[adminapproval=11540613]Three months ago, Elt had thought she'd known all there was to know about the world and its magic. Life beyond the silver mine had been but a figment of her readily expanding imagination; humans did exist, somewhere, but they were dirty, untrustworthy beings whose discussion was strictly prohibited unless the word 'money' was heard in the same sentence; as a member of the female sex, it was Elt's role to be seen, but not heard, and only the former if her presence were contributing something useful to those around her; and there was absolutely, unequivocally, and indisputably nothing to be gained from attempting to argue against any of these points. How life had changed since a tawny owl had dropped her Hogwarts letter down the unlit chimney. She'd begged and pleaded and implored her mother to let her go, even at the tremendous risks it brought about. She simply had to see the world. It was big - much bigger than she'd ever anticipated - and made even more so by the fact she was so tiny. But with its vast and slightly intimidating size there came an abundance of new things to do and see and learn. It would have been cruel to keep her from it.

Two months later, and with as many of English lessons tucked under her belt, Elt was finally on her way to the train station. She wheeled her suitcase along behind her, suddenly feeling nervous. What would life be like away from home? Would the humans be her friends? How would she cope without a proper grasp on English? But these nerves could not quell her excitement, and as her mother said goodbye and she stepped onto the end carriage of the Hogwarts Express, she knew that whatever lay ahead was going to be better than what she was leaving behind. One of the first to board, Elt quickly found herself an empty compartment and slid closed the door behind her. There was no way she could reach the luggage rail, so she lay her suitcases between the seats under the window and used them to climb onto the seat. Whew. The part-goblin stuck out her lower lip and blew upwards, disturbing her dark brown bangs. Even though she sat alone for some time, nobody came to join her, which was probably because they hadn't yet ventered to the end of the train. She wiggled in her chair, only managing to find a comfortable position when the train shuddered and began to crawl out of the station. WHAT THE CRUP. She wasn't sure what she'd expected travelling by train to feel like, but it certainly hadn't been this. As it picked up speed, looking out of the wimdow made her feel so dizzy that she curled up on her side and covered her face with her arm. This was horrible!

Saveli had assured Monty at least a hundred times that she had everything that day. Perhaps it was because it was their first time really leaving for a school year that she had to do so. She wasn't sure if the professors traveled on train with them, but she knew that Monty had parted from her a minute or two ago - and she would find a seat without him. Perhaps he had left to find Ava - if she wasn't already at the school. The two of them seemed to be getting awfully close, and Saveli couldn't help but wonder what their relationship was. Though Monty actually dating was such a weird thought to the blonde - he was old after all. Didn't dating stop when someone started getting grey hair? Saveli tried to shake the disturbing idea from her head and made her way onto the train, searching through compartments.

Often the Slytherin enjoyed sitting by herself, but when someone arrived late to the train it was simpler to find the emptiest compartment instead. So when Saveli stumbled upon one with only one trunk in it, she took the compartment by storm. The blonde had begun putting her bags up when she noticed a child sitting in one of the seats. The kid couldn't be very old - wait. She eyed the brunette's ears and then the trunk. Saveli wondered if it was a student - either way it seemed pretty uncomfortable. Sav knelt in front of her and smiled. "Hey, you okay?" She asked, wondering if the girl was ill.

One of Elt's pointed ears was pressed into the fabric seat, and the other was covered by her arm, so she didn't realise anybody had entered until they were making sufficient noise by putting their bags on the luggage rail. She prised her arm cautiously from her face and squinted at the sideways figure kneeling before her, who, Elt was relieved to see, did not look anywhere near as unsettled by the movement of the train as she. Slowly, as not to augment the dizziness, she pushed herself back into an upright position and rubbed her eyes. Hey... you... okay... Elt knew those words. Unfortunately, she didn't know so well how to respond, and so pointed miserably to the window, making a motion with her hand to resemble everything whizzing past. Then the train compartment started to spin again, and she dived straight back into the seat and under her arm.

Saveli watched the tiny thing, looking at it's pointed ear with the most curiosity. A Goblin? She didn't know many of them - except maybe the one she'd hear Aluetta talk about. This was a really tiny one too. Unless it really was a child with pointed ear - as it didn't seem able to speak. Saveli looked between this person and the window for a moment. Then she made a small connection - she was covering her face. She didn't want to look out the window. Saveli could help that.

Sav stood and moved over, drawing the curtain shut and then turning around. Saveli then kindly poked her head out the window and flagged down someone with a trolley. When she was able to she bought a few waters and then turned back around shutting the door. [color=darkgreen-"Hey, here." [/color]She spoke softly, holding out the water to her. Saveli sat beside her while offering the water. "I'm Saveli." She introduce.

Elt remained hidden beneath her arm long after Saveli had closed the curtains. In fact, she only resurfaced when she was spoken to again, and was slightly perplexed at why everything was dimmed until she realised what the girl had done. Tentatively, she sat up again, looking blankly at the water bottle offered to her. Not only had she never seen one before, she had also never been offered anything by a stranger for nothing, and so started hurriedly digging in her pocket for some spare sickles her mother had given her. Holding these out, she took the strange bottle thing. "Thank you," she whispered, trying to figure out how the lid came off. After a moment, she realised she'd been meant to introduce herself back. "I'm Elt."

Saveli watched the girl rummage, and shortly realized she was looking for money. Saveli shook her head. "You can pay me back later." She spoke, with a smile. "Do you know how to open it?" She asked looking at her oddly, before reaching out and twisting on the lid to crack the thing open for her. Saveli then opened her own. "Nice to meet you. What year are you in?" She asked, having not caught on whether Elt spoke much English or not - truly unaware of the predicament. After all, most people who came and attended Hogwarts spoke at least enough English to get by on. Saveli then looked at the bag. "Do you want me to put that up for you?" She asked, being rather polite - a huge change since her first year evident in her personality.

Elt saw the head shake and slowly withdrew her hand, repocketing her sickles with a curious frown. If humans were so vile and untrustworthy, why was this one being so nice? The part-goblin eyed her water with a great suspicion that almost entered the comical. She startled when it was taken away from her, but it was soon returned again, this time without its lid. Sallyvi was saying something, but it was much too fast for Elt to keep up with, and she only knew half of the words as it was. She looked at the bottle, and at the kind girl, and back at the bottle again. This was going to be harder than she'd thought. Because she didn't know what to do with the bottle now that it was open, she merely whispered another thank you and tried not to look as completely overwhelmed as she felt.

Saveli watched Elt. She was interesting that was for sure. The blonde woman watched the way she eyed the bottle and didn't answer her question. Did she understand her? "Hey, watch." Saveli put the bottle to her lips and tilted it back and drank some. "See, it's good!" She offered a kind smile and waited to see if Elt would try hers. Save stood up and pointed at the bag. "You want that, up there?" She asked, pointing to where Sav's bag was.

Elt watched, mostly because she didn't have a great deal else to look at, and not very much to do with her knowing what the word 'watch' meant. As soon as the girl began drinking her own water, Elt realised it was very much like drinking from a cup, only the hole was much smaller and the outside see-through. She copied Sallyvi (she hadn't caught her name correctly), taking a swig and then smiling as she swallowed. Her eyes following the girl's finger, Elt quickly shook her head. She liked being able to access her bags at all times, without the assistance of anyone else. "No than-" Elt faltered. "No thank you." Screwing the lid back on her bottle, Elt stood up on the seat and padded over to the window. Her curiosity was insatiable, and now that she was beginning to get used to the motion of the train, she wanted another look outside. Lifting the velvety curtain, she peered out at the trees and the hills rushing by. It made her stomach flip. How were they moving so fast? Fixated, she pressed a hand up to the glass, as if she might be able to reach out and touch the concept of movement.

A small grunt came from the even smaller girl and Saveli was almost immediately taken aback. She didn't know much about goblins, or half creatures - but she'd never heard one do that. Was the girl alright? It was made clear that Elt was indeed okay when she spoke in English and Saveli nodded and smiled. It was intriguing to watch her padding over everywhere, with her tiny legs. Sav couldn't help but smile as she watched her look out the window fascinated. "So this is your first year?" She asked slowly, making sure to sound out some of the words, starting to think of the girl as slow. After all her accent was odd, but not in the way that Saveli's was odd for the country, more in the way that her cadence seemed off to be speaking English.

Elt watched the scenery flying by until an odd and unpleasant feeling came over her, at which she turned her head to look at Sallyvi. Thinking hard for a moment, she bit her lip, before suddenly exclaiming in an excited squeal, "HOGWARTS!" As soon as the sound had left her, she gasped. "Hog... Hog..." she tried again, managing nothing but her usual whisper. Oh well - if she'd spoken once, she would surely do it again some day! The unusual feeling distracted her again, and before she could think about it, she vomited. She wasn't used to excitement, or fancy restaurant food, or moving trains, and together it was all too much. Surprised and upset at what had just come out of her, she stared wide-eyed at Sallyvi, still holding the curtain with one hand.

Saveli jumped back visibly when she was shouted at. And she was laughing when everything went down hill. The woman couldn't believe the poor thing had thrown up, and placed a hand over her mouth. "My wand!" She whispered turning and grabbing it from her smallest bag - the purse atop her bag. She then pointed the wooden object at the floor. "Scourgify." She said, cleaning it from the floor. "You okay?" She asked with concern for the little thing. "Please, take some water." She pushed her own water bottle towards her, not having realized where the girls went.

Elt wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, at least feeling much better now. She wanted to be fascinated at how the kind girl had waved her wand and made the mess disappear, but she was suddenly exhausted. Her bed at home seemed a long way away already, and for a moment she found herself wondering if this had been such a good idea after all. She was a very small girl for such a big world. She nodded and took the water, sipping it and then hugging it into her, because she doubted Sally would want it back now. "I'm tired," she explained, her eyelids already drooping.

Saveli gave a half smile to the weird, tiny child. A blonde eyebrow quirked at her word and Saveli nodded. "Well, if you're sleepy you can rest. I'll keep watch okay!" She said before sitting on a seat and waiting for the petite thing to choose a place to sit. At least this year would be oddly interesting. She was sure Monty would enjoy a first year with such curiosity - and perhaps Elt would be nicer than Saveli was when she was first entering the school. At least, Saveli assumed that Elt was just entering, after all why else would she be so excited and spontaneously vomit like she did? Whatever that reason was, Saveli didn't mind - other than cleaning the vomit the kid was cute.

Elt didn't have a clue what Sally was saying, but she did think that her lap looked like a very comfortable place to sleep. Crossing the suitcases like a bridge, she made her way over to the girl and plonked down beside her, snuggling up instinctively. Hugs weren't a thing at home, but she'd seen two humans snuggling on a bench earlier that day, and figured that it was a perfectly acceptable part of their society. Wiggling a bit to get comfy, Elt closed her eyes, breathing in the girl's soothing warmth. She liked Sally. Sally was a nice human. With this thought in mind, she drifted off to sleep.

Saveli had expected the child to make a bed out of the rest of the seat, but instead the brunette crawled up next to her and cuddle close. Saveli's arms were in the air and she stared down at the girl, but for some reason couldn't interrupt her - Saveli only hoped that someone, anyone, would come along and possibly wake the child. Or at least give Saveli a distraction to the fact there was a stranger cuddling her.
