Being back in New Zealand was not something that Orsino Antolini had planned on. In fact he had really surprised himself when he had offered himself up in place of the guy that had been supposed to go. He'd gotten sick and so his research was going to be delayed if none of the others went. Orsino had decided that it could be a nice break from his intense work and had come to the conclusion that he should offer himself. The very first thing he needed to do whilst he was in New Zealand, before anything else, was to find somewhere to stay for an indefinite amount of time. He honestly had no idea how long this research was going to take and so he needed to take that into account. Did he want to live alone? In an apartment or a house? Did he want house mates? Could he afford to live with someone else? Did he need to be able to get along with that person? All of these questions were important to Orsino, because he needed to be able to focus on his research with no hassle. As a Dragonologist, he often kept strange hours, so that was something else that needed to be thought about. However, currently, he was not to be studying dragons as such, but more the reason for why they were not abundantly found in New Zealand like they were in Romania and other such places. You didn't find them freely around here and he wasn't even sure if one ever could, which was basically the whole reason for this research, it was all very important and rather exciting.

Walking around and asking people, it had eventually come to Orsino's attention, that someone not far from his current location had an ad out for a roommate. Orsino quickly noted down the address, thankful that he actually might have somewhere to stay tonight that wasn't a hotel. It was nearly five and if he couldn't find somewhere in the next hour, he may just have to rough it, thank goodness he has all the necessary supplies to do so. Coming up on the neighbourhood, Orsino kept his eyes peeled. It didn't exactly look like the safest place; it was quite shady really. He had to wonder after the kind of person that might want to live in a place like this. Whilst he was confident of being able to protect himself against one or maybe even two people, an entire neighbourhood would likely kill him. Still, it was a roof over his head, if he could negotiate for for the right terms and such. Turning a corner and stopping for a moment, Orsino allowed his eyes to wonder over the building he needed. It was kind of rundown and rather intimidating. Could magic not fix something like this? Surely that would make perfect sense? Orsino was not an expert in such magics, mainly because his focus was on dragons and their care, but this looked kind of unsafe. Breathing deeply, Orsino stepped up into the building in the search for the apartment he wanted. As it turned out it was on the second floor.

Pausing in front of it, Orsino tilted his head. It didn't look spell damaged, so there were no evil and horrid people behind the door, at least, he hoped not. Orsino couldn't very well protect himself against something like that, maybe Rosa or Clara, but definitely not himself. After all, he would die for his sisters. Slowly Orsino knocked on the door and waited patiently. After a short time, he was about to knock again, only to nearly knock on the skull of the person who lived there. A girl? Well, a young woman with vibrant red hair, but still, why would she want to live here. Orsino pulled the ad out of his pocket and showed it to the girl. "I'm here to see about the room?"

"Peek-a-boo!" Galaxy exclaimed, coming out from behind the bedroom door for the third time. Her young daughter giggled again, smiling up at her mother with glee. Galaxy knew she could never stop loving that smile, no matter what. The young mother picked up her child, moving her to a changing table, knowing it was time to start their morning routine. After Mea was change Galaxy moved to the kitchen with her, her yellow sundress fluttering in the breeze that came through their windows. She had just finished feeding her, and held her once more. It was Galaxy's mistake to not grab a burp rag, as the familiar feeling washed over her shoulder and her dress. "Mea, you stinker!" Galaxy sat the baby in one of her chairs that allowed her to bounce, and started her morning over again.

After getting out of her second shower of the day, Galaxy decided that it would be best to throw her red locks into a hair tie. This time the red-haired girl donned a blue dress, which was sleeveless. She grabbed a burp rag from the diaper bag, and then went back downstairs to hold her daughter, something Galaxy made sure to do often through the day. She had just picked Mea up, when a knock came on the door. Galaxy hadn't been expecting guests, and it was relatively early in the day to be anyone from the mail to drop off any packages. Galaxy put her daughter back into her chair and smiled. "Mommy is gonna be right back." She then gave the small child a raspberry on her cheek and made her way to the front door, tossing the clean burp rag off to the side.

Galaxy hadn't expected to see a large man standing at the door when she opened it, and admittedly felt a bit anxious now. Nevertheless, the short statured woman smiled up at him. "Benvenuto! Welcome!" She greeted, her voice oozing the cheeriness of her personality. Her Italian accent was not as thick as it used to be when she spoke, and she had admittedly gotten a bit quieter with her speech. She looked at the add the man had in his hand and grinned wide again. "Please, come in, we can talk all about it. Would you like something to drink?" She asked, leading the man in, hoping that having a toddler wouldn't frighten him off.

Orsino wasn't sure what he had expected to see in this place. Whatever he had been expecting, a young woman on her own, was not one of them. Orsino knew that he was tall. Taller then average definitely and he was also quite aware of his build, his sisters often described him as a bear, or bearlike at least, so seeing this young woman who couldn't be much different to his own age, was both alarming and surprising. She had also greeted him in Italian, or Spanish, though he was sure it was italian. Unfortunately he had little experience actually speaking the language, spite the fact he was, himself, italian. Stepping around the woman as she invited him into her home, again something that slightly alarmed Orsino, as he could really have been anyone, he looked around the room and his eyes fell onto the woman's small child. He assumed it was hers, though he supposed she could just be babysitting, though that didn't seem very likely at all. Orsino tilted his head slightly at her mention of a beverage. He supposed he could stand to have something to drink, port keys tended to make him a little dry of mouth and usually he had something to drink afterwards, but he had been busy at this time, so he'd not really thought about it as much.

Eventually, Orsino nodded at the woman, as he was not much of a talker and proceeded to place his bag softly beside the door. He was unsure exactly where to put it, but he also didn't want to be carrying it around either, so the door was the next best place really. Realising he had not told her what he wanted, Orsino thought about it for a minute before eventually settling on his usual choice. "I could actually go for a coffee, if you don't mind." Orsino was used to hospitality sure, but he didn't quite know what to think of this woman, nor the fact that she had a child. Carefully, aware that the mothers eyes would be on him the whole time, Orsino pulled a small dragon figurine which had moveable parts. It was much too big for the child to swallow, so he hoped it would be okay, but either way, he held it up for the mother's inspection. He was intending to give it to the child, but if she said no, then he supposed he'd just put it away again.

Galaxy could almost feel the surprise in the man, as he looked at her and at the apartment. it wasn't something she knew right off hand, but his silence said that he was thinking. She wondered if he wouldn't want a female roommate, after all, the last two who were interested dropped the apartment upon finding out Galaxy was a woman, and a respectable one at that. Others had ran out the door the minute they saw Mea, not wanting to live with a baby. Mea was a good child though, and now slept through the night when put to bed. She only really cried when she was hungry or wet; or if she got scared or hurt. Not hearing any words from the man, Galaxy continued with a smile. "My name is Galaxy Sith, this little cutie is my daughter, Mea." Galaxy moved to pick up the child, so that they could all be close to the same level. Mea wasn't frightened by the tall man, and that much was obvious.

Galaxy smiled at him when he said he could use a coffee, and se moved swiftly, Mea securely on her hip, to the coffee pot, where she had just brewed a pot before the fiasco in the morning. Her dress was ruffed again by the breeze, and she actually thought she might shut the window. "Would you like your coffee black?" She asked, pouring him a cup, and grabbing a cup of water for herself, before noticing that he was holding something. She looked at it and smiled, realizing it was a little toy, something Mea could play with. "Mea, look, it's a dragon!" Galaxy exclaimed, smiling. Mea, entranced by the colors, or course reached out for it. "Can she play with it?" Galaxy asked, sure that those were his intentions, but not wanting to impose if he just happened to want to show it to her.

The small apartment wasn't to bad considering everything and Orsino had to admit that the young woman had done well. As it turned out her name was Galaxy, a weird name to be sure, not something he had ever heard before, but he kind of liked it, it was definitely unique, much like the person before him. Orsino watched on as the woman picked up the child and confirmed that it was her daughter. The child's name was Mea, something Orsino was again not overtly used too. He nodded slightly and gave his own name, "Orsino" before glancing at the dragon bracelet on Galaxy's wrist. He was a little surprised that she would like dragons and he was even more surprised that she just happened to be wearing one on her wrist, today of all days, it was the biggest of coincidences and considering Orsino didn't tend to believe in coincidences, this was a rather big one. Orsino's dark eyes lingered on the bracelet for perhaps a few seconds too long and Orsino eventually moved his eyes to a more suitable height, namely the hair of his possible house mate. It was extremely vibrant, it couldn't be natural, though he wasn't sure about that either. He did like it however, not really knowing her, he was no expert, but he felt like maybe it suited her.

Orsino watched the baby Mea as Galaxy headed to what he assumed was the kitchen, before turning back to ask him how he liked his coffee. He nodded at her asking if he wanted it black, because he liked it strong, he was almost always sleep deprived, today was in fact one of his more alert days, but he actually lived on black coffee, it kept him awake. Finally, Galaxy noticed that he was holding out the dragon to Mea and she asked if Mea could play with it. Trying not to seem like a surly brute all the time, Orsino smiled slightly, something he so rarely did and nodded, moving the wings in a flapping motion to show the baby how it worked before waving his hand over it so that it basically moved by itself, flapping around the room and landing on the babies shoulder. Orsino had never really had the chance to show off for someone before, but this had been a nice experience. Either way the baby seemed enchanted by it and that was enough for Orsino. He walked over to them and stepped past Galaxy to grab his coffee, hoping she didn't mind his slight invasion of her personal space before stepping back out of the kitchen. He hoped she didn't mind that he didn't speak much.

Galaxy watched the man, whom had told her his name was Orsino, look around the apartment. It was a nice place, small kitchen, but it had a fridge, a microwave, and other necessities. There was a table, four chairs, and of course plenty of cupboard space. It was large compared to her old house in Italy, which housed her whole family, plus her grandparents. It was a two bedroom place, and had a nice living area, which housed a TV, books, a couch, and a reclining chair. Then of course some toys here and there, a baby swing, things a mother should have. Galaxy's smile never left her face, as she glanced over the man, struck mostly by his large appearance. She also noticed his long hair, which looked well kept. He was nice to look at, she thought, though immediately wanted to slap herself. After all, nice to look at didn't mean nice to live with.

Galaxy then looked at Mea, who was cooing at the toy that moved slightly, before coming to life. Galaxy was impressed, and slightly shocked. It was as if the man had known that Mea loved dragons, well really anything that flew. The little girl even loved flies, and would often coo and cry to try and catch them while in Galaxy's arms. Then, the dragon landed on the young one's shoulders, and she began to cry. The dragon immediately left, obvious taken aback by it. "Oh no, beanie baby, please don't cry." Galaxy rocked her, but the moment the dragon was back at Orsino's side, she stopped crying. And again began cooing for the thing. Galaxy laughed and set her down in her jumper, allowing Orsino to invade her space and grab his coffee. He smelled nice, and that was something Galaxy could appreciate.

"So, I figure i should probably give you a tour." She said with a smile, her blue dress swaying as she moved. She began to show Orsino around, including what room would be his, which had a bed and dresser already in it, as well as a closet with a sliding door. Once she had finished showing him around, she offered him a refill. "Do you have any questions currently?" She asked, sitting down and placing her hands on her knees.

Orsino cringed when he had made the baby cry but was glad that it hadn't been for long. He didn't particularly like the sound of babies crying, but that was mainly because it was his own fault. He had that affect on babies apparently, though it seemed that this one was the fault of his dragon, and not actually of him, so when Galaxy put the kid back in the bouncy thing, he walked over, passed his hand over the dragon so that it would stop moving and placed the dragon in front of her. If she wanted it to move again, she was out of her mind, because he was not making it move again. She'd probably just cry about it anyway. Though maybe if the baby was determined she could get it to move herself, it wasn't hard. Tiniest bit of magic really. The term galaxy had used for the baby was strange admittedly, but Orsino rather liked it. It was similar to a term he was called as a baby, Fuzzy bear or silly bear. Two names that his mother seemed to rather like to call him. He also vaguely remembered that Rosa was often called Snuggle Bug or Sweetiepie. He couldn't remember what Clara was called, though that wasn't surprising.

Taking a sip of his coffee, Orsino nodded as Galaxy offered a tour and followed her around the house. He'd seen the kitchen, which was decent, but he wasn't worried to much about it because he would be spending very little time in the kitchen, seeing as on, he used magic for basically everything and two, he basically lived on coffee, so cooking wasn't much of an option for him. He wasn't even sure if he could cook. Sure he could do things for himself, but did that count? Probably not. He had also already seen the living room seeing as he had been standing there for the past five minutes or so of his time in this apartment, so he wasn't worried about that either, he would be spending little time there too. His research required him to either be out a lot, or he would be in his own space doing what needed doing, so she would see very little of him unless he decided to join her for a meal on occasion, which he probably would if she was cooking. He'd not had a proper home cooked meal in a while and he would really be able to appreciate one, especially if it was really good.

Eventually they came to what she told him was his bedroom, or would be if they agreed on all of this. He liked the look of it. It was rather ornate and warm, something not he wasn't used too sleeping rough a lot, but he could definitely grow to like it that was for sure. Following Galaxy back to the living room and accepting a refill of his coffee, Orsino joined her on the opposite side of the lounge and looked around once again before setting his eyes back on the occupant. She was attractive, he'd noticed that the moment he walked in, so he was a little apprehensive about how she would be with having a strange man in her home, though she seemed to be okay with him at the moment. She asked if he had any questions and he had to think for a second before asking, "I keep odd hours, with my work, is that going to be a problem for you?" His voice was a little gruff, but he was attempting to be as friendly as was possible for him, seeing as he wasn't usually a talkative, happy person.

Galaxy really couldn't tell if Orsino cringed at Mea because he was not used to the baby crying, or if he was used to this happening. After all, he was large and probably very intimidating for a smaller human. After all, if Galaxy was to meet him in a dark ally, she would be a little afraid. Standing at just over 5'2" and being 120 lbs, she wouldn't stand a chance against im. Somehow, Galaxy just didn't mind at this point. He didn't come across as being someone who would attack her, only someone who might bite her head off if he was woken up. The dark bags were evident to her, and the way he drank his coffee only proved to her more that he lacked sleep.

Galaxy could remember when she was like that, toward the end of her pregnancy, and the first few months of having Mea. It was hard to get on a sleep schedule with a crying baby. Regardless, now Galaxy had become adjusted, and slowly her dark bags were fading. It also helped with magic, which was the best cover up. Galaxy was always worried about her flaws, and so often times, she did wear makeup. It was never too heavy, it was only enough to cover what she saw as flaws. It was the same reason she dyed her hair the color she did. Galaxy had to snap out of those thoughts though, as the tour neared the end.

'I showed him the bedroom, the bathroom was right down the hall. I didn't show him my bedroom right? No, I didn't. Did I pick up my clothing, yeah, I think I did. I really need to... no wait, i already showed him everything. ' The stress in her head was organized the only way she could understand it, by asking herself questions mentally, and answering them as well. Of course, not all her thoughts were just on showing him the apartment, they were also on his blue eyes, which were quiet nice to look at, especially with the natural lighting from outside. Galaxy smoothed her dress out a little, and nodded at him. "Orsino, i have a young child, waking up at all odd hours for noises is normal." she then laughed a little bit, trying to lighten the mood. "Any other questions. I'm looking to rent as soon as possible, so if you decided to i could honestly have you in by tonight. Shoot, I'm making diner tonight." She stood, what time was it? "Oh, i mean, if you'd like to eat with me too, we could. I just remembered tonight is my once a week home cooked meal night. Most other nights i just have sandwhiches." She let out a nervous chuckle, wondering if she was talking to much.

Orsino sipped his coffee as he thought about what the young woman had said. He supposed it made sense that she would be used to odd hours, seeing as she had a baby, he actually hadn't thought of that, but then why would he? He'd never had a baby, nor did he know anyone with a baby, Galaxy was the first person he knew, obviously aside from his own family, but none of them had young children anyway. He sipped his coffee again, still, he supposed being around a baby wasn't such a bad thing, seeing as he kept such odd hours anyway. He would likely be awake most of the time and any time he slept, the baby would be kept quiet by her mother, at least he supposed that was what would happen, considering everything. Orsino nodded at Galaxy, to show his understanding of what she had said. She seemed to be all set on having him move in right away, but Orsino still wasn't sure, maybe he should give it a trial period. If it turned out they wouldn't work, he could find somewhere else to stay, though that could take a while as he disliked hotels. They never made his coffee right. "Yes, uh, the baby. Of course."

As she was offering him dinner however, Orsino really found himself interested. He had not had a home cooked meal in such a time and he'd not had a decent meal at all in the last couple of days. He'd basically been living on stews cooked in a pan for the better part of a year and so having someone actually cook something for him would be, well, amazing. However, Orsino was a little cautious, after all, he didn't know the way this woman cooked, or even if he would like her cooking. So he sipped his coffee again as he thought about what to say. Eventually, however, he decided that even a badly cooked meal was better then bland stew, in any universe. So, with only a minor change of his features, Orsino placed his now empty coffee cup on the table and nodded at the woman. He stood up and ran a hand through his hair. "Sure, i guess i could go for some dinner." He looked around and located his bag where he had left it, he had some work in there he could finish later and enough money for an advanced payment if that was what she would prefer. "We can talk business after or during dinner." His only real questions now, were the specifics of payment and of course whether or not it would be okay to run a trial period.

Galaxy hadn't thought much about her outburst, until she realized that it didn't seem intelligent. Galaxy wasn't the most intelligent woman, after all, she still had some growing up to do. It was obvious that she was still young, and wanted to stay that way. With a daughter at home, though, she had to change and be responsible. She couldn't remember the last time she'd gone out to have fun; mainly because she didn't always enjoy the kinds of crowds that were out at the bars. Many men were willing to follow girls, and it was a horror story that Galaxy didn't want to be a part of. She didn't think she could handle the stress of a stalker, especially since she was most likely going to be living alone.

Orsino's deep voice brought the young red-head from her thoughts, and she realized she was still just standing in the middle of her living area. She looked back at him and nodded. "Children can be a blessing when they sleep through the night, though. Which she does mostly." Galaxy then took a few steps over to the kitchen. It was a small apartment, really, but clearing things out and moving the furniture around opened it up and gave it the appearance of being spacious. "I'm making Cannellini and Pancetta soup, with french bread on the side. Along with some homemade baby food for my little one." Galaxy looked back at him. "So that sound alright?" Once she'd gotten confirmation, Galaxy began cooking.

It wasn't long before the meal was in it's final stages, and Galaxy was flitting about the kitchen, giving Mea some of her bottle, as she was weaning her off of the formula and onto soft foods now. It was a blessing that the baby held the bottle on her own. When the food was ready, Mea was put in her high chair, and Galaxy started to set the table, the same way her mother did. All the while she explained the dish to Orsino, as it was a traditional Italian dish she'd learned to make at home. When everything was set, she invited Orsino to grab himself a plate. She had served herself some small portions, knowing that the rest of the soup would be frozen to be reheated at a later date. Mea was the first to be fed, and as Galaxy's food cooled, she spooned some of the crushed baby food into her daughter's waiting mouth. "So, what else would you like to know? I mean, pricing is obvious a big deal. But that's only 275 from each of us a month." She commented, continuing to feed her daughter before touching her food.

There were so many reasons why Orsino should be turning and leaving, so many reasons, yet, for the life of him, Orsino just couldn't bring himself to actually leave. He liked the place, so there were no problems there and he knew that he would at least be able to live with Galaxy, at least on first impressions anyway. She was a sweet person, definitely the kind of person that Orsino usually pushed away with his gruff manner, yet, Galaxy, didn't seem to mind, or even remotely care. All Orsino could really see was that she was willing to have him living in her apartment with his own room. The fact that the baby slept through the night was definitely a plus, though it hadn't really been something he had been particularly worried about, it at least meant that he would be choosing to sleep during the night, if it ever came to that. Most of the time he usually just slept whenever and where ever, but he likely couldn't do that here, for a number of different reasons. Still, the woman was offering him food, there was no way he was going to turn that down. Any self-respecting man would delight at the thought of a proper home cooked meal, especially Orsino, who despite growing up in New Zealand, still loved his food, which likely came from his Italian heritage. The stigma that all italians loved to eat, was really not all that off.

Orsino followed Galaxy to the kitchen with his eyes. She was so little compared to him. It had actually occurred to him earlier that had he been some kind of dark force, she would not have stood even half a chance. Thank Merlin for small mercies there. She mentioned the food she was making, it was something italian that he was sure he had heard his mother make once or twice, or perhaps many more times then that, but Orsino preferred to eat the food, rather then pay attention to what it was. "Uh, yeah... sounds great." Orsino merely waited in the living room as he heard the food being made. Every now and then he would look over at the little one, Mea and pull faces at her, which she seemed to enjoy to some degree. He hadn't really ever been good with kids, not having much experience with them, but he supposed it couldn't be any harder then wrangling a dragon. Though the scars and burns he'd amassed over the short time in the profession surely told a different story. Not that Orsino minded his 'war wounds', he rather liked them in fact and often thought they made him look tougher and added depth of character, or whatever that meant. Either way, he had learned many dragons ago, that sometimes it was best just to go with the flow. If that meant that he should learn how to entertain this woman's child, then so be it. If it meant that he should turn tail and run, then he would only be obliged to do so.

Once Orsino was invited to serve himself, he hesitated slightly. She had gone to all the trouble of preparing the both of them some food, plus the extra for her tiny-tot and now he was going to be eating her out of house and home. That wasn't very hospitable at all. However, he was ever so hungry. Shrugging to himself, Orsino resolved to the idea that he would just put in double the amount for food and heaped himself a rather large portion of soup that probably dwarfed the young woman's. He then placed a few pieces of french bread onto the corner of his plate, placed the bowl of soup in the middle and made his way over to where Galaxy was with the little tyke. "Well, 275 sounds more then reasonable, i would also like to add that i will be adding double or more for the food." Orsino started with the soup and waited for a moment before continuing. This soup was delicious though and so for a moment, Orsino forgot what he was going to say, "this soup is delicious by the way, thank you." However it didn't take him long to remember again. "Oh, right, I'll be straight with you, i like this place, however i am slightly concerned about... let's just say... whether or not we would get along comfortably." He told her, continuing with his food for a moment, "I would like to suggest... a trial of sorts. Would that be amenable to you?"

Galaxy was a very focused person when it came to cooking for herself Coming from a large Italian family, she was used to home cooked meals. Many days she missed those meals, and wondered what her mother was cooking for dinner. She brushed some more of her red hair back and felt another warm breeze. It smelled like there was rain in the air, Galaxy only hoped their weren't any storms in the forecast. She hadn't checked at all that day, because she had been pretty busy. She thought it would be rude to turn on the TV while she had a guest over. She looked over her shoulder at the clock. It was close to 5 now, and her guest was still there. It really did look promising.

Mea had begun refusing the spoon a bit, and her plate was nearly empty, so Galaxy felt it was time she should eat some of her soup. The food was cooling, and with it being relatively cool in the apartment, if honestly was almost cold. Galaxy didn't mind though, she would give up everything to make sure her daughter was taken care of before she was. Taking a bite of the soup, Galaxy gave a soft, close lipped smile to the man across from her. His eyes were a stunning blue in the pale light of her kitchen area. With his eyes on the food, Galaxy got a chance to get a good look at his face. He was really pretty in her opinion, his hair was kept back and his shirt was without many wrinkles. He seemed like a man who took care of himself. Galaxy wondered what he was thinking of her, or her cooking for that matter. She didn't wonder long, though, as he mentioned that the food was good. The compliment was proceeded by something that had taken a moment to sink in, though, and Galaxy shook her head. "Food is usually on me, so don't worry. I mean, I always make too much anyways, considering it's always just me and Mea. And she can't eat many solid foods yet." Then she wondered if he said it for his pride. "But, if you insist or want something specific, I won't fully object." She didn't want to wound his pride, if that was why he said what he did.

Galaxy then listened to the next concern that he voiced and nodded. They would have to get along in order for this to work. Galaxy contemplated what he said, and looked at the calender on the wall. It would be the first in a few weeks. "Well, in a few weeks it will be the first of the month. If you'd like, we can stretch the trial period until then, and if you like it here, you can stay, if not, you may be on your way?" She only hoped that two weeks would be enough time for him to decide. She also hoped that he would decide they were compatible At least, living together wise. With dinner coming to an end, Galaxy hadn't even noticed the grey clouds moving in.

Orsino nodded as Galaxy spoke. He was glad that she agreed to at least letting him pitch in for food. More then likely he was sure he could just slip her more money and hoped she wouldn't notice, she seemed like the kind of person who would be sure to give him his money back. Though he would prefer that she didn't. He made more then enough money to be able to sustain himself and then some, so really, it was completely fine. "I would appreciate that, thank you." he moved from his soup over to the bread and watch Galaxy. It seemed that she was putting her child first, which he supposed was the typical motherly response. It made perfect sense to him. Well, he was no mother, but he knew how he felt about his dragons, he was really quite protective of them, especially the younger ones, as they were the most in danger, though he tended to be quite weary of the bigger ones. He looked up when she mentioned stretching the trial out until the first of the month. He liked that idea, it was a good plan. "Yeah, first of the month, sounds good." And he was back to short sentences, unsurprising really, he just wasn't a very big talker.</SIZE></COLOR></FONT>

Orsino screwed up a wad of parchment and incendioed it. He was annoyed that he wasn't getting this done. He'd been working on it since the end of dinner, it was near to midnight now and a storm had just set in. Orsino didn't much care for storms, mainly because they got the dragons worked up, but he didn't have any dragons with him at this point, so it wasn't that much of a big deal for him. Starting from scratch for what seemed to be the millionth time, Orsino rubbed his neck. He was tired, but not tired enough to actually sleep. He'd said goodnight to Galaxy and the little one ages ago and he supposed that they were probably asleep now. So he quietly tiptoed around his room as he gathered up a bunch of his research, or rather, the research he'd been given to look at. He hoped that the numbers were correct because they were important for his own follow up. He didn't want to be screwed over simply because the guy had fudged some of the numbers, after all, it would be on his own head, not the guys, he should have checked up on it all, which was probably why he was unable to complete his work. he was concerned that it wasn't all correct. Maybe tomorrow morning he would be able to go out and double check, that would be a good plan.

A strike of lightning, and the sound of rolling thunder followed as Orsino piled all of the papers together. He turned and looked out the window as another strike sounded. Rain was coming down quite heavily now and Orsino knew that it was going to be very wet in the morning, perhaps not the ideal time for him to be trying to complete his research, but he had to do something. Rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand, Orsino sighed slightly and realised it was probably easier if he just went to bed. Pulling his shirt over his head, Orsino ran a finger over his most recent scar, it was completely healed now, but boy, it had been a doozy. They'd just received a new transfer from the dragon keep in the south of Romania, dragons hated travel that was initiated by themselves and Orsino had gotten a little too close for comfort. It had ended badly, but Orsino had been fine after a couple of potions one or two spells, a few weeks of bed rest and a nice meal. Now he was here. Yawning, Orsino sat at the end of the bed and began his nightly ritual, which honestly wasn't much, mostly it was just removal of his shoes.

Galaxy said goodnight to Orsino long before she was actually ready to go to bed. She bathed her daughter after finishing the dinner dishes. She had much less to put back than normal, but it was still enough for his or her lunch tomorrow. She thought about him in a kind light, hoping that this worked out. Galaxy hadn't made many friends since moving to New Zealand, and thought that Orsino really could be a blessing in disguise. Especially if he decided to move in and help her pay rent. Galaxy wasn't close to being homeless, not as close as she was when she came to New Zealand with no money at all. Now she had a flat, even if she was working two jobs to pay for it. However, upon being let go from her seasonal job, she had trouble finding another job. After all, she was only a temp at the bar she was waitressing, and it would only be a matter of time before she was let go from there.

Galaxy had already put Mea to bed, and was picking things up in the living room when the rain picked up again. This time it was accompanied by rain. And it wasn't the light drops it was earlier, Galaxy could see the drops from where she was. Her stomach churned immediately. Galaxy hated loud noises, and lightening and thunder were the worst creators of those noises. She could handle it though. At least, she thought she could. She went to her room and grabbed Mea out of her cradle, laying her in the portable carrier that she could sleep in. That way her daughter could be close to her, even though the little one didn't seem bothered by the weather, as she was sleeping right through it.

Crack

Galaxy let out a squeak, jumping up at the sound of a loud rumble of thunder. Galaxy grabbed Mea's carrier. She didn't know what she thought she was doing when her feet carried er to Orsino's room. She supposed that it was what she would have done if she was living with... him. She couldn't even think of her ex fiance's name, it would take too much out of her emotionally. Galaxy was torn in that aspect, as she wanted to remember him, but didn't want to think about him. Another crack of the thunder and Galaxy didn't even thing. She opened the door wide and entered the bedroom, shutting the door as if the storm was following her. Mea's carrier was already gently set on the floor. Galaxy tried very hard to stay brave, but unfortunately, it was obvious she was lying when she said. "I wanted to make sure the storm wasn't scaring you." Her eyes weren't watering yet, but they were red.

Orsino heard the sound of thunder again as he removed his shoes and then stood up. Normally, he didn't have the chance to actually change or anything like that, he would just sleep where he fell in whatever he happened to be wearing at the time. It was different this time though, he had been able to recognise his fatigue before it went too far, not that it made much of a difference really, as it was physically impossible to actually catch up on lost sleep, the body just stored the extra for later and called on it as a reserve, which was why people sometimes overslept, the body is anticipating a lack of sleep and tries to compensate. Still, Orsino knew that he wouldn't oversleep, he never did and really it didn't matter what time her awoke in the morning, the later the better, because he needed to allow time for the rain to let up and for the ground to dry out. He had no idea how long that was going to take. Another clap of thunder sounded and Orsino pulled back the covers of his bed. It looked soft and he hand't been in a proper bed for a while, so he was slightly worried that he would't actually be able to get to sleep, but he would cross that bridge when he got to it.

Another roar of thunder sounded followed by several streaks of light and Orsino suddenly found himself face to face with Galaxy, baby in tow. He blinked at her for several seconds as she placed the baby on the ground and proceeded to tell him that she was checking up on him. Both her face and the state of her voice told Orsino that this was a lie. It was obvious that she was scared of something and reason stated that she was likely scared of the thunder and lightning. He'd never met an adult that was scared of such things before. Regardless though, Orsino had no idea why she was in his room, what was he supposed to do about it. He knew plenty of charms to keep the sound in, but he'd not heard of any that were capable of keep the sound out, so he had no idea what he was supposed to do in this situation. None of his sisters were ever scared of thunder that he could recall, so he didn't even have that to fall back on. As he looked down at Mea, he noted that she didn't seem to be bothered by the noise at all, she was practically dead to the world by the looks of it. Mummy was a very different story however. "Uh, no... I'm fine, thanks." Orsino moved away from the bed and stepped closer to the young girl, wondering what he might be able to do to help her. "Are... are you okay?"

Galaxy hear the branches on the windows, and the apartment creaked a little bit. The noises of those shuffling downstairs was also evident, and Galaxy wasn't sure which noises terrified her more. Loud noises in general actually scared the young mother. That was why Galaxy was so very pleased to have found an apartment that was far away from any marinas or train tracks. The loud noises would keep her up, and she be a grumpy mama. Galaxy heard another low roll, but the sound indicated that the storm must be passing. Galaxy felt like a fool. She was standing just a step or two away, from her supposed to be tenant. And that's when she noticed he was shirtless. Galaxy's face lit up red, much like Rudolf's nose. "I'm sorry to have bothered you." She said, her voice riddled with the embarrassment that she felt. Galaxy didn't sleep shirtless, thankfully, as she might have not had the cognitive ability to put one on before running scared. Instead she was wearing a simple, knee length, nightgown. It wasn't frilly, just simple, it was something that obviously didn't cost much.

Galaxy felt it better not to say anymore to Orsino, as she'd already made a fool of herself. She was turning to head out of the room, planning to apologize, when a sudden white flash of light lit the room through the window. The loudest roll of thunder in the storm barreled loud enough to nearly shake the house, and Galaxy nearly screamed; her voice was just about a squeak though. Without thinking she turned to Orsino, who was standing now about three steps away, and wrapped her arms around his waist. She was utterly frightened, nearly in tears, her face buried in his bare chest. Galaxy didn't even care about her embarrassment anymore. She was just afraid.

Storms really weren't fun, not for anyone, but Orsino was definitely not afraid of them. He'd been stuck out in his fair share of them to garner a low wariness of them however and could understand that some people might be slightly fearful of them, but he'd never actually met someone who reacted the way Galaxy did. He shook his head when she spoke and crossed his arms, shaking his head at her. "No trouble, really." He would much rather her do whatever made her feel more comfortable in a storm, then terrify herself half to death, it wouldn't be good for little Mea. After all, Galaxy's first instinct would usually be to protect her daughter, at least that was what he thought from having watched her the last few hours. Still, he supposed she didn't seem too badly affected, despite the fact that she had come running in here, she seemed to be a little better now, though the lighting of the room obscured her face slightly so he couldn't really tell. It had only been the state of her eyes, which were quite visible only minutes ago, that told him there might have been a slight problem. Redness in her cheeks confused him however. He could clearly see the tinged flesh even with the strange effect that the storm was having on the light and he had to wonder why she was red in the face. Perhaps the storm was affecting her more then he thought?

His question was answered after another shout of thunder and lightning threw her into his chest. Orsino had absolutely no clue what-so-ever about what the heck he would be expected to do in a situation as the one he currently found himself in. What would Rosa think of this if she saw him right now. She'd probably laugh. She didn't think he was capable of being anything bar grumpy. Orsino raised his arms, trying not to touch her. She was a girl, basically his landlord and she was vulnerable and wrapped around him like a goddamn anaconda. What the heck was he supposed to do now?! "Uh, Galaxy... what are you doing?" If he wasn't mistaken, she was shaking quite thoroughly. So she had been more scared of the storm then she had been letting on. Orsino looked down at the baby on the floor and awkwardly pat the mother on the head, however it didn't seem to be enough. Looking skyward, Orsino cursed whatever bloody deity existed in either world for doing this too him, before softly bringing his arms down to wrap around the young woman's shoulders. "It's okay, it's just a storm." He was trying to be soothing and calming, but he wasn't actually sure how much of an effect he would have on her. After all they had just met, he was completely out of his depth on this one. He placed his chin on her head slightly, not sure if that was really "proper", but if it calmed her down, then he didn't care. "It's alright now, please calm down."

Galaxy could remember being a little girl, and her father and mother cuddling her close as the storms raged on. The sound almost made her want to be little again, be back in her home with all seven of her brothers and sisters. Galaxy couldn't focus on any of that now. She could only focus on the comforting warmth of the man she had just wrapped her thin arms around. Galaxy, at first, thought nothing of the encounter. She only knew of the comfort that the moment held. The comfort that she and her daughter were safe, that they were protected by someone. Galaxy could only think about how she was protected once more; and for once, the storm inside of her subsided, and she wasn't as afraid of what was outside. She just felt comfortable, again like she did after she and her late lover had laid under the stars. She felt as if nothing could possibly be wrong with her situation at that moment.

Orsino's voice was calming, and Galaxy seemed to have forgotten that she'd only just met the large gentleman she was hugging. Red locks seemed to be messy, frizzed with the humidity from the rain, and fell around Galaxy's shoulder, covering the fearful expression on her face, which was slowly relaxing. Her constriction only let up a little as he asked her to calm down; and her arms loosened into a hug when his arms became draped around her. Galaxy couldn't remember the last time she'd even come close to getting a hug like this one. It was nice. That was, until Orsino spoke once more. Galaxy realized just what she was doing, and she quickly pulled back, enough to look at him. Galaxy realized this could be awkward, but she just felt safe. So once again she tightened her grip around him. "Thank you." Galaxy whispered. "I suppose I'll try and go to sleep now." Galaxy moved to let go, even though her arms and torso still shook. It was obvious that she was still frightened of the storm, but her pride told her to leave then and there, and just hope he could forget the incident and choose to stay. Galaxy would just keep Mea by her, and sleep when the storm was over.

There was a time and place, but this was not it. Slowly Orsino felt the shaking lessen, but it did not stop. Even as she pulled away slightly and then hugged him again, Orsino could feel that it wasn't yet over. He was glad that she had calmed down, even slightly, because no one deserved to be scared, though she could have probably picked a better neighbourhood if she was like this all the time. Orsino wondered if it was just storms that did this, or if it was all types of loud noises like this or something else. Unsure as she pulled away from him again, Orsino dropped his arms from around her. However he realised that she really wasn't alright and as she made to leave, he reached out to grab her by the arm. It was obvious that somewhere in the back of her mind she didn't want to leave, so who was he to make her. This was her apartment, she could do what she wanted. He wasn't going to stop her. He held onto her arm and looked at her face, though it was not easy to see in this light. "Galaxy... do you want to stay for a bit?" He gestured to the window. "The storm won't let up for a while, i could sit up with you if you wanted?" After a nod of confirmation and a slight "yes", Orsino left her to climb onto the bed as he retrieved the baby and her carrier. Walking over to the bed, Orsino handed Galaxy her child before walking around to the other side of the bed and sitting as far away from her as her could, but close enough to be of some comfort. Whilst Galaxy was not lying down, with Mea in her arms, Orsino remained sat against the head of the bed. He was not sleeping tonight.
-Finished-
In the end, Orsino did end up falling asleep, but it was all very innocent. When Galaxy woke up the next morning, she quickly removed herself, leaving Orsino to a peaceful slumber.
