Demetrius Aurelious looked around the hall curiously. His adoptive parents had never been to Hogwarts New Zealand, so they couldn't tell him much, but his twin adoptive siblings went here, Fayt and him did not talk too much, but Gabrielle had told him a lot about it, how the students were really interesting, the teachers were nice and the food was great. He had buterflies in him and his smile would not remove itself from his face, he was too excited, he was too curious, he could barely contain himself. He saw many students all around him, some wearing uniforms with colours, others, who looked more his age, were not. Names were being called out, considering they were being called from last name to first, he expected that he would be up soon, though the 'U' in his name did hold it off for awhile, which gave him some time to calm himself down, his heart was hammering itself against his ribs, his hands were shaking. He wasn't sure if he was nervous, scared or excited, the three emotions seemed to drown into one main feeling, anxiety. He was anxious about when his name would be called, when he would be sorted, when he would truly be a Hogwarts New Zealand student.

"Aurelious, Demetrius."

It was time, it was his time to walk up and put that weird hat on his head, that hat that seemed to have complete control over the whole thing. He sighed with nerves as he tottered towards it, making sure he did not fall over his own feet, it could happen, though it was not likely, he rarely tripped over when walking. But there was a first time for everything. He walked up the steps and sat on the stool, allowing the hat to be placed on his head. It was large, so much so that it covered his eyes, this was slightly shocking to him, but he kept himself under control, making sure he didn't fall off the stool. He felt odd, just sitting on a stool, in front of so many people he didn't know, wearing a hat that was far too large for him. But he waited patciently, for whatever was supposed to happen.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Heiji entered the Great Hall with the other first years. The group stopped in front of a platform with a man and some weird hat that was said to be The Sorting Hat. "Jeez, this too troublesome. Why did Auntie bother to make me go to this school anyway? And why does a weird hat need to make the decision on where I go. Seriously." he thought. And, suddenly he heard, "Hattori, Heiji." "Well, here goes nothing." and he went up the platform and sat on the stool. "Will you just get it over with. You're too troublesome you know. Making speeches during sorting. We're just wasting time." he said to the hat and waited for its response.

"Slytherin."

OOCOut of Character:
Speeches? Everything but the house name is only heard by the character.
For example: All of Hogwarts didn't hear Harry and the sorting hat go at it about Gryffindor/Slytherin.
So unfortunately I couldn't respond to the RP, because it doesn't make sense IC. :(

Satsuke waited in line patiently. He was one of the very last to be sorted. He was excited to be waiting in line. He did not know much about magic, but he saw it as a new adventure. Something new that he was really interested in. It was also another reason for him to stay in New Zealand, so he would not have to go back and suffocate back in Japan. Satuke then heard his name.

"Nakamura, Satsuke."

The woman's voice rang out. He walked up to the stool and sat down. All the eyes on him did not make him nervous. The raggedy old hate was place on his head. "How long did it take you to make that song?" He thought in his head. He had liked to song. Maybe he could pursue music after his years at Hogwarts. He had no clue where he would end up.

"I have all year to come up with a song. That one, however, is an older one. But this is about you and not me. I think you're a great find for HUFFLEPUFF!"

Jacob sat nervously waiting in the sorting line-up he heard the names being called out ( Birdy,Kurt ). Jacob turned and saw his brother Cole at one of the houses tables,he waved to Cole but Cole just smirked and mouthed "good luck". Jacob mouthed back "won't need it" and grinned he knew what house he was to be put in he had calculated what house he would be put in because of his personality being a bookworm and a rule follower he thought ravenclaw perhaps...or maybe hufflepuff. But he knew most deffinately he was far too kind for Slytherin. ( Dawlish,Jacob) his name was being called!! Now was the time to find out where he was destined to be!! He crossed his fingers and bit his lip...

"Most clearly someone who belongs in RAVENCLAW!"

Fern is very nervous. Being muggleborn and all she wasnt the most popular student on the train. When she got her letter her parents were laughing and thought it was a joke. But Fern new it wasnt. She was standing alone when a professor brought her year into the great hall. She didnt really hear anyone get sorted but she did hear alot of "Gryffindor" but when she snaped into reality someone by the name of " Nolan, James" who got sorted into Slytherin. When her name was called the hat said:
"HUFFLEPUFF!"

OOCOut of Character:
Remember not to godmod the hat. ;)

Yulli joined the group of unsorted students as they made their way into the Great Hall. It was the time to be sorted and she was very excited for she wanted to study magic her whole life. She watched as the woman in front gave them instructions. As they traveled along the path towards the hat, Yulli's jaw dropped when she saw the beautiful decorations that surrounded the room. She has never seen such beautiful things in her life. The one that fascinated her most was the ceiling. Some kind of a spell was cast on it to make the view like a night sky. Yulli knew that it was sorting time when the announcer started calling out names. Fortunately, her surname wasn't called until P so it took a while before her name was called. Yulli rubbed her face with eager anticipation to be sorted. "Pesance, Yullixa?" The woman called. Yulli quickly walked towards the small stool that stood stiffly in front of the batch. When she was successfully seated, she took a deep breath for she knew that her fate would be decided not much longer. The woman lowered the hat upon Yulli's brunette hair. "Okay Mr Hat. Let's get this over with", Yulli muttered and closed her eyes and waited for the final judgement.

"Once I'm on your head that's the start of getting it over with. It's hardly my fault your surname begins with the letter P and you've waited this long. Now, go join your housemates in GRYFFINDOR!"

Summer grins widely at the rows of tables ahead her she can see the sorting hat.Rusty and old placed opon a students head (Atwall,Kiara) the hat calls,Summer looked in awe at the lineup it was long but exciting none the less she hoped to be in Gryffindor like her dad. The hat called out Kiara's house HUFFLEPUFF! Cheers erupt around the Hufflepuff table.Summer looked at the Gryffindor table and saw her best friend Hannah Jaxburthorn who was waving to her excidedly "good luck,Summer!" Hannah mouthed.Summer mouthed "Thanks,Hannah!". Just at that time the hat called (Brynn,Summer). Summer walked up confidently and sat down she knew she was going to be in a good house no matter what! even if its crappy Slytherin. The hat moved comfortably on her head and pursed his lips:
"RAVENCLAW!"

Amelia looked up at he he castle in from of her. It was absolutely amazing and she couldn't believe this was where she would be attending school for the next seven years. She had been looking forward to this days since she was four years old. Her parents had told her so much about it.They had met here. Her older brothers had already gone to school. There was a huge gap between her and her three older brothers because her mam had had a miscarriage and it had taken her a long time to get over it.

She was now walking into the Great Hall with her future classmates. They all looked nervous.Amelia sure felt nervous but she didn't look it.she looked perfectly calm on the outside.she walked down the room looking in awe at he huge hall. all the other student were clapping. When hey were at the frot ofthe hall the minister for magic stood up and began to speak. Then the names began to be called.

Jane Amelia

After what seemed like forever her. She slowly walked up to the three legged stool and sat down waiting for the hat to be put on her head.

"Seems like you'll do well in SLYTHERIN!"

Ralph was standing beside his new friend, Sharina. He was a bit tense but he kept shaking it off. He was wondering, what house he will be get sorted and he wished that he will be sorted in Gryffindor but he wasn't sure of it. He sighed and took a deep breath and shake off his fears. Suddenly, his name was called out."Green, Ralph!"His heart suddenly pounded and hold his chest tightly and let it go of it.

"As you wish. GRYFFINDOR!"

Sharina was standing in the Great Hall. Her cleverness was seriously true but she's really brave, daring nerve and chivalry as she didn't expect.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Adrian had been waiting in line for awhile. It did not bother her though. She did not want to Sorting Hat to just call out call out random houses for the students before her. This was a rare moment that she even cared about anyone other than herself. She would be the first one in her family to attend Hogwarts New Zealand. She wanted the Hat to put her in a great house. Sure, all the houses were great, but she wanted to be in a house great for her. She hoped the Hat took it's time when it became her time to be sorted.

"Maley, Adrian."

The woman's voice rang out. Adrian walked up the stairs and up to the stool. She sat down and crossed her legs. "The best house for me, please." She thought politely in her head. She looked at each of the four tables and waited for the Hat's decision.

"The best house for your ambitions, and what you're looking for from school, is certainly SLYTHERIN!"

whisper and say to the sorting hat ' please sir , put me in gryffindor , not the other houses , i know that this house would work well with me in it .

"Unfortunately, I don't believe Gryffindor is where you belong. No, you seem to me much more of a HUFFLEPUFF!"

It was the most awaited day for future first year students, the day when they will be sorted to their respective houses which will be their homes through out their stay in Hogwarts. A number Freshmen-to-be were lined up, nervous and excited chatter filled the air. Almost everyone was happy to be there, looking forward to the year that they would spent in the magical world, but not Liam Nightray, a young boy with raven black hair and cold eyes. He tried not to talk and socialize with other students, after all, he was not there to make friends. He was there to learn, to get stronger so one day, he would be able to make those people who had betrayed the Nightray family to feel the same humiliation and suffering that he did.

Little by little, the noise died down and a woman whose name he didn't bother know, had announced the start of the ceremony. Students got called out according to their names, and with him surname beginning with the letter N, it took quite a long time before he had been called.

"Nightray, Liam"

Without any care of his surroundings, Liam approach the stool situated in front and took a seat. He didn't made any unnecessary noise or movement, but rather, waited for the hat which was doing all the sorting to be placed in his head. While some were amazed that the said hat could talk, Liam wasn't. He need not to be distracted from reaching his goals, so such trivial and insignificant thing as being awed by a talking hat would not be important to him. "Just get this done already.." He muttered, slight irritation building up at what he had perceived was just a waste of his time.

"You don't need to tell me twice. I don't want to be stuck on your head any longer than need be, either. SLYTHERIN!"

A huge smile appeared on Erica's face as she entered the huge classic castle, it was the first time of her being away from her parents. She was tired of being locked up in the place of hers or the Nightray's. At last, she was free! The young girl eyed the first years beside her, they all looked as excited as little Erica. Erica followed the group as the smile on her face grew wider and wider.. She was admiring on the walls, the decoration, everything that she forgot that she wasn't with the group. As soon as she realized that, the little girl ran as fast as she could toward the group and bumped on a kid who didn't looked nice. Kindly, she apologized to him as she bowed her head.

One by one they began sorting the unsorted students. Erica's eyes started to sparkle as she saw the stool in front and the talking hat which they called the sorting hat. "Bellerose Erica" They called, Erica wasn't paying attention so she stood still and looked at the empty stool wondering why no one went up to the front. Once again they called her name. The little girl walk toward the stool feeling embarrassed because they had to call her twice to make her notice that it was actually her turn to be sorted. "Sorry" She apologized as she sat on the stool and took a deep breath as she waited for the sorting hat to sort her.

"Unquestionably a GRYFFINDOR!"

Raziel Kim was overly excited when he had discovered that he had been invited to attend Hogwarts School of Wizardry, and he was looking forward to this day ever since the acceptance of the letter. Joining the mass of freshmen-to-be who are lining up along the great hall of the school, Raziel cannot help but to be amazed about everything around him. It was just so different to be there. With a huge smile on his face, Raziel tried all that he can to focus and listen to the woman who was talking in front. He will surely have a wonderful yer ahead of him.

Time pass by and at the end of the sorting hat's song, future firsties where called to be sorted according to their names. With his surname starting with K, it took quite sometime before he had been called. "Kim, Raziel" He heard someone call out his name but being him, he ignored the first call, eyes still scanning the room in amazement. "Kim, Raziel" This time around, he turned curiously in front, before realization hit him that he was the one being called out to. With a beam, he went straight to the front as fast as his feet could take him. He bowed in apology for not listening and sat cheerfully at the chair in front. His future friends' as he called it, curious gazes were the last ones that he saw before the hat had been placed on his head.

"There are plenty of riddles waiting for you in RAVENCLAW!"

Cybele Choi sighed as she continued walking with the group to the castle. It was huge and classy and Cybele thought it was boring since most castles were like that and she had seen similar architecture before. The young girl yawned as she walk up the stairs with the unsorted students, she was tired of the long ride and she had arguments with idiots back in the train. Cybele was never the night person, she woke up early in the morning and slept earlier than other people unless a party was thrown. "Move people" She muttered as she made her way to the front.

Not too long a huge door appeared in her sight as they entered the great hall. Candles were floating and there were so many students and Cybele was sure that a lot of them think with their butt. The professor then began the speech and the sorting ceremony begun. The students were sorted into four different houses, one by one. Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Cybele wasn't even sure which house she wanted to be in. The young girl continued looking at her manicured nails as she listened to the sorting hat, sorting each one of them. "Choi Cybele" She heard and sighed as she made her way to the front. She sat on the stool calmly as she felt the old hat on her head. Her mind was still on her nail instead of the sorting ceremony. She wanted it to be over as soon as possible, she was tired and she had no interest in it and she hated feeling an old hat on her head, it felt awkward.

"SLYTHERIN."

Hannah was very excited to get sorted. She kept running her finger through hair while walking until they reach the Great Hall together with her same attitude, James, her twin brother. But just as they started to stop walking and wait to call their names, Hannah's heart keep beating loudly. She suddenly hold her chest. "Hannah, don't be tense. Calm down, calm down." she thought to her mind. One by one was called by the minister. Hannah was standing still and stopped running her fingers on her hair. Yes, it would be enough, her hair was already fixed. Just as she waiting for her name, she glared to the Slytherin Table, wishing she's one of them too. She took a deep breath when her name was suddenly called.

"Kernwein, Hannah!"

Hannah walked towards the Sorting Hat and sat on the chair. The minister took the hat and put it on her head. She's a bit tense right now but she just shake it off. Now she was sitting on the chair, relaxed and there's a word inside Hannah's mind, "Slytherin." Hoping she would be placed there. Her eyes were open looking around the students in front of her and the word Slytherin was still in her mind.

"Hufflepuff."

OOCOut of Character:
Resending a sorting form with answers changed to try to get the house you want is not OK.
Your original form would have had the character as a Slytherin. The resubmission made this decision.

Ferb entered the Great Hall for the first time. When he was called, "Flether, Ferb," he went to the stool and waited for the Sorting Hat's decision.

"RAVENCLAW!"

It was the best day for James while walking with the students. He was excited to be sorted. He was talking to his twin sister, Hannah about some things in Hogwarts. They were plenty of unsorted students and James loves to choose people to become his friend. He didn't want to mix with some people that has a few different personality with him. After a few minutes of walking, they reach the Great Hall and stopped at the front of the stairs were the minister and the hat were at the top. James was waiting to call his name. He took a deep breath and sighed while students were called one by one. Later on, his name was called.

"Kernwein, James!"

James stepped forward and walked towards the hat. His chest suddenly clutched like squeezing it that made James feel tense. He sat on the chair and the minister took the hat and put it on James' head.

"Slytherin."

I walk down the aisle, and the sorting hat was put into my head. All of the students were looking at me... My heart is pounding very loud... I wanted to be in the gryffindor, the house of the brave... I waited and waited to what the sorting will cry for my house...

"As you will. GRYFFINDOR!"
OOCOut of Character:
Remember to roleplay in the third person. Instead of "I" you would use "He/she" and instead of "my" you would use "his/her"

Daenerys walked into the great hall and looked around in awe. she couldnt belive she was her finally being sorted into hogwarts. this palce was better than she couldve dreamed. finally her life was looking up. she knew just one person here and she couldnt see him. as she approached the front of the hall. people were starting to be sorted. while she waited she caught sight of stefan looking bore at the hufflepuff table. "Targaryen,Daenerys." As she walked up to the front she gained confidence. "please mr hat can you make this quick." she said as the hat s put on her head.

"Hopefully you won't find yourself bored at the Hufflepuff table, as well. If you do it right, Hufflepuff can be a very exciting place. I hear they're excellent finders. HUFFLEPUFF!"

The doors of the great hall finally opened. The other Hogwarts students who were happily chatting with each other suddenly fell silent. The unsorted first years made their way up to the front. The man explained how the sorting will be done. So, he finally started to call out names. The first years' population started to decrease as time passes. "Henry, Olivia." the man finally called. Olivia made her way to the stool and sat. The sorting hat was placed on her head. it was a bit large that it slipped down which covered her eyes. 'This is it.' she thought.

"You're undoubtedly a Ravenclaw, but there are plenty of adventures to be had there, too - and even more for you. RAVENCLAW!"

It was in the moment of time. His parents would be proud if they could see him now. He sat down with those in the green cloaks, for that was the only spot open. He wasn't afraid to sit with them, minus the stories from his older sister who told of the treacherousness that the Slytherins imposed on everybody. He had moved to New Zealand, but far away from most civilization on a ranch. He really didn't know anybody. His sister had graduated 3 years ago as a bookworm Ravenclaw. They seemed quite nice, so did the Hufflepuffs. The Gryffindors. They seemed so glorious. Simply majestic.
"Marvy. Ben Marvy." A booming voice had shouted. This was it.

"Without a doubt a GRYFFINDOR!"

Anecmanus walked through the hallowed, dusty, but somewhat entrancing halls of Hogwarts. The group of people with him were all easily excitable, loud, and some were even obnoxious. He didn't like what he saw, and he didn't really blame himself for it either. He much rathered being on his own, and everyone else here was just a solid example of why he liked to be on his own. Nobody was ever themselves anymore, and all of them tended to be the same broken record, or they'd be a follower. But that wasn't what he was, because he didn't have anyone to follow, and he didn't really want anyone to follow. He was fine on his own little side of the world, behind a wall that nobody would ever break down. He listened as the names of the others were called as the list drew shorter until it reached his own name.

"Dumont, Anecmanus."

As Manny made his way up towards the Sorting Hat, he wondered the things that everyone else had said to the hat as it had been placed on their heads. Obviously some snappy response, or some last ditch effort to get the house that they wanted. But he wouldn't say anything, he would just sit there and wait for the decision to be made. It wasn't a big deal to him, just another life decision that'd isolate him in one way or another.

"There's no doubt in my stuffing that you're a SLYTHERIN!"

Stepping off the boats, Callie-Melantha and the rest of the first years are guided up the paths and into the enterance hall, on the way to the sorting ceremony. All the way through the castle, Callie-Melantha was walking, talking and joking with a group of first years that seemed like her. They were all hushed as they stopped at the big, oak doors that led to the main hall. The dooors opened and the professor led them to the front of the hall, through a mass of long tables and were stopped in front of a stone dais. The professor showed them a stool and the sorting hat. Callie-Melantha, thinking to herself, "how cool is that! there is the one most magical item in the castle!" The professor started reading names of other students off a white-ish scroll.
All of the students that had surrounded her, dispersed throughout the hall after being sorted, and they had only reached 'Susanna Bloe' "What a drag" Callie-Melantha thought.
Finally her name was called.
'Callie-Melantha Bloodchild' She stepped onto the dais and walked up to the professor and sat on the stool.
She sat there quietly as the sorting hat was placed on her head and then she spoke.
"Sorting hat, consider me carefully before placing me. You will need to search my mind before placing me in any house. I may seem like a Ravenclaw, with liking books and such but you should look deeper before spinning my wheel of fate at this accredited wizarding school".
The sorting hat sat quietly on her head for a minute, no doubt examining her mind thoroughly, before announcing that...

"I consider every person carefully, young girl. As much as you may want Slytherin, I don't see a thirst for power or greatness like one would expect in a Slytherin. By all means, your desire to prank seems like that of any other eleven year old. Your true goals line up well with the house you've counselled me against. Perhaps the devious nature is the surface, and your desire for knowledge and innate wisdom is the deeper aspect. You're a RAVENCLAW!"
