Galaxy was more than in a bad mood. It was cold out, she missed the bus after work, and her umbrella was sitting in the stand. The young red head was not only furious about the terrible weather, she was furious about what her coworkers had to say, when she finally told them who this mystery hero was. Orsino was in the biggest trouble he could possibly be in. Galaxy had only wanted to be happy for herself, but by the time the third waitress she worked with said she'd slept with him as well and never gotten a call back, Galaxy was sick. She spent twenty minutes of her shift crying in the bathroom, sickened almost by the fact that Orsino hadn't mentioned that to her now that they were, well, whatever they were. She'd become intimate with him, and he knew she was a waitress, shouldn't he have covered his ground so that this exact situation didn't happen? What was worse, was that Galaxy wondered how recent the last one was, was he seeing other women behind her back. True they hadn't verbally made it official, but they were not exactly just friends either. At least, Galaxy hoped that wasn't what he saw her for. The young mother was not that kind of person, and nor would she ever be. No matter if his blue eyes begged her with tears. She wanted real intimacy or she was gone.

The door to the apartment slammed open, and a very wet, upset Galaxy came rushing into the apartment, shouting at Orsino from the other room. Many different profanities left her lips, her Italian flowing off more naturally than her English could. "Figlio di una cagna!" She shouted, finding him quickly. Her mascara had long been running down her face, and was nearly wiped off. "Puttana!" She yelled out, though name calling wasn't making her feel even the slightest bit better. Finally Galaxy turned away from him and took in a deep breath, calming herself enough to speak in a language he may actually understand. "How many of my co-workers have you slept with? Cause right now it's up to Angie, Rayne, and Launa. Are there others while you were living here?" She was more hurt than anything, however, her hurt came out like anger - it was that way with everyone in her family. She crossed her arms over her chest, her coat dripping onto the floor. She didn't even care, she would take care of it later. She tapped her foot, teeth gritted behind closed lips, waiting for an answer.

Orsino was in a good place. He'd gotten he majority of his research done and he was close to finishing it off and sending it back to Romania. He was very happy with the way things were at the moment and he was glad that he made that decision to stay all those months ago. He'd been considering leaving for a time. Obviously he had been distracted enough that he couldn't get his work done appropriately. Get rid of the distraction and his work was done in record time. Honestly though he thought very highly of Galaxy. He wasn't sure where it was going and he wasn't sure he was ready to call it love, but there was definitely something there. She was a beautiful woman, eager to please and extremely enticing. Orsino had to admit that he didn't deserve her at all. She deserved so much better and yet she had consented to be with him. He was very happy and extremely lucky. There was little that would be able to make him think otherwise. Standing up to get off the lounge where he had been napping for the last couple of minutes, Orsino looked over to where Mea was and was about to go and make sure she was still happy when he heard the most peculiar of sounds. Heavy footsteps were making their way up the stairs. It seemed that Galaxy had a bad day. Orsino frowned. It was certainly not like her to let him know so easily that she'd had a bad day. More often then not she would hide it. He would have to wheedle it out of her. Deciding that Galaxy may be in a yelling mood, though he didn't know why, he immediately scooped Mea into his arms. Maybe if mumma bear saw her baby she would calm down.

The sight that greeted him as the door flew open however, was not at all how he imagined it to be. Galaxy was shouting at him in italian, phrases passed so quickly by her lips that he wasn't able to catch them. He wasn't fluent in italian at all. He could only pick up a couple of phrases here and there, but he'd never really sat down to learn or anything. Orsino frowned when she suddenly turned away from him and it was then that he suddenly understood everything. Those stupid wh*res had obviously neglected to tell her, in all their need to corrupt his relationship, that he'd not even approached them once whilst he was with her. Orsino turned around and put Mea back in her jumper and thought about how to approach this subject. He'd not really thought that he would need to discuss this. It really wasn't any of her business what he did before they were together. It's not like he asked her about everyone she'd slept with. Not that he actually thought she was that kind of person. It was just a point. He decided that maybe the truth was not something she needed to hear. "There have been none recently." Whilst that was strictly true, he had slept with a girl the night before they'd gotten together themselves. There were also a string of others before that. Not that she needed to know, because it really was none of her business. "What have they said?" He really hoped it wasn't too bad. He didn't want to lose Galaxy. They'd just gotten started. He'd been a good boy. She'd forced his hand. They'd made that step together. She made the first move! Why was it fair to punish him for this? Hell, he didn't know what to think anymore.

It was unfortunate that Orsino's grasp on Mea had done nothing but avoided a slap she was likely to serve him at one point or another. Her shoulders shook visibly, she was upset enough to nearly begin crying again. Galaxy was not normally this angry, not even close. She never really told Orsino when she'd had a bad day, and that's why she'd kept it from him that she may not have her waitressing job for long as it was. The petite red head began pacing a little bit, back and fourth to keep herself from throwing punches. Galaxy was not normally a fighter - at least not of people. When she had first gotten with Vinny there were instances of violence against stuffed animals and walls, and the occasional slap if he called her a name. Galaxy couldn't understand what was hurting her the most, and that was the most difficult thing at all. She scoffed at Orsino's words. "Recently, what do you consider recently? After our kiss or before it?" Brown orbs narrowed at him, and Galaxy continued to pace slightly, choosing her next words as carefully as she could. Occasionally she would say the word idiot in Italian, though she wasn't sure whom she was insulting. Maybe herself, for letting herself get attached to Orsino, and maybe Orsino for not leaving her sooner like everyone else did.

Finally she stood still, facing him with arms crossed over her chest, her brain processing thoughts so rapidly she had no idea which ones to think out loud. "They told me all about how you're a no call no show afterward. You take from them and then leave. Is that what I am to you too, Orsino?" The truth came out little by little, her voice wavering from angry to a different emotion; fear. Galaxy didn't want Orsino to leave, she needed him. She'd finally gotten attached to someone; someone that seemed to care about both her and her young daughter. Galaxy glanced at Mea and then back at him. She needed to chose what was best for her daughter, and if Orsino was not that, they she supposed she would just have to come to terms with it. Her arms dropped to her side, and she turned toward the kitchen. She needed something to do with her hands. She began running water in the sink, and filled it with soap and water, silent for some time. She placed dishes in their gingerly, holding back the tears as much as she could. "I don't want to be a girl that you see for a weekend, or a month, and then leave." She said finally, removing her coat which dripped on the floor still. "Angie said you... hook up with her every time you're in town, and then leave without a trace." She commented again, trying to find the words to explain herself. "I am not just me, Orsino, I am me plus Mea. And when we made this decision, you picked both of us." Turning, she leaned against the counter, seemingly done with her speech, allowing Orsino a chance to talk.

Orsino stood as close to Galaxy as he could, without getting close enough for her to hit him. He also didn't want to frighten her off. However, he didn't really understand why she was getting so defensive. He'd made it quite clear how he felt about her hadn't he? He'd warned her that this was a bad idea, so he would have expected that she would have known enough to come to her own conclusions on such matters. He frowned slightly when she narrowed her eyes at him and rolled his eyes. He was rather annoyed that she would just stomp around and demand things from him. Like she had all right to his life or something. Orsino folded his arms. He intended to make it known that he wasn't happy. "Recently as in after our kiss." Still that meant nothing. He'd told her that the kiss was a bad idea. He didn't want to go there. She'd forced the issue later on, after he'd told her, but he hadn't seen any of those girls after that. He was with Galaxy now. He wasn't a manwhore. He was a one woman guy. He was just so rarely with only one woman, that it seemed like he wasn't. But if he committed, he did so wholeheartedly. Orsino also didn't like the fact that she kept calling him an idiot. He may not have known much italian, but it was obvious what idiota meant. Orsino sighed and rubbed his eyes with his hand. He had a feeling this was going to be a very long day.

Finally, Orsino looked up again as he heard that he pacing had stopped. He really had no idea what to expect, because he'd never been in this situation before. Women were so much trouble. If he got through this alive, he was swearing off relationships all together. They were far too much work. Not if he was going to go through this every single time. Orsino just stared at Galaxy as she spoke, he honestly had no idea what to say. She was honestly taking their word over his? They'd not slept together for the first time only yesterday! It was weeks ago! He was obviously still around, so what the hell was she even talking about? Orsino was about to call her out when she suddenly turned away from him and headed into the kitchen. He made to grab her, but she had moved too fast. What was he expecting? She probably wanted nothing to do with him now. She wasn't even willing to hear his side of the story it seemed. Sighing, Orsino waited for a moment to see what she was doing. She was washing the dishes, as far as he could tell. He wanted to go over there and make everything right, but this had to work two ways. She had to realise that he wasn't always in a relationship. Most often he was single because woman rarely held his interest for more then a couple of days. Often they were just dumb girls with more money then brains who thought he'd be good for a lay. They were right, but that wasn't the point. He'd never felt anything particularly special for them, not like he did for Galaxy. He cared greatly for her and for Mea. He didn't want to leave them. She wasn't giving him many options though. As he was about to turn to leave, Galaxy spoke again. This time, Orsino listened, his hand massaging the headache he was gaining. So Angie was the blabber mouth then? Well he certainly wouldn't be seeing her again, that was for damn sure. Obviously she was being a jealous b!tch. Galaxy finished what she was doing and leaned against the counter. For a while, Orsino just let the silence surround, he now had to decide if Galaxy was worth all the hassle he was going to face.

Yes, she is. Orsino looked up and took a couple of steps forward so that he was now inside the kitchen, but not close enough to be perceived as a threat. He struggled to keep his voice calm as he spoke, but his anger at her words had hit him right in the heart. "Galaxy, " he started, straightening himself. "F*ck you." He looked her in the eye and glared. "First of all, how dare you come barging in here, scaring the poop out of your daughter like you did just then." He looked back at Mea, who really wasn't phased by all of this, but she could have been and that was the point. This was no atmosphere for a child to be in. "Second. How dare you assume the worst of me based purely off of the completely ridiculous reports of your supposed friends." Most of them were true, but they made out like he'd been sleeping with them just yesterday! Orsino moved closer to Galaxy, this time trapping her between himself and the counter. "Thirdly, f*ck Angie. I've seen her maybe four, five times max. She hasn't a clue when I'm in or out of town and I haven't seen her at all, since I've been in this building." Orsino voice grew lower now. "Lastly, you can't just go assuming the worst of everyone you meet because someone tells you something about someone that they did months ago. I know what being with you entails and I am still here. I know you have Mea, I know you and her are a packaged deal. But guess what Galaxy? I'm still here." Orsino sighed and pushed himself away from her. "But honestly, if you're going to question everything from my past, I best leave now, because you probably won't like what you find." That had to be the most words he had ever spoken to one person, ever.

Galaxy thought back to the first time she met Orsino. She wasn't sure why it was, but the memory stuck in her brain. She remembered her anxiousness upon opening the door. She hadn't expected to let anyone into her life the way that she had let Orsino in, and their first meeting was proof of that. The only reason she'd even let this big, stupid, handsome man live with her was because she couldn't afford the apartment. She knew her temporary job was running up in a few months. She had to be prepared. Her mind raced through the memories, her chest tightening. Her arms remained across it as she tried her best to keep composure. However, it was obvious that she was holding on by a thread. The loss of composure started with a limp trembling at the thought that the first thing he did was entertain her daughter. He made it known he wasn't a threat. She swallowed hard remembering the way he'd jumped at the opportunity to shop with her after she'd fallen ill. And then a few tears dripped down her cheeks as he finally spoke to her. Of course it would be after the kiss - he'd said it was a mistake. Perhaps that was what Galaxy feared most, was Orsino deciding their whole relationship was a mistake. She wasn't sure if that was something she could handle.

Galaxy's heart finally stopped thudding in her chest for a moment, but only a moment. She took in a deep breath to try and calm herself down. It was obvious that it didn't work though. Within a few seconds her heart was back to thudding in the lower part of her throat. She felt lightheaded. His pacing had stopped, but pounding in her head had begun. Though she cried there were no movements, she stood stone still wit arms still crossed. She didn't even sob. She knew that it did no good to become overly dramatic at things like this. The tears were enough to let him know that she was upset - possibly more than he was. She was sure she was upset in a different way than he was. His next words made it obvious that he was angry, not hurt. Galaxy supposed that was a good thing. She didn't want to hurt him, she just wanted to defend himself. He was close enough that if she reached out to touch him she could. She did not though, she was stubborn. Besides, reaching out would only make things harder. So she stood, and listened, sinking into a hole more and more as he spoke harshly to her. Finally he was done, finishing with a statement about leaving. The young woman's eyes didn't stop watering once, and her breathing became shakier and shakier. She looked at the floor for a moment, thinking to herself on her next words. She didn't even care that he could smell his cologne anymore. She had grown so used to the smell from the time they'd spent together.

"You don't have to leave." Galaxy said in a monotone voice. Though her eyes still leaked there was no sadness in them. Instead they seemed distant, as if they were empty. Usually her brown orbs were angry or upset, or happy and bouncing around the room as she took care of her daughter. Not right now, she had no capacity for any emotion other than apathy right now. She moved around him to cross the room. She bent down to look at her purse, and finally pulled out a small slip from it. "I got this notice a week ago and was wondering how to tell you." She held the paper in her hand. It was a two-weeks-to-go slip in her mind, that's what she'd been calling it. It wasn't because she'd done anything wrong, the woman she had been covering for was coming back. "I thought it'd be better if i just didn't. I got in contact with my father for the first time in almost two years a few nights ago" Her voice wavered, her eyes still staring at the paper, which she set down next to him. She then reached for the cupboard to find the lease that was up above the toaster. "I've decided to sign the lease over to you. i saved up enough to keep you living here with no extra cost for another month or two, but the rest is on you." She swallowed thickly, her eyes meeting his blue for only a second before she turned to move her daughter into her arms. "I was going to wait another week to leave, but if i call my father he'll make sure I can get home sooner. I'm sorry for wasting your time. i just hope you've gotten enough for the research you were doing. I'll leave in the morning." With that, the petite red head made a slow walk to her room, waiting until the door was shut and her daughter was laid in her crib, to break down into a mess of tears.

Orsino wasn't sure what to think now. He was angry and he was upset and he was hurt beyond all reason. He knew that she wasn't really in her right mind and that he was probably irrational right now too, but that did not excuse the way she was acting or the way that she was treating him. He shook his head and stared at her as she told him that he didn't have to worry about leaving. He was glad. He didn't want to leave her. He really liked her and he'd grown attached to the little munchkin of hers. However his hope was short lived, as she was not yet finished it seemed. His eyes grew wider as she produced the slip she had apparently been keeping from him and he stepped forward and snatched it from her. It did indeed say that she had only one more week of work. What had she been planning on doing? Leaving without saying anything? Orsino didn't know whether to be angry or annoyed. Perhaps a mixture of both. He couldn't believe she was actually being this person. He thought she was different. This kind of emotional vampire behaviour was something that he could not stand. Orsino crumbled the paper in his hand and shoved his into his pocket. She was going to leave him this place. So that he could live here in the f*cked up memory of a relationship they might have had. Orsino shook his head and thrust his hands into the air. "Are you f*cking kidding me right now?" Orsino couldn't believe this. Galaxy was different to all those others, at least he thought she was. Did she had any right to make him feel this way? He'd warned her many times that a relationship would be difficult. He wasn't exactly ready to settle down, but he had been more then happy to work it out with her. "Fine, f*ck you, Galaxy. I don't need this poop in my life." Orsino knew she was crying, but he was on the verge of it himself. She left him standing in the kitchen and Orsino stayed, his head in his hands as he ran through the scenario in his head. Could he have said something differently, made her stay somehow? He shook his head. Probably not, because they were both angry. Maybe in the morning they would have calmed down and it would all be better. Orsino cleaned up and set everything straight before ending the day in his own room.</SIZE></COLOR></FONT>

Orsino woke up early in the morning. He was intending to surprise Galaxy with breakfast in bed. Well, maybe breakfast anyway, in bed or out of it he didn't much care. Orsino entered the kitchen and went about making her favourite breakfast. A ham and egg casserole. Orsino wasn't the best cook, but he could do the basics. Unfortunately, a ham and egg casserole wasn't exactly basic and so he had to really put some effort into it. Still, he was sure that Galaxy would at least appreciate the effort. Coming to the end of his work, Orsino finally made some coffee and set it all out nicely, to make sure that it all looked nice. He smiled to himself. He thought it looked pretty good if he did say so himself. Picking it up and carrying it down the hall, Orsino knocked on Galaxy's bedroom door. They'd been sharing a bed for the past weeks and so he had felt weird about sleeping alone last night. In fact he'd not really slept at all. So he supposed that maybe that had a lot to do with his dishevelled appearance. Clearing his throat he knocked again. "Galaxy... are you awake?" He slowly pushed the door open and looked inside, but he couldn't see neither hide nor hair of Galaxy, or even Mea. He frowned and walked over to the bed. It was made, like someone hadn't slept in it, but he knew he'd seen Galaxy in this room, she'd walked in here last night. Looking around the room, Orsino realised how long it had been since he had been back in here. This was usually where Mea slept, with Galaxy staying in his room. He didn't have a lot of reason to be in here, especially lately. However it wasn't the small things that took his eye. The small changes she'd slowly been making. The thing that caught his eye was that old picture frame he'd broken what seemed like years ago now. Except now the frame was mostly fixed and held a picture of him. Him and Galaxy. Orsino moved to pick up the frame, to look at it, but it was then that something else caught his eye. There was something folded on the pillow and as Orsino approached a sinking feeling entered his stomach. Licking his lips slightly, Orsino looked at the letter. It was addressed to him. Silently he read over it, the words tearing at his resolve little by little. He tried to keep his composure but he was failing miserably. He knew what he had to do. Dropping the breakfast to the floor with a crash, Orsino tore out of the room and out the door. He was only wearing his jeans, but he no longer cared.

Orsino, my protector,
I am so sorry for what i did to you. I was angry and so were you. The worst part of writing this letter is that I kno that by the time you're reading this, I'll be gone. I didn't mean to leave, i didn't want to leave, but you were right. I need to remember that I have Mea, I need to care for her. I can't do it properly if I'm constantly letting myself down, and not letting myself heal. I never gave myself the chance to become whole I suppose, blaming myself for Vinny dying. And then i met you and it was just as if, slowly i was healing. I wish I had told you that yesterday instead of getting mad. But you don't need me, I'm damaged, I'll make your life and your work difficult. I am just glad Mea won't remember you. Because you were are amazing, and you will be a great father someday. Someone wlll come along who deserves someone as kind and wonderful as you are.

I really hope, that wherever you are after this, that you will forgive me. I'm sorry that I never told you how i felt. I was afraid. Orsino I love you. Goodbye.

Love,
Galaxy.

Galaxy had long since left her apartment. Her child was bundled up in a little cradle as she exited the Taxi. She had run out of tears an hour ago she was sure. She checked her watched, Orsino would be up by now. She wondered if he had read the letter, if he forgave her. Her chest thumped in pain, and though she felt like she wanted to cry, the tears just wouldn't come. She had a wait for her plain, and looked over the magazines and postcards, and went through the gift shop. She walked down each isle carefully, looking over some of the little knick-knacks they had. She hadn't been looking for long when she found something that caught her eyes. Her brown orbs shifted from side to side, and she walked forward toward the little, stuffed bear on the shelf. She wondered why she felt this kind of loathing for herself. Her child was still sleeping, and she looked down at Mea. She had to remember that she was doing this for her young one. She reached out and touched the fur of the bear, then her fingers moved gently over the lettering. It was something meant for someone going away, it seemed. 'Come Home Soon' it said in gold lettering. She took a breath and snatched it from the shelf. She walked to the counter and paid for the bear before putting it into the carrier with Mea, who curled around it right away. Her eyes felt like they were burning. "Last call for flight 287." She heard the announcer call. That was her flight. She had to leave now. She made her way from the gift shop, not turning back. If she looked back she may never leave - and she knew her heart couldn't take it.

Had Orsino known where the airport was, he would have apparated there. However as he had no clue where it was, having never been there himself, he knew that his only option was to catch a taxi or something. Orsino didn't know much about muggle transportation, nor their currency. He could only hope that the money he'd found would be enough. Muggle studies had not been taught in Durmstrang, or he is sure he would have gone, but seeing as the school was predominantly anti-muggle, it made sense that they wouldn't teach a muggle course about muggles in a school that didn't even allow for muggle-borns. Still he had mostly enjoyed his years there and it had been at that school that he had first developed his love of Dragons. Becoming a Dragonologist had been his goal and now that he had reached it, he thought that his life was complete. But he was wrong. There had been something else that he was into. Something else that he was looking for. Someone to share all of this with. He'd found that person in Galaxy and now he'd lost her. He was such an idiot. Yesterday they'd both been angry, they'd both said some things that they didn't mean, but he knew now Galaxy felt about him. He knew the truth of her revelations last night. He supposed he was partially to blame, he had gone off and done some questionable things behind her back, but he'd never done them whilst they were together officially. Still, he supposed if he looked at it from her point of view, then he had really been a complete jerk. Ten fold. Now however, his mind was on the task at hand. He'd found out from the airport which plane the silly woman had booked and was on his way to catch her. He couldn't let her leave without at least apologising. She had to know how he felt!

Orsino jumped out of the taxi and payed the man before it had even come to a complete stop. A number of people had shouted at him to slow down and stop being stupid. That he was careless. But he could care less. He needed to stop Galaxy. Jumping the turn-stiles and running past the docking bays, Orsino made his way to the front desk. The lady behind the counter looked at him strangely with a frown on her face. Orsino growled slightly. "Please, I need to know. Where is flight 287 heading?" If he knew that the perhaps he would have some way of persuading her to stay, to show her that he paid attention, that he cared about her and the little tyke. Orsino shook his head again when the woman looked at him with a frown. "Do you speak english?" Orsino asked, his tone rather hostile. The woman seemed to take offence to this and decided to ignore him. Orsino banged his hand on the counter and the woman jumped. "Look, okay, i'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled. But please, I need you to tell me where flight 287 is heading." Finally the woman relented and pulled up whatever she needed to look at, but the items on the screen seemed to make her hesitate. She looked at him carefully and turned the screen to face him. "I'm so sorry, Sir. Flight 287 just took off." Orsino blinked. He'd missed her flight. He was too late.</SIZE>
