with a lot of things that needed to get done. Most of all, Ryder was interested in her, in her life and how she was doing. Alex was more grateful to her father now than at the beginning of it; by some miracle he had known the perfect type of person Alex needed. Or, it was just dumb luck. Whatever it was, Alex was rather happy with how things went and the more she got to know Ryder the closer the felt to him, she really did feel safe around him. Alex had needed closure after what happened to her mother and although she had doubted and was against the arranged marriage at first, because of everything that'd happened, now she wouldn't change anything.

Alex smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror, her cousin Amy and sisters with her. The boys were...well, somewhere else, hopefully getting ready. She blushed at the thought of Ryder and turned to look at her family. When there was a knock at the door, the twenty-year-old took a deep breath and squealed, looking at Amy in the eyes as her cousin opened the door. It was time. Alex grinned as she saw her dad, as he was trying not to cry. She tried to comfort him in some way. "It's going to be okay, dad. Thank you, for everything," she told him with a hug. Then, she began to walk with him. "Lead the way." Alex couldn't help but to feel nervous. She briefly wondered if Ryder felt the same way right now.

While Ryder hadn't actively fought against the arranged marriage he hadn't exactly been on board with it when he learned about the arrangement his family had made with the Mackintosh family. As it turned out Alex was everything he ever needed in a partner and he couldn't have found someone so perfect by himself, he was convinced of that. It may have been an arrangement that brought them together but it didn't change the fact that Ryder was marrying the woman he loved, someone he couldn't wait to share his life with.

Ryder stood at the altar waiting for the ceremony to begin and it wasn't long before he spotted Alex making her way up the aisle with her father. Once Alex joined him at the altar the ceremony seemed to go by in a flash and just like that they were married. Ryder squeezed Alex's hand and leaned in to kiss his her for the first time as his wife. "That wasn't so bad was it?" Ryder teased.

Amy was really excited. Today was her cousin‘s big day, and she couldn't wait to help with everything. Since her and Dan were the eldest after Alex, they had to help make sure that nothing would go wrong, and as she entered the changing room she could feel that it was going to be an amazing day for her cousin. She squealed as she saw her, and she took her hands in hers, sending her an encouraging smile once her father, Amy‘s uncle, knocked to tell them it was time. Amy took a deep breath, more for herself than for her cousin, and because she had invited someone she was very excited to see. She hadn't seen him yet though which frustrated her a little. She knew she'd have to be patient, and if she couldn't find him during the ceremony there was always after. It all happened in a matter of moments and soon Alex and her fiancé were married. Amy wondered whether Matthew had seen her yet or if he was waiting anxiously to see her like she was him. She kept smoothing her dress nervously, but without really having any reason to feel nervous. So far everything was going as planned and there was no need to worry, she kept reminding herself.

Matthew had been surprised when Amy invited him to go to her cousin's wedding with her but it would be fun to go to the event with her and her brother Dan. He had enjoyed getting to know the twins on his visits home and was glad to see that they both got on so well with his mother and his sister. Amy was off tending to her duties as a bridesmaid and Dan was further up the aisles as he was part of the bride's family which left Matthew to awkwardly mingle among the other guests until it was time to take his seat. The ceremony was beautiful but Matthew's attention was firmly on his date for the evening. It was strange to think that it was only just hitting him that Amy was no longer the kid he had met and had no grown into a beautiful young woman but he had never seen her in such an environment before and from where he was sitting she outshone the bride by a clear country mile.

Alex couldn't stop looking at Ryder as the ceremony progressed and before she knew it, they were married. Husband and wife. Wife and husband. They were terms Alex had to get used to now, and she giggled at Ryder‘s words, playfully rolling her eyes. "Of course not." Her eyes wandered over to the guests and she noticed someone looking at Amy in a way that told her she was one, missing something here and two, it seemed the guy was more than friends with her cousin. She chuckled, before she found her siblings. "Come, let‘s go greet my siblings!" she exclaimed as she pulled her fiancé - husband, behind her to where Sam and the others were. Of course, she had already seen them this morning and Sam and Sabrina even in the changing room but it was nice to see them again all together with their brothers and Ryder.
