The Ruling Girls

[Veronica White]

Veronica walked into her room after having spent a surprising afternoon with Joshua. She had just fallen for him and it had been same the other way around. Her heart was still fluttering and her spirits high. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and she was looking quite ordinary.She wondered if he had been planning to ask her for some time because she had absolutely received it as a sweet surprise.

She hummed one of her favorite songs and played with her hair as she tried to get used to the fact that she had got herself a boyfriend, another boyfriend to be precise. She was feeling very happy after weeks and she couldn't wait to write about this in her diary. Just as she was tying her blonde hair into a bun she saw a packet of one of her favorite chocolates 'kisses' and she went and grabbed one of them and put it into her mouth where it melted. The taste was sweet and perfect but these kisses were no match for the kisses she had received today. She blushed at her own thoughts.

Sally had been spending her time with Zac, she had a good time with him. Too bad the twins weren't there, they would love hanging out with their older brother and sister. She could only meet them during long holidays. She laughed and shouted from the stairs "BYE ZAAACHY!!!" She shouted as loud as she could, typical Sally she was always loud unlike her cousin Genvieve who was calm. She held the doll that her brother gave her and opened the door. She walk toward her bed finding an owl from the twins. She smiled at the letter and jumped on the bed while opening them one by one.

"SWEET MOTHER MERLIN!" She jumped finding Veronica in her room, she didn't know that she had a room mate. "Hi Veronica! Sorry... I thought I'm all alone here" She giggled as she ripped the letter reading it one by one. She then put the letters on the table and grabbed her panda doll. "Isn't it cute????" She squeaked "Zac gave it to me" She said with her famous baby voice and threw it to the bed. She then sat in front of the mirror and took her the plastics that she brought. She had been shopping in the village along with Zac. She took out the hats and start trying them one by one. "Hey want one? Take any that you want" She said opening the plastic bags.

Veronica almost jumped when she heard the door open and Sally come in. Of course she had forgotten to inform Sally that she was moving into her room. Veronica's room was having some leakage from the ceiling and plumbing problems so she had shifted hear today early morning. "Hey Sally" she said with a grin as she watched her friend enter with loads of things. It looked like she had been shopping like all the other students while Veronica had spent the afternoon in the castle with Joshua. "Sorry..I decided to move here and forgot to tell you...how rude of me" she said with an apologetic smile.

"It sure is" she said referring to the doll that Sally had. Zac sure had some cute choice of things. "Those are pretty" she said as she looked at the hats that Sally had got. "Really?" she asked excited at the prospect of having a hat."Sweet" She had very few of those and one of her new black dresses looked like it would go very nicely with one of the hats. "This one's lovely. Can I take it?"she asked her with a smile. "Did your parents write to you?"she asked Sally noticing the letters.

Sally then widen her eyes when she saw the hat that she wore. Someone must had slipped the wrong hat to the bag. "I don't remember buying this but yeah sure... Take it" She smiled at her, she took the hairbands out of the bag and start putting them in her cabinet. She had 40 hairbands so far and each of them had at least a ribbon on it. "I know I'm a maniac but... Oh well" She shrugged and put it one by one, she bought 3 new ones so far, her brother bought one for her and he bought her a white gold necklace. She felt so proud of her siblings, they were always together and they had never fight, well... Rarely. The twins fought a lot but not Sally and Zac.

"No, my younger brother wrote me a letter" It was quite odd that he wrote such a long letter. "What about you? Have your parents write you a letter?" She knew nothing about Veronica, not yet that was why she asked her innocently. Summer would come soon and it meant that she could go back home to China and meet the rest of the family. "Hey do you wanna come to our place? Maybe for several days? Joshua can come if you want" She said, she remember Zac telling her that Veronica was with Joshua. Zac told his sister everything and so did Sally.

"Thanks" she said with a smile as she took the hat and put it in the new cupboard that had been moved to this room for her things. Veronica watched smiling as Sally took out all of her shopping. Veronica loved shopping but she always had a little budget set especially till last year. Dympna was rich so Veronica was no longer having a line drawn on her spendings but she still did make sure to not spend too much on anything.

"Oh yeah, the younger twins...Zac told me about them" she said remembering the conversation with Zac where he had mentioned their twin siblings. "No I never get mail from my parents" she told Sally when she was asked. "My father passed away last year and thereafter I moved to stay with my mother in NewZealand. I never knew her before that but no she does not write to me and if she does its brief telling me when I have to go to NewZealand or things like that" she explained Sally hoping she would understand how it was to stay with a mother they never knew and had suspicions that they were evil.

"I'm not sure. I would really love to see China but I'll have to convince my mother. I can write to her and ask" she said wondering on the possibility of the thin chances that she would be allowed to go to China. "I'll ask Josh as well, he might have some plans already... but if I get allowed we can ask him as well" she said happily. She was glad to be around in Sally's room because like Zac, Sally was very friendly.

Sally listened to Veronica who was talking about her family. "Oh I'm soo sorry" She frowned, she felt a little bad for her since her father was dead. "Well my my biological mom passed away too and I'm living with Zac's mom" She was hoping that she felt better, she loved her family more than anything or anyone. Even though she had a step-mom, she still love her, she took care of her very well and she loved her as her own daughter. She could never imagine not having Zac's mom as her own mom. "My parents doesn't write me letters, well they do but not as much as my brothers or sisters" It was true that Sally's parents rarely owl her but when they did, they would send her packages and usually it's once a month. The family loved each other but Sally's parents got carried away when they were working. But good thing that they would meet each other every summer and of course free meals... If Sally wasn't with her parents, she had to pay everything with her own money. Well after all, she was an ordinary teenage who wanted to have fun all the time without finishing all her money.

Sally then stood up and walk over to her cabinet putting away all her shopping bags and the plastics. "Yeah sure, go ask her... I don't really know Josh, I've met him once but well never really get to know him but since you're with him then... He's invited" She didn't want Veronica to feel awkward in the house, she knew that she was with Zac and she knew her brother very well but she didn't want her father to start talking about the future, that would be awkward even though their father had a girl in mind. Sally could never understand why her father was like that. "So how are you lately? Made new friends? Or...? I haven't seen Scipio anywhere lately, I don't know where he is, maybe he's busy?" Sally didn't mind not seeing her boyfriend, she totally understood him but she missed him and wanted to spend time with him. "But again, he need privacy" She sigh and walk to her bed and slammed her self on it.

Veronica smiled at Sally when she apologized. It wasn't her fault, it was no one's fault. It was just Veronica's fate having decided to not have parental love and care in her life and nothing could be done about it. It was a little surprising although it was not the first time she had heard about Sally's biological mom having passed away and that she got more love and care from her step mother. "I do have a pen fen though" Veronica informed Sally. "I met her in NewZealand she attends Hogwarts. She's sweet" she said remembering Vanessa to whom she had addressed a letter just a few days back.

Veronica was not very sure on the matter of inviting Joshua over to Zac's place in China. She knew everything was cool between her and Zac but she could not guarantee on the boys especially after having heard that they were no longer roomies. She would just have to ask him and see what he thinks about it. "New friends...not exactly just getting to know more people around the castle. Ah...Scipio he was the last new friend I made but as a matter of fact I don't see him much either" she said thoughtfully as the topic of Scipio came up. She could see that Sally was a bit sad. "Zac could tell you what he's up to...or maybe you could go visit him in his room?"she suggested her.

Sally shrugged and began to think about Scipio, she hadn't seen him a lot lately and Sally was sure that she had been in her brother's bedroom a lot. "I don't know... I've been hanging out with Zac even in his bedroom but I didn't get to see him. I don't know where he is, maybe he's busy" She was trying to think positively, Sally hated when something ruin her mood that was why she wanted to think everything positively even though she was quite negative. "My brother wanders around at night, seriously... He wont come back to his room until it's 12+ and he'll wake up in the afternoon or if there's class in the morning then I'll have to come and get him. I don't know why he's like that, he had been acting like that since... Well for quite a while" She shrugged, she didn't really know why Zac was like that but Zac was always found happy, he didn't want other people to know that he had a problem, Sally was the only one who could tell.

"So anyway, what's up with you? Anything new? Interesting?" The girl smiled and smirked "Boys?" She winked, Sally loved chatting with other people especially when it was about boys or gossip. She was a typical girly-girl who was curious and wanted to know everything about other people unlike Vivian who was a girly-girl as well but didn't really want to know about other people. They had a lot of things in common but not about the curious part. "Dear Merlin! I wish muggle gadgets could work here" She groaned, she missed her phone dearly but too bad it wont work there. "Oh! IF you're coming to my house then oh wait... You did... But you didn't see my room right? I got tons of muggle gadgets there, they're seriously awesome!" She smiled and threw the doll to the air and caught it.

Veronica sighed as she heard Sally say that despite of hanging out in Zac's room she had not seen Scipio lately. That was sad and Veronica decided that if she saw Scipio wandering anywhere around the castle she would nail him down on this.Just because he was a handsome Italian did not mean that he was allowed to make Sally sad and worried. Veronica had never used girl power before because she had very few female friends but know that she had Sally she would try it for her."Ow...that's why he can't get up at time" Veronica said thoughtfully. She wondered if Zac was on some medicine or potion that was the cause of his late nights.

Veronica giggled when Sally asked if anything new was happening. "Boys...Nothing apart from Joshua's entry" she said with a grin. "However..."she said remembering the little argument-ish fight of Valentine and Zac from the other day. "Did Zac tell you that he punched someone...a fourth year the other day?" she asked Sally curiously wondering if Sally was knowing about Zac's new little fight. "This guy was telling him something about stopping to play with girls...he meant me but well...I was cool with everything and then by the time I reached there I think both of them had received a blow" she informed and rolled her eyes.

Veronica was not very fond of muggle objects or the muggles themselves and she remembered the last time she had been to the Kuang's NewZealand home she had come across a few muggle devices.She would of course not object to them but the muggle village in which she had been brought up everyone hated witchcraft and therefore she had no choice but to dislike the muggles. "I remember having seen a taptop and a telephone of Zac's" she said remembering the weird devices of communication that Zac had shown her last time.
