Matt grinned as he checked in the mirror one last time to see how presentable and neat he looked. He thought he looked good, but the person he had invited to the ball would be the judge of that. His face reddened a little at the thought of Elly but he tried not to be obvious about it, as he made his way to the great hall, finally searching for the Ravenclaw. He approached her once he found her and he couldn't stop smiling, man she looked beautiful. "Hey, wow, you look gorgeous," he said, before he winked at her.

Going alone to a dance was easier. You didn't have to color code your dress to the boy his suit. Elly smiled and picked her blue dress om the hanger. It did look nice and was definitely her style. It wasn't revealing, but it fitted nicely, it was perfect. Elly put on some nice perfume and was ready to go to the ball. Matt was nice enough to ask her and Elly couldn't say no. He was somewhat of a charmer and he had been really nice to her.

Elly walked to the Great Hall and spotted Matt. He looked nice in his suit and she smiled broadly. ''You look really nice yourself.'' Elly blushed slightly. He even smelled nice, Elly liked it when people smelled nice. It was one of her weird habits. Not that she went around smelling people, but people that didn't smell nice were hard for her. ''What do you want to do first, you can pick.'' Elly giggled, she wanted to make this evening on to remember.

Matt thought that he was lucky being able to attend the ball with Elizabeth, she was by far the most beautiful girl in the room in his opinion, no bias intended. When she smiled, the third year grinned at her. "Thank you," he said. "But I already knew that," he joked, only half meaning it - well actually, that was a lie. He knew he looked good, from the expression on Elly's face, but he didn't want to come across as too arrogant. He liked to be liked. "How about dancing?" he suggested, hoping she would agree with him.

Elly brushed a hand through her hair and smiled. Matt did look cute and he was somehow sweet enough to go with her. All of her friends seemed to have dates, not that she cared a lot anymore. They didn't seem to care about her either. Elly shrugged and looked at Matt, that was what she should focus about. When Matt said he already knew he looked great Elly had to smile only Matt seemed to get away with comments like that.. ''Cute'' Elly winked, she normally didn't like people like that, but Matt could get away with it. ''I am not the best of dancers, but if you can lead sure'' Elly was clumsy and couldn't even walk straight for long periods of time let alone dance. But she knew that if you had a good lead dancing was easier.
