Royel Santiago-Cruz sat at a table in the Student Lounge. Fabio had finally replied to his letter. The Ravenclaw was kind of regretting choosing Hogwarts New Zeland over Durmstrang. He was not used to having so many options. The boys used to have all his decisions made for him, but now, he had to make his own decisions. Royel was not used to it. He was not used to honking for himself like this. His family always controlled what he did. He came from a household where he had no say in a thing. Fabio often got punished for for speaking up, but Royel did not want to speak up. He was too much too scared to do such a thing. He would much rather be told what to do and live without scares. Royel sighed as he folded the letter back up. His brother was the same as usual. Vague. He never put any detail into his letters. He was always vague and quick. Royel was one for detail. He was not able to do anything with proper instruction.

He stuffed the folded letter into his robe pocket. He did not have any books with him, so h was in a predicament. It was rare to see Royel without a book. Normally, his nose was so far in a book you could not see his face, but not today. He was getting careless, and not he had bandages all over his hands because of paper cuts. He would be so sager to turn the page that he forgot how sharp they were. Royel sighed again. "You're so stupid." he muttered to himself.

Caroline really needed to study for the exams that she had coming up in the next week. It made her extremely nervous to be taking the exams so soon. She had already disappointed her parents in every other way since she got into Hogwarts. The main offense was that she was in the Gryffindor House instead of Slytherin. Caroline knew that she needed to get the best grades, all O's, if she wanted to go home for Christmas break. Otherwise, she might as well just stay at Hogwarts over the winter break. The blonde first year couldn't study in the common room. There weren't any free chairs. Plus, she preferred to study at a table where she could write. Her goal today was to create an outline for at least Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts. It seemed like a lot, but it was certainly plausible.

Figuring that the library would be packed with students studying for their exams, Caroline headed to the student lounge. She hadn't been there too frequently, but she knew they had tables. The blonde Gryffindor took her school bag and walked down to the lounge. It was mostly empty which would be good for studying. There was another first year, a Ravenclaw, sitting at the table. Caroline went to the seat opposite him. She didn't know his name. "Do you mind?" she asked politely, indicating the chair. She didn't want to bother him, but he seemed slightly irritated. Caroline though she had heard him talking right when she walked in, but it wasn't in English. She thought she recognized it as Spanish, but she couldn't be sure.
