Freya awoke to the sound of birds chirping and the cool pale sunlight streaming in through her window. She stretched her arms and rolled over to awaken Conor. To her dismay his side of the bed remained untouched. He had never come to bed last night.
Freya quickly washed and dressed. While she worried greatly about Conor she had other commitments she needed to attend to. Namely, her job. After teaching for several years at Hogwarts in New Zealand, Freya had left to come home and be with her family. During that time she had the honor of being present for the birth of her friend's third child. The beauty and miracle of that birth changed something in her and she had decided become a midwife. She now spent her days as apprentice to the local town's midwife.
While eating breakfast that morning, a strange owl flew into the great dinning room and landed atop a perch near the door. Freya took some sausage from plate and gave it to the tired looking bird as she removed note from it's claw. It was from Conor.
The note did not surprise Freya but it did sadden her. As far as she could remember, Conor had no family as his mother had died only just recently and he never spoke of anyone else. "He's merely running away." she mumbled to herself as she crumpled up the parchment and shoved it into her pocket, a dark mood drifting over her face.

Freya;
I have had to return to home to attend to some family business. I will return soon.
Love Conor.
