Lillith was having a good day so far, she had her mug filled to brim with warm cocoa in her hand and a plate full of spaghetti on her other hand. The young hufflepuff had woken up on the good side of the bed, had a good run on the grounds and a good chat with her friends. Everything was going perfectly, and maybe she'd make another friend today. She stood up with her food and drink in hand, going to sit beside another girl in her house. With a grin on her face, she headed towards her roommate. "Lillith!" She thought she heard her name had been called from somewhere, and so she turned around quickly, not paying attention to where the contents of her mug had gone. She scanned her eyes quickly to see who had called her but it seemed she was mistaken. As Lillith turned back around, she saw a girl, about her age, who had a big brown splash-shaped stain on her top that seemed to have reached slightly onto her face, and the bottom half of her hair was soaked in cocoa.

@Mackenzie Dawson

Classes so far had been either boring or annoying Mackenzie to the fullest. If they weren't doing one thing they were most certainly doing the other. She was done for the day now though, glad to have gotten past all them. With her homework already finished she had made her way into the great hall, looking around to see if there was anyone there she knew. It wasn't like she had a lot of friends but there were a couple of people she could stand, appreciated being around from time to time. A few of which were in her house, which led her feet to take her right over to her own house table. She was about to pass by some girl next to the hufflepuff table when the girl in question turned around and Mackenzie suddenly felt something warm drenching her ivory blouse, as well as decorating her skin. Clenching her jaw as she stared at the culprit once she turned around and stopped to look at her rather foolishly. "Are you kidding me." Mackenzie stared her dead in the eye whilst speaking through gritted teeth, before looking back down at her, now clearly stained, blouse.

Lillith's face turned into one of terror. "I'm so sorry! Are you hurt?" Lillith put down her plate of spaghetti and grabbed some napkins, trying desperately to clean off the mess that she had made on the ravenclaw girl's blouse. Her attempts may have made it the situation even worse. Lillith had managed to get the droplets from her hair to go onto the girl's top and had smudged it around. From the front, it seemed like the girl was wearing something brown rather than something that had once been white and stained with cocoa. "I'm so so sorry!" She repeated, still trying (without any progress) to lessen the damage that she had done.

Mackenzie wasn't one to lash out, show something got to her. She much better preferred to keep her cool, stay calm even if she was angry. Which was exactly what she was right now. In her head she was silently cursing the girl, yet the words didn't follow through and stayed safe and secure inside her head rather than finding their way out. "I'm fine." She stated, taking a little step back as the girl was about to put her plate of food down as she was not in the mood to somehow get that all over her as well. Before Mackenzie could get in another word the girl started to basically attack her with napkins, possibly attempting to get the chocolate off. Perplexed by the fact that she honestly seemed to think rubbing was going to make things better it took the ravenclaw a second to get her wits together. "Would you stop it." She snatched one of the clean napkins from the girls grip, ever so slightly raising her voice. Mackenzie used the napkin to calmly get off the droplets that had been decorating her neck and chin, before looking down at her once ivory blouse that had now turned the most disgusting shade of brown she had ever laid eyes on. "Sorry isn't going to fix this, is it?" She bluntly said, looking back up at the girl again with a deadly glare. It wasn't that she cared much for the blouse, wasn't too bothered by it being ruined. Sure, she liked it and it had been expensive but she could get easily get three new ones if she wanted. What did annoy her was how clumsy this girl seemed to be and how she had managed to take a bad situation and turn it into one even worse.

"I'm sorry." Lillith said, looking down at her empty hands as the girl took the napkins away from her. She rubbed her hands together, and thinking of what to do. Lillith wasn't a huge klutz but she did every so often, have her moments."Umm. Do you... want to borrow my jacket?" She asked, looking up again and putting her fingers against her jacket. Her jacket was from a fancy muggle brand, and to her knowledge it was supposed to be expensive, but her father had always told her that money can be earned, but forgiveness couldn't be bought, well in this case maybe it could. Besides, Lillith didn't think that the girl would want to go up all the stairs with a stained top.

In her head Mackenzie was already wondering how on earth she was going to make it all the way up to her dorm without having people laugh at her. Not that she cared too much about what people thought but having them fully laugh at her was a whole other matter. She didn't have a mirror ready but she figured she looked quite the mess at the moment. Her blouse was ruined, strands of her hair were sticking together because of the hot chocolate and she was quite certain she still had some stickiness on her neck and chin as well. Mackenzie carefully considered the girl's words when she offered her her jacket. On the one hand she was glad that maybe this girl wasn't completely annoying and had recognized she couldn't be walking around the castle like this but on the other borrowing her jacket meant she had to return it at one point. She would, obviously, return it if she did decide to borrow it but that also meant she'd have to purposely interact with the girl again. "Yes." She answered eventually after a quick glance at the jacket. It seemed okay, rather pretty actually. Nice enough for her to be seen in it at the very least. "Please." Mackenzie added after a second, although with very little emotion. She was raised to have good manners after all, taught to answer yes or no questions with two or ore words rather than a singular one. Purely out of politeness, basic decency.

Lillith got nervous, not sure what to do if the girl would say no. She would have at some point exploded out of guilt for ruining the girl’s blouse. When the girl said yes, the young hufflepuff’s slight frown turned into the brightest grin. She took over her jacket carefully and gave it to the girl. “Here!” The jacket’s insides was most likely to get messy or ruined to a certain point, but her parent’s wouldn’t mind right? Her father could surely find a maid to clean that up for her.

Lillith wondered what house the girl was in, she hadn’t seen her around much and hadn’t cared to pay too much attention to what housesshe was taking her classes with. But Lillith knew the girl was also a second year like her. “What house are you in?” She asked, her curiousity getting the better of her.

Mackenzie was surprised at how easily the girl seemed to be ready to hand her the jacket should she have said yes. Which she did. Personally, she would never be so quick to lend someone she didn't know any of her clothes. Then again, the fact that her blouse was now ruined had been the girl's fault in the first place so lending her the jacket might be the least she could do. "Thank you." She stated politely as she took the jacket, carefully putting it on in an attempt to have it hide most of the stains on her blouse yet trying not to ruin the jacket as well. Even if the girl had ruined her blouse that didn't mean she had to do the same to the girl's jacket. She was raised better than that. Mackenzie was about to open her mouth to let the girl know she'd get the jacket back to her in due time when she asked her another question. It took her a second to decide whether she would just turn around and leave, act as if she hadn't heard the girl ask another question, or stay and answer. She chose the latter because, in truth, there was nothing better for her to do at the moment. She didn't need to study yet, didn't want to study yet, and she didn't have that many friends. If she could even consider any of the girls she hadn't disliked so far her friends. "Ravenclaw." Mackenzie answered, sizing the girl up as she wondered why she would even continue to talk to her. It wasn't as if she radiated amiability and she certainly hadn't been friendly so far either.

Lillith smiled, she didn't have any ravenclaw friends yet. "That's so cool! I'm from hufflepuff!" She said, gesturing at the hufflepuff table beside her. It didn't hit Lillith that the girl might not want to be friends with her. Most people who she had talked to usually had a positive reaction to becoming friends, well most of the time she didn't spill hot cocoa over them. "I'm Lillith. It was nice to meet you!" She said as she picked up her plate of spaghetti again.

"Again, I'm really sorry about the blouse. See you around!" She gave her a smile and headed over to her friend, who was still waiting for her. The young hufflepuff went past the girl she had just met and walked on the balls of her feet, slightly skipping.
