Orsino Antolini had rather enjoyed his time in New Zealand so far. He'd never have thought that on his first day of arriving back in the country he would find a good place to live for an indeterminate amount of time. He was happy that his so called "landlord" didn't mind that he couldn't give her a proper estimate of time. His dates and times kept changing with the weather. The longer it rained, the more times he had to push back the researching. He needed dry ground and not over turned soil. Then after it had rained he had to wait at least a week, but it usually rained again before he was able to reach the allocated length of time, pushing his dates back even further. It was an annoyance that tended to aggravate Orsino, but on the up side, he'd had more sleep in the last two or so months then he'd ever had in three years of working with Dragons. It was quite nice actually, if only sleeping more didn't seem to make him doubly more tired. He really just couldn't win. He figured his best bet was just to stay with the lack of sleep. At least he was getting stuff done before.

Orsino yawned for what felt like the millionth time that day. He had practically done nothing for his entire five hours of being awake and it was now lunch time. Actually it was passed lunch, but Orsino hadn't eaten, mostly because he'd been too busy doing nothing. It was a strange feeling, doing nothing. Yet there was nothing to be done about it. He'd finished all that needed to be done with the paperwork, now he only had to wait for the ground to clear up before he went outside to take some samples. Mea had been crawling around on the floor all day, attempting to stand sometimes, but not quite succeeding. Orsino was helping Galaxy around the place when she let him, but she pretty much hd a method for everything, so that didnt work so well, considering Orsino had his own method as well. In the end they had both agreed that he should just stay out of her way and try not to get the house destroyed or anything. Mostly, he had just been entertaining Mea. She was a little cutie and he liked hanging out with her. Though he would never admit it to anyone. Orsino looked down as Mea whined for attention and he found that she was pulling on the cuff of his pant leg. Reaching down to lift her up, Orsino scooted forward so he was half hanging off the lounge and placed the tiny child on his stomach. That would keep her entertained for a while at least.

Galaxy, a woman whom had worked herself into the ground not too many days ago, was very happy to finally get a day off that didn't involve her having to do something. The only thing the young woman had to concentrate on was cleaning and her child, which Orsino had done a pretty good job on taking care of. Even though he couldn't help much with cleaning, keeping an eye on a now walking Mea was enough to help out. After all, the tiny tot had now been getting quick on her feet, and would sometimes walk right in front of wherever Galaxy was meaning to go. It worried the young mother to death. She was afraid she might step on, or knock over the child and hurt her. Galaxy turned her head, looking back at the scene that was unfurling. Orsino, whom didn't seem to know much about waht to do with children, had really warmed up to Mea. Honestly, seeing him with the child made her feel a bit warm. it made her think of what could have been, had Vincenzo not died.

With the water in the sink turned off, Galaxy heard a yawn coming from the man holding her daughter. She smiled and inquired, "would you like some coffee?" Without hearing his answer, Galaxy began to brew a pot, as she was sure she would have some later anyways. With the pot not started, she made her way into the living room to sit down for a little bit. Everything in the apartment was pretty much clean, other than the dusting above the cabinets that needed to be done. Galaxy wanted to get all of the hard cleaning done now, as Christmas was only a month away. If she got all the hard stuff done now, she'd only have to do light cleaning for the Holiday that was fast approaching. Galaxy did wonder what the landlord would do this year, though, as he always did something festive every year. Last year he put wreaths on the door and gave the whole building a discount on the rent for that month. it was a nice surprise, and Galaxy wouldn't mind him being that generous this year as well. Galaxy once more turned her thoughts to her child, whom was now making some noises. Some of them were almost, almost word-like. "Orsino, I think she might be trying to talk." Galaxy said, looking at her daughter and waiting eagerly. Galaxy watched as her daughter formed her first word.

Daddy.

Orsino was having a rather good time. He enjoyed Galaxy's company and Mea was definitely starting to grow on him. The fact that she was starting to walk was all rather exciting to him. He had no idea about those kind of milestone things that a child should and shouldn't be learning, but he had a feeling that walking was obviously good. She was starting to walk, so that was interesting in itself. Though Orsino knew nothing about babies in general, he was starting to learn things about Mea. Like the face she pulled before she started to cry or the noises she made when she was tired or hungry. He knew when she missed her mummy, or was sick of being inside. Orsino had heard that most parents picked up on this sort of stuff, but he was not the kids father. Nor would he want to be, he was far too young to be a parent. As was Galaxy in his opinion, but she had done such a wonderful job with Mea, as far as he could tell, he wasn't about to fault her for starting at an age he deemed too young. Besides, just because he thought she was too young, didn't mean that she or anyone else did. He was just raised differently to her, differently to most as far as he could tell. Well, he also had no interest in settling down either. He looked over at Galaxy when she asked if her wanted a coffee and nodded at her, hoping she had seen it, though he supposed answering her verbally would help more. "Coffee would be great!"

Orsino played with Mea for a while as she kept moving her mouth and making funny noises. He looked over at Galaxy as she mentioned that the strange noises and mouth movements might just be Mea trying to say something. Orsino grinned at the toddler and sat up, as she attempted to form words. he waited patiently for what she was going to say, only to have his eyes widen in shock as the words that tumbled from the tiny tots mouth addressed him. Orsino turned his head to where Galaxy was looking eager only a second before. Slowly, as if she was still trying to figure out what was said, her face began to change and Orsino looked back down at Mea, who seemed completely unphased by the atmosphere she had just created. She seemed quite sure of herself, not understanding the sudden coldness that had entered the room. Suddenly sitting up and pulling the child too him, Orsino could only think to give her a hug. It was not her fault. She had no idea about what had happened with her father. Orsino only knew because Galaxy had hallucinated and to be honest, he wasn't even sure of the entire story. He only knew certain things. He also didn't know how much of it Galaxy remembered, so he decided to remain quite and stood up to move over to where Galaxy was. Leaning over and offering Mea too her, Orsino sighed. "Are you okay?" He had never ever been in a situation quite like this before. What in the world was he supposed to do?

Much like Orsino, Galaxy had come to enjoy the living arangement. She knew that the first few weeks together were unorthodox (she still hadn't brought up waking up unclothed) but it was lovely having someone around. They didn't talk much, but most days Galaxy was cooking for him and then they would sit with Mea, quietly watch her pay or maybe discuss his job. Galaxy found the fact that he worked with dragons so fascinating, especially when at first he almost seemed frightened by children. While Mea could be a little bit rowdy, and recently ad become a little more fussy; she was no dragon.

Galaxy took in a happy breath, which led to a small sigh of content as she looked between her daughter and the man whom was helping her take care of her. Galaxy had grown a slight fondness for the strong Italian, whom not only had kept her safe during a storm, but had also watched over her when she was ill. It wasn't as if Galaxy was in love, she just began to think that living with him was the perfect choice. In a way, it almost completed her broken little family. However, Mea had chimed in just in time to remind Galaxy that the hole that had followed her from Italy to New Zealand, had yet to completely heal. Galaxy swallowed hard, and looked at Orsino, his blue orbs meeting er own brown ones. Galaxy took Mea, and with tears in her eyes managed her best smile. "Good job, I'm so proud of you." Galaxy knew that this was a big moment, regardless of what her daughter said.

Galaxy's eyes shifted to Orsino and she nodded. "I'll be okay." Now seemed like the proper time to fight the haze from when she was ill, and fill in the blanks that Orsino must have from the things she'd said. "I know i said some things when I was sick." She started her talk calmly, though she was still relatively upset. "And I want you to know the truth about how I got here, I think it's important that I'm completely honest with you, since there may still be a year ahead of us, or just weeks." Galaxy moved to sit on the couch, setting the rambunctious tot on her lap. "I don't remember everything that happened when i was sick, and I'm sorry, but the picture of Vinny got broken and I remember that." A few deep breaths separated her sentences. "Vinny died in a car crash, before I even knew that i was pregnant. I found out soon after, and was too afraid to tell anyone in my family. So I took all of my savings and came here." Looking at Mea Galaxy held her hand so that the young girl could attempt to stand, though Galaxy was mainly holding her up. "It was a rough time in our lives, and I miss him very much. Mea has no idea that you aren't her father though, so i can't blame her for calling you that. especially with everything you've done for us. Orsino, thank you." Galaxy's eyes were drying slightly, as she looked up at the blonde man and smiled. "I really hope you stay in touch when you leave."

Orsino let go of Mea immediately as Galaxy grabbed hold of her and backed himself away to return to the lounge. He knew that he was not at fault and he knew that Galaxy would never blame him for anything that Mea said or did, but that didn't change the fact that he felt all sorts of uncomfortable right now. He may have been living here for a while now and it was true that he and Galaxy were pretty comfortable together, but he still felt out of place. Their strange circumstances had brought them together and even stranger ones had helped him decide to stay, but all that seemed insignificant to the fact that Mea thought he was her father. Orsino didn't want her, he didn't need her, he wasn't her father, it wasn't his place. Mea had gone a whole year, or so without a father, she didn't need one now. Orsino sighed and fell back onto the lounge. This was indeed a strange predicament that he seemed to have gotten himself into. He didn't know how or why, just that it was there and he now had to deal with it. It wasn't that he didn't like Mea, she was a sweet kid, as far as kids went, he just didn't want a child, he was far too young. Orsino looked up when Galaxy spoke. She was proud of her little one, well that went without saying really. Of course she was. It was the kid's first words, they just happened to be directed at the wrong person, there wasn't anything necessarily wrong with that. Orsino simply watched the pair of them together. Their similarities were great indeed and it was entirely too obvious that they were mother and daughter. Orsino honestly counted his lucky stars that he was not the babies father, he would be entirely too jealous of the child right now.

Orsino sat up slightly when Galaxy decided to address him personally. She was done talking to her daughter and now it was his turn. He decided that speaking was not really necessary and instead gave the woman his full attention. He nodded where appropriate at what she was saying. He had been able to gather tiny fragments of information from what she had told him that night, but other then a vague over view of her situation, Orsino had nothing. As her story came to an end, Orsino had to fight the urge to reach out towards her, which resulted in slight twitching of her left hand, but other then that he did nothing. At least until he thought he was safely able to move his body without alerting her to what he truly felt. He didn't know if it was just lust or something deeper within that made him look at her in ways he probably shouldn't but he did. As he held out a tissue to her, for use in drying her eyes, Orsino thought that maybe it was time for him to get out of the house a little, go and make a couple of friends. He needed to get away from her and from his research or he was going to dry himself completely mental. "I don't plan to leave yet." It was all he could think of to say.

Silence.

That one word was something that Galaxy had feared all of her life. She was from a loud, Italian family. They shouted at each other to show love, they talked over dinner. When they were angry, or crying, or anything else, they would voice it. The silence was very deafening. She wanted anything other than her own sadness, and her own tears. She looked at the photos of her and Vinny. It was sad to think she'd never see him again, never be in love again. Maybe never even anything else with anyone. Regardless of the way they looked at her with big blue eyes. Or the way they held her when she was sick, undressed her when she was - what was Galaxy thinking. This was Orsino in her head, replacing the image of Vincenzo. She couldn't let him replace the memory of her lover, her best friend. A few more large tears fell from her eyes. Her russet browns looked away from the pages of the old album, and she shut it gingerly, as if she was afraid the pictures would turn to dust in an instance. It was hard to talk about Vinny's death, she didn't think she had since the funeral, right before she found out about the young angel, who was giggling at the mobile on her rocker, and grabbing at the shapes. Galaxy let out a sigh.

She reached over and accepted the tissue from Orsino, laughing dryly at her own thoughts. "You know, I usually don't release the crazy till I've officially got a friend to keep." She admitted, in a round about way voicing that she was afraid she'd scare Orsino off. She wanted him to stay around. Galaxy, like her young one, had grown attached to the blonde man. She was not sure if it was because he was kind, or if other emotions were involved. "You know, Orsino.. I uhm, can I hug you please, i just really need someone." She said finally, embarrassed by the way she felt. However, something deep in the young woman's gut, told her she wasn't the only one who felt the connection. From the first night, when they laid together during the storm, to shopping together, to now - there was something. And rather than be a brother and sisterly love, or something more, Galaxy needed it. She needed closeness to survive. Galaxy had spent so much time worrying about Mea, worrying about paying rent and getting a job, that she forgot what it was like to interact normally. What it was like to have someone to call family. She missed her home town, the little village; Vinny. Maybe, for a moment, she could try to forget though, just for a moment with Orsino.

Orsino was naturally a quiet person. He never really saw the point in saying anything more then what had to be said. This often meant that he did not engage people in idle chatter and it was infact others who initiated conversations. If he didn't have anything to say, then he saw no point in saying anything at all. Still, it seemed that no-one but himself felt comfortable in such circumstances. He wasn't sure why he preferred silence over noise, but he did and he felt comfortable in it. He wasn't sure why, or even if there was a specific reason, after all, it wasn't like he had grown up in a quiet household. Rosa and Clara were loud and it wasn't like Vin was particularly quiet either, though he wasn't as bad as the girls. Even still, it was not a quiet household. So, when Galaxy broke his happy silence and decided that she wanted to talk instead, Orsino almost jumped out of his skin. He shook his head when he realised what she said and made a point of looking right at her. "I am your friend." He reminded her. She'd just called herself crazy and whilst he was sure he should have addressed that small part, he wasn't entirely sure that she wasn't crazy. After all, she seemed to like him and she left him with her kid and she was living in an apartment in a bad neighbourhood on her own for who knew how long before he turned up. If that didn't scream crazy, he wasn't sure what would.

The request for a hug came so suddenly to Orsino, that he was almost not sure she had actually spoken the words. He immediately looked away from her then and sat back against the lounge, looking up at the ceiling, weighing the pros and cons. There were so many of them to consider. So many things he had to think about. It was just a hug she wanted, but was that it? Was that all she wanted? He knew that he felt something for her, something he had felt for many a women, but there was also something else, something that went deeper then the surface lust he was sure any man would feel for the woman. She had a child, that was something he needed to think about. She was damaged, and why shouldn't she be after the apparent hell she had endured losing her love. Orsino hated to think that he would be the only man she ever loved, but what was he to do about all of this. There were so many reasons why something shouldn't happen between them and yet there was something forcing him to need to be near her, to touch her at every opportunity. But he'd been good! He'd tried so hard! He was a good boy, he didn't think about her that way! Not all the time, he usually repressed it, it was his healthiest option. Sighing and closing his eyes, Orsino nodded to himself. It was just a hug, one hug, that couldn't possibly cause the Earth to implode, right? Opening his eyes again and rocking himself forward, Orsino slid onto the floor and moved to kneel beside Galaxy's chair where he immediately pulled her hard to him. She may have only needed a hug to calm herself down. He needed one to hide his face.

Orsino's eyes didn't meet Galaxy's at first. She was worried she had honestly asked for way too much from the larger blonde. She only wanted comfort, but did her tone suggest more. She would never put Orsino in that position on purpose, not like this. She already knew he'd done so much for her, maybe one more request was just putting his mind over the edge. He was a tire man after all. Galaxy smiled and gave a slight laugh, and nodded at him. "Thank you." She whispered, tearing at the tissue, and letting the little pieces fall to the hardwood floor. Some blew across the living room, almost looking like snow, or dust in the wind. Her heart thumped in her chest and she felt she might pass out, from the emotional strain she felt. Him moving nearly made the thumping hurt. She almost thought he was going to leave. It was that moment that Galaxy knew she'd gotten too dangerously close to him, since him leaving nearly killed her emotionally - and it was only a thought!

Orsino, as always, took her by surprise though. Galaxy felt him in front of her, and her brown eyes met his blue one's for only a brief moment. She couldn't read the emotions in his seemingly clouded eyes. She only knew in that moment that he was not leaving. The warmth of his large arms was comfortable, and Galaxy's own thin ones moved around his neck. The force of being pulled to him pulled her straight off her seat, and onto him. She had knees on either side of him, though they barely touched the floor. Her red hair was spread in messy waves, and his shirt quickly became stained by the tears she hadn't dried. Galaxy allowed the tissue to crumple from her hands, left to be cleaned up later. She couldn't believe he'd hugged her, but now that he was hugging her, she didn't want anyone else. She didn't want any other person to even comfort her but him, and Galaxy didn't understand why. She hadn't felt this comfortable since being with Vinny. She pulled her head off his shoulder, and pulled herself back, now realizing what that deep seated feeling was. She cared for this man. She didn't know the extent to which she did, but it was as more than a friend. Galax'y dark orbs searched his blue one's, and with a shaky voice she called questioningly to him "Orsino?" She asked, questioing everything from the hug, to why he had really stuck around so long. Was it because of work, or did he care for her as well?

Orsino looked at the many paths he had taken in his life to get where he was today. In all those cross roads, he had to wonder, did he pick the road that lead to hell? That was what he felt like. There was nothing he could do to make this situation any better from what he could see. The pressure on his torso was barely even registering in his mind right now, because he would much rather believe that it was Mea sitting on him right now, then Galaxy, because he had things he needed to do and Galaxy was not one of them. With his hands in the air now and firmly away from any part of Galaxy that could be problematic, Orsino proceeded to slide himself backwards to lean against the lounge. Now that he was not lying down, the situation did not appear so dire. At least, not for the moment, though if he opened his eyes, he was sure to have a multitude of problems. Slowly, Orsino tried to extricate himself from beneath Galaxy, but found that doing so would require him to touch her, and so he finally made the decision to not move her, but perhaps to help her figure it out for herself. His name in her voice caused him all sorts of pain and he shook his head slowly. "Galaxy. Mea." Maybe if she focussed on her child, it would not lead to anything he feared. Not that he didn't want Galaxy, he did, but he was afraid of how much. What if he didn't want her afterwards. Could he do that to her, to himself? Could they still live together if everything turned out to be a horrible mistake? He didn't think he could and so he would do his darndest to ensure that nothing happened.

Making the decision to open his eyes, because it really had to be done at some point, Orsino put his arms at his sides and slowly peeped out from under his lids. The sight that greeted him, made him rethink everything he had ever thought about any woman ever. "poop. Galaxy. You're beautiful." Merlin be damned, this was not fair. He looked over to where the oblivious spawn of Satan sat in her jumper and Orsino wished she would just look over towards them, maybe it would be enough for him to calm himself down and rethink his predicament. However, she failed to do so and regretfully, Orsino turned back towards Galaxy, all the emotions he had been masking behind that hug, touching the surface clear enough for Galaxy to see. Lust, need, hope, desire, hunger. All the emotions he had been feeling since the day he'd walked into this apartment. He kept telling himself that he couldn't complete his research yet, he still had things to do, was this the thing? Had he completed his research weeks ago but been unable to pull himself away from the allure that was Galaxy? He had to wonder, as he reached out his hand to touch her face, only to lose his nerve at the last second and snake his hand back to his side and turn his head away. "No, 's'not right." His hormones be damned, he was not taking Galaxy today.

<FONT font="monaco">Galaxy was unaware of the man's racing thoughts, which was convenient as she had thoughts of her own. Her chest pressed against his, she could feel his heart beat, thumping rhythmically, just out of time with hers. Her breathing went between erratic and steady as she tried to search for the words to say. She was lost, her lips trembling. Her eyes were drying, different emotions taking control. At Orsino's word she looked at the child, who seemed to be drifting in the motorized walker, still clutching one of the mobiles, and occasionally coming to to bat it around. She was silent, and drew no more than the brief glance. Perhaps Mea understood on an emotional level what it was that was happening. There was no way she could - so it had to be the fates that brought the two into this position, and maybe it was truly for the best. The red-velvet waves covered parts of Galaxy's arms, and in the way that she sat, it even covered some of her exposed midriff. She felt chilled, goosebumps popping up on her skin as she sat. She couldn't tell if it was the chilly breeze that seemed to to attack her from no where. Whether it was a window open, or just chills from the moment, Galaxy didn't care. She wanted the moment to last for a lifetime.

Galaxy looked over every part of his face, his jaw line and his hair. His muscular arms holder her. His words brought a faint blush to her cheeks, the color being emphasized by the red coloring in her locks. Galaxy looked away for a moment, gathering her thoughts. "You are." She paused. A thousand words races through her mind. The brief touch to her face taking control of her emotions. Galaxy was well away of what she wanted at this point; she want Orsino. She placed one of her own frail and shaking hands on his face. His light amount of facial hair tickled her palm, but she did not worry of it, she enjoyed the feeling. Her mind settled on one description word for Orsino. "Perfect." She said, ignoring his rebuttals of how this wasn't right. His eyes told her there was something more that he wanted, just the same as she. Boldy, Galaxy leaned into him and after a brief pause, pressed her red lips against his own chapped ones. For a moment she forgot everything she knew, every light and sound in the room was gone. Brown eyes fluttered shut, and her hand gripped his face gently. It wasn't until a few seconds later that she gained awareness of what she was doing. Galaxy pulled away quickly. "I'm sorry." She said, her eyes filled with worry that she had ruined the entire situation. Lexy almost felt ill, and attempted to move from the increasingly awkward situation.

Orsino was many, many things, but perfect was not one of them. He was everything he wished he wasn't and more. Yet, Galaxy, she was just everything, and more. She was the sun in the dark, the water over the rocks, the colour on the petals, the green grass in the ragged bushland. She was the beauty one saw in all things... and she was completely and totally off limits. There were things that Orsino had done that did not in any way earn him a title such as that, with a prize such as this. He shook his head again and was about to try and push her away when he suddenly realised that she was leaning in to kiss him. He leaned back as far as he could, but in the end, his body took the hint and there was no stopping it. He pressed his lips to hers just as hard as he had hugged her and by this point even if she tried to get away, it was likely that she would have been unsuccessful. Whilst her kiss was gentle, his was anything but. All his pent up frustration had come to a head and he would do anything to relieve it. However, soon he felt that she'd had enough, realised the mistake at the same moment he had. Clearing his throat slightly, Orsino immediately scrambled to his feet and helped her up as well. Dusting himself off, he looked at Galaxy fiercely. "Mistakes happen." Whether he was talking to himself or to her he was not aware, he only knew that he now needed to get out of her presence and back to his room before he did anything else to jeopardise what they had. Fixing his shirt rather modestly and turning on his heel, Orsino practically ran to his room and shut the door behind him, leaning against it and sliding to the ground. He'd done many idiotic things in his life, but that surely took the cake.

Orsino opened his eyes and looked around the lounge room. He must have nodded of slightly. He smiled at the memory of Galaxy and shook his head. Things had been awkward between them after that. Orsino had made it a point to not be in the same room with her if he could help it. His frustration levels were growing rapidly and he had simply thrown himself into his work to try and rectify it. Not that it had done much. Mostly his work just got sloppy, because he couldn't concentrate. Even though that encounter had been weeks ago, anytime Orsino closed his eyes, the memory popped into his head as if it were yesterday. The rate things were going, Orsino was going to explode, so he'd had to resort to other measures in order to keep himself preoccupied. Unfortunately those methods didn't always come cheap and he was forced to hand in subpar work just to get paid, but he didn't mind too much, if it got his mind off of the petite red head he was living with, then so be it. Looking over at Mea as he cleaned up the lounge room a little, Orsino wondered would could possibly be running through the tiny tots little head. She alway seemed to be one step ahead of him during nap time and he could't remember the last time he'd escaped her delightfully well aimed spoon full of food. She had amazing aim and dexterity for an inferior human. Then, Orsino was used to dealing with dragons, not this little devil spawns of Satan. Obviously this child was put on this Earth to torture him. He'd never been worried about a woman's feelings before, but since the day he arrived in this apartment complex, the only thing he worried about was Mea's safety. If he f*cked things up with Galaxy, what would happen to her?

Galaxy was at a loss now. She had done nothing but think of the kiss that she and her roommate shared. Orsino's lips pressed harshly against a hers. It was a though that she couldn't resist thinking. However, he'd said it was a mistake, hadn't he? Galaxy wanted to believe he felt that way, but the way he acted around her told her otherwise. His running away could have meant anything from fear to disgust, and the later brought pain to her chest and made her aware of just how unlikely it was that it was the former. After all, she was damaged goods. She was a mother with the baggage of a dead lover, Galaxy had a long list of issues starting with abandonment to wreck less behavior in response to pain. However, weeks had gone by now, maybe more, and Galaxy had done nothing but think of this so called mistake like it was a Merlin sent blessing. She's prayed, asked for advice from friends - leaving out Orsino's name in case things didn't work out - and had come to a conclusion. She did not regret the kiss, she did not regret that he'd decided to stay, and she did not regret every tension filled moment spent with him. Galaxy did regret letting the tension go on for so long. Any time she was in close quarters with him it was so obvious that it was painful, that they both felt the same exact tension. The tension had to be released one way or another, whether it be through them talking it out and deciding friendship was best, to other less kind methods, it had to be done. Galaxy approached her door, going over what she was going to say one last time before entering.

Galaxy did not utter a word at first. Instead she removed her long, red coat, revealing the same red dress she's worn the night she fell ill. It was a favorite among the customers after all. She then approached the lounge room where Orsino was cleaning. She grabbed her daughter without a word and cleaned her up - well what little was left from her foodcapades with Orsino. "Here you go, little beanie baby." She said, taking her down the hall to lay her down in the crib in her room. She then came back out. "Orsino, I know you've been avoiding me. Please just listen this time though." Galaxy stood in the hallway, watching him carefully, blocking a way to his room. "I understand of you don't feel the same way, but all I can think about is the... Kiss." She finally addressed the proverbial elephant in the room. "Orsino, I care about you, I haven't felt this strongly for another human since the accident. If you don't want me you don't have to have me as more than a friend. But if you want more than that, I'm giving you a chance. Mea only stays asleep for an hour, so make your choice." Galaxy's face was more than red, she was out of breath and had a rapid heart rate. She hoped the dress at least eyes things in her favor, and Orsino's room was open for them if he chose. Honestly, if he said no, she had no idea what she was going to do.

Orsino heard the door to the apartment too late. Usually if he was focusing, he would hear Galaxy coming up the stairs and be able to suck into his room before she got too close to him. However, today unfortunately, Orsino had been preoccupied with other things and so he had not heard her enter the room until it was far too late to leave. She'd walked in, removed Mea and returned all before Orsino had even blinked. He'd not noticed she was so fast before. When had she become so fast? Shaking his head, Orsino made to step around her, but was stopped in his tracks by the fact that she was somehow entirely blocking his exit. How was she doing that?! Orsino had no idea what was about to happen, but he somehow had the feeling that he was not going to like it. Everything he had been doing to try and avoid this very situation seemed to have come back to bite him in the ass, because he was now, apparently, face to face with an extremely ready mother. There were three things he could do in this situation. Firstly, he could shove everything to hell and just do it. Because honestly, at this moment there was nothing else on his mind, Mea was the furthest thing from it. Secondly, she was wearing that little red dress from that night she's had a fever. It looked lovely on her and definitely hugged all the right places, she knew what she was doing and so he knew that she was trying to coax him into action. He could just end it all right now and tell her everything nasty he could think of, that would effectively end any possible relationship they would ever have and he'd probably have to leave, or, he could just tell her that he was uninterested in sex and that he didn't want her. Only that would probably be the biggest most unbelievable lie in his life and he'd rather die then allow that.

These were the options laid out before him and he could only pick one. There were so many variables in this that he had to consider. It wasn't just him anymore. It wasn't just her. Mea was involved in this too, as much as he hates that. If he did this, he wasn't just taking on her, her was taking on her baggage as well. Including the tiny tot. For what seemed like the millionth time that day, Orsino closes his eyes and prayed to whatever gods existed to give him sense. However he still felt that compulsion to be near her. Opening his eyes, Orsino faced Galaxy and shook his head. "I am going to burn in hell for this." Dropping everything he had in his arms, Orsino stepped forward and grabbed Galaxy under the legs and swung her up into his arms. She wanted this as much as he had, that was quite clear. Though her sudden boldness had spun him right round, Orsino had recovered eventually and now he was going to make the most of it. "An hour? Plenty of time." Orsino quickly proceeded to dump Galaxy on the bed and give her one final chance to bow out. "You're absolutely sure about this?" If they were going to do this then by the gods they were doing it the right way. Climbing onto the bed and kneeling next to her, Orsino waited patiently for her answer.

Galaxy was thankful for her stealthiness on coming in. Her heels on the stairs were normally a dead give away, but she'd gotten wise to his avoiding abilities, and begun to change her shoes, that way her arrival was mostly silent. It seemed to have paid off, and Galaxy felt relief. She would just have to remember to remove her heels from her purse once this whole mess was over. Once again Silence fell over Orsino and Galaxy, the petite red head now crossing her arms over her chest. Shifting weight from one leg to the other, it was obvious that she became more uncomfortable by the second. She needed an answer, she needed to know if she was making a fool of herself. Over the months she had been living with Orsino she should have been use to the silence, she should have known that he was a man of few words. Why did she expect anything less? Galaxy did though, she expected a whole speal about how a terrible mother she was, and how sleeping around years after Vinny's death still wasn't waiting long enough. She expected him to feed her back all of the things that she had been concerning herself with, and tell her how she was very wrong to even offer something as intimate as she was. Then, something surprising happened - something surprising and very wonderful. Orsino budged.

His eyes closed as they had that night when he held her close, like she were fragile. And maybe she was. His breathing was audible, the house was silent save for the tap that seemed to permanently drip in the cold weather. Raising a dyed brow, Galaxy watched him carefully. She did not expect him to approach her, and was no where near braced for his swift move of picking her up. "Wha - " She let out a rather lout cry followed by a giggle, shocked and yet impressed. It was as if he took notes straight from the romance novels she read. Arms flew to his neck, wrapping around the tree-trunk muscles for stability. "Little easier than wrangling a dragon." She joked, referring to his ability to just scoop her up into his arms. Not that Galaxy was large, she was small like all of the women in her family. She allowed him to take her down the hall and all but throw her onto the bed. She watched him, listening to him, thinking it through one last time. "Orsino, I have never been more sure of anything in my life." She replied. Between the instability of her neighborhood, her jobs, her health, and her travels; Orsino became a stability that she craved, one that rooted her to the ground and reminded her every day why she kept Mea, and kept going. Leaning up Galaxy placed another kiss on Orsino's lips, and made the choice to close one last chapter in her life.

END!
Galaxy and Orsino decided that their night was not a loss, and the tension felt in the household was lifted. For now the couple was going to be able to rest easy, knowing they made the right decision to take a chance on some ad in some newspaper, and a chance on a stranger in a run down apartment.
